Avidemux is definetely amazing application.

Btw qt version cannot save image sequence. Maybe they have forgotten to put in the interface because gtk version has it.

I have used PF for long time and I do not think PF deserves negative attention. However  as I said before it is expensive to me.  Also their online storage offer is just too expensive compared to alternatives. That could have been a nice offer 4 years ago but now it is expensive and all you get is 1 gb file storage.

There are couple good things about it thou

-It is under constant developement and you can leave feedback or ask for features in their froms. They seem to take their app serious and try to improve it as much as possible.
-Cross platform, it works under any java supporting platform
-You can create different profiles (more extensive than Folder share). For example you can create project (check in check out style)  profile, or just download or upload etc profiles
-There is no sign in, sign out like FS. This has been one issue that kept me away from FS. As long as you know ip numbers it is easy to connect. It also suppoorts custom dns names.

 As far as blocking shortcuts goes I totally agree with you, it sounds like a bug thou. You might want to drop a line to the developers at least they know the issue. I know you wont use it but this can be a nice feedback to let them know.


I hate their free version and the pop up as well!

I use Scanfs everyday and it works fine with scanfs. Make sure that you have the latest version ScanFs. ALso check out your alias as well. If none of these work try to downgrade your farr to v2.18.01, this si the one I use at the moment.

mouser, this is not only limited to network drives. Farr gets into deep search mode and then it becomes unresponsive for a while. From what I understand if Farr cannot locate the search right away it starts the actual directory search. This is when Farr stalls for a while. Althou this does not happen all the time.

I have implemented "stay on top" via right clicking on title bar by using powerpro. I like the way it works and this might be beneficial to other users if mouser implements it. Basically if I right click on Farr`s title bar (anywhere on the bar) , Farr stays on top until I right click on the title bar again regardless of the search or launching situation. I know we can force Farr to stay on top but this means that user needs to open settings window everytime(assuming that you like going back and forth between stay or not or not). My method is so convenient that you do not need to select stay on top in the setting, even if you like stay on top option in the settings.

mouser I setup hotkey for gwp. It shows up fine but everytime i press the shortcut for gwp I need to press enter to bring gtp tiddlywiki in html viewer as well. is there a way to invoke-run gwp automatically?

Restartsearch or search with "/n" does not do the trick for me for some reason

very slick. If this is not in the help file probably it should be in there

1. when no matches, simply add "run " before the word, in this way FARR can replace win+R , and in the future put "run (keyword)" into the searching list

This is possible using a little-known trick (I plan to make it easier to use in the future).

There is a special alias you can create in FARR called the "noresults" alias, which can be used to tell FARR how to handle what happens when the user hits Enter and no results are shown.

Go to your myalias.alias file in the ALIAS tab, and create an alias like this:
 (see attachment in previous post)
Then if you type something and hit enter and no results are shown, the program will be launched as if using the run command.
(test it by typing notepad.exe and then enter).

We need some real examples probably thou.

Btw since we have this new embedding possibility, do you think that letting Farr run more than one instance is a good idea? For example one can have a very bare farr for only searching executables, no plugins just for search. And another one is for that is totally loaded with all these fancy plugins. And we can assign different shortcuts to this 2 versions. My suggestion is based on the fact that loaded version would slower to respond than barebone version. If there wont be any performance issues than running 2 instances does not make sense.

I have managed it to work.

First problem was a dumb one. There was a failed idx file in the folder and Avidemux probably was trying to write over and was failing so it could not import the vob.
Seond one was about appending files. It was asking me if I wanted to append multiple files for some reason. At first I clicked yes failed couple times. Choosing no leads to successful import,

Btw here is a simple AHK script to use your mouse wheel for frame back and forth inside avidemux:)

4wd I did not know about licencing problems that Vd was having. Thanks for letting me know, that should save my couple hours easily

Vobs are on my hd at the moment and yet having issues. Other players can play them except avidemux. I will try to grab the latest version and see if that makes a difference.

Yes it is asking me to index but fails to index. I had used Avidemux successfully in the past. I will try to investigate little more, probably something is weird with the .vob I am using.

For some reason avidemux cannot open the vob files(other players can play no problem). That means that I need to convert vob to avis then try avidemux. I will also try virtualdub.

Ok that worked. I increased the font size then decreased, increased and decreased to medium size and problem is gone for now. Althou you might want to supply font size control in the html viwer with the right click if you can.

I am yet having tiny fonts problem with tiwi and gwp None of the browsers show tiny font issue when I double click local html files.

you probably don't realize but one of the first things we did to demo the new html capabilities of FARR was integrate a tiddlywiki and a gtdwiki into FARR and it comes included with the latest FARR distribution

I need to watch some reference dvds and videos and I am in need of a good frame by frame viewer. Most of the players fail to do frame accuracy(kmp, vlc, Gom etc). And I do not want to convert whole dvd set to sequential tgas or pngs.I would like to scrub the videos back and forth as good as possible.

Launching web links or commands from a list style alias via f keys or ctl+numbers is broken. v2.13.03  this has been the best version that things were working fine.

Just type "news" and try launch any of them.

I use exact same method to bring my open applications. I use power pro to create such behaviour. It is an amazing program. If you want you can add modifiers like shift or ctrl+ bumping to any coordinate or edge on the screen that can be used to fire any command application etc.

The way I have done is that whenever my mouse bumps top of the screen powerpro sends "win+alt" key to windows which gives me task bar.
