Try using alt+key shortcut -- that should still work I think.

In short: it would be great to configure this dialog window. E.g. to disable the comment field
Yes i think this might be in order.

it had been implemented [Please correct me:  "had been" is wrong, isn't it?]
"it was implemented" would be be better, if you are referring to something that was implemented in the past.  if you are remarking on a brand new feature you might say instead "has been implemented".

I think this screencase shows the different keyboard shortcuts for nudging selection:
https://www.donation...c/3ds/sc25/sc25.html

Basically:
  • Arrow keys MOVE selection without changing its size
  • Ctrl+Arrows expand or shrink selection from center
  • Alt+Arrows adjust position of top left corner of selection
  • Shift+Arrows adjust position of bottom right corner of selection

It's on the "More Interface Options" tab:

I did recheck the "auto move older screenshots" and "auto creat the MyJunk...." options. Then restarted SC it still didnt move the older screenshots that were very old.

I'll check it again -- it's possible i messed up the automoving completely -- thanks for the heads up.
Glad to hear the manual move works well.

Hi corneliusworm,

Sorry for the delay in replying!

That delay sounds like something is hanging it up.. usually this can happen when it's trying to scan a network item in the history, or a networked drive.

Does that match your situation?

The first thing to try might be to go to options and Launch History, and right click in there to clear the list.  See if that helps and let me know.

There is also an option on the "Display Options" tab labeled "Show search subdir details in status bar" -- you could try TEMPORARILY enabling that to see where it might be getting hung up.
Lastly, you might check out the botton "Shortcut Lnk Resolution" options at the bottom of the "Search Behavior" tab.

But im having issues. It is no longer "auto move older Screenshots". It use to.

What happened was that I got cold feet about using this option when the user changed directories, so the new SC will auto uncheck this option whenever you change Screenshot Folders.  At least that's what's supposed to happen.  So if you just re-enable this option on the "Saving and Loading Files" tab, it should stick until you change screenshot folders.  However it will also now only be applied when you startup Screenshot Captor.  See answer below for manually triggering.

Also, as my request, is there a way to force it to auto move screenshots?

Yes, the MoveTo menu has items for manually triggering the move of old/all screenshots.

Announcing a Selfish Micro-Fundraiser for the Official DonationCoder CodyMobile!

CodyMobileGolf2004b.jpg

Hi fellow DC folks..  I am saving up to buy my first car, which I plan to make the official DonationCoder "CodyMobile".

It will spread the visage of Cody and the DonationCoder name throughout the land and be used to ferry visiting DC members from the train station to my house. But most of all it will be used by me to go grocery shopping.

I don't have a particular car picked out yet -- I only know that I am looking at used small hatchbacks from 2004 or so, with 100k+ miles, to be purchased off of craigslist (a Cody decal will be applied after purchase).

My target price is $5,000, which is where I could use your help :).

I have about half that much saved up, and I'm looking for all the help I can get for the remainder.

So if you can spare a few DonationCredits to send my way or if you've never donated to the site but you've used my software, consider this a request to finally take the plunge and donate:

x-click-but04.gif

Note: This fundraiser is really a selfish thing for myself, and does not benefit the site so please don't consider this a big deal like our main fundraisers.. This is just me asking for a little personal help.

I'll update here the contributions received for the CodyMobile car fund so far: $532.34

Living Room / Have you ever gone Geocaching or Letterboxing?
« Last post by mouser on April 24, 2013, 08:44 AM »
Many people here have probably heard of Geocaching.  It's like a treasure hunt where you use a GPS device to navigate to a specific set of coordinates where someone has buried some treasure, and i guess usually a logbook that you sign when you find (dig up) the treasure.  You then replace it for the next person.

But the main point of this post was that I just read about another similar thing called "Letterboxing", which sounds more interesting to me.

220px-WorldWideLetterBox016.png

In letterboxing you are not locating something using GPS coordinates, but rather by following some clues that guide you to a secret spot (you will start out knowing the general region, like in a specific park, and then follow clues posted by someone online for how to find the exact spot).  A big difference with letterboxing is that what is hidden is a unique carved ink stamp and a log book, and you will be carrying around your own custom-carved ink stamp.  So when you find it you will make an impression of YOUR stamp in the secret hidden logbook you've discovered, and make an impression of the secret stamp inside your own logbook.  In this way you have a unique set of stamps like a passport to show your journey.

I love the idea of letterboxing and how the stamps are unique and hand made and are like passport stamps showing where you've traveled.  I'm going to get my niece a stamp carving set and see if it's something she might be interested in.

Have any of you done any geocaching or letterboxing?

New PCWorld review:

In truth, most Clipboard Help+Spell users probably won't scratch the surface of this complex and powerful beast. But even if you only use 10% of what it has to offer, you'll still end up with a more powerful and flexible, clipboard. Try it out.
9592
Several important fixes in latest release:

v4.3.0 - April 22, 2013
  • [Improvement] Clipboard toolbar button now includes some clipboard paste actions.
  • [Improvement] Save and open dialogs are now resizable.
  • [Improvement] Holding shift when triggering delete actions now bypasses recycle bin (conforms with standard windows behavior).
  • [Improvement] You can now set the custom character used to replace illegal filename characters (default is '_')
  • [Improvement+BugFix] Previously, the post-capture pop-up dialog operated on the image PRIOR to any alpha-transparency fixups that were applied to an active window capture; this could result in black areas around images that you copied to clipboard from within the postcapture dialog.  Now such operations are performed prior to display in the post-capture dialog -- Thanks BillS!
  • [Change] If you try to trigger an active window capture from system tray menu you now get a message explaining that you can't trigger it that way.
  • [BugFix] Previous version was deleting old settings files into the recycle bin.
  • [BugFix] Random or black 1-pixel sized borders could appear at bottom and/or right border of image if anti-aliasing is enabled and an object with shadows is placed near bottom of image.
  • [BugFix/Change] Mask files should now end in the extension of the mask file format ("e.g. hands.png.maskjpg" if the mask is in jpg format; you can also use maskpng and maskgif)

just drag it and drop it unto the "Clipboard" group.

Welcome to the site sleepypig

That's an interesting question that hasn't come up before..

It's not currently possible, at least not in an easy way.  You could try using a Windows Object Capture and selecting the interior area, but that's definitely more work than just performing an active-window capture.

One thing i could do if this is a feature that more people want, is add some menu function to automatically trim off some amount from top, bottom, left, right, either at the time of capture or via a menu action -- that would let people pretty easily remove titlebars and/or borders...

Ok new test, download new copy of beta version and rename the mask to be:
handsholding2.png.maskpng

the first kunkelhands mask in the original zip is in jpg format so it should now be named:
KunkelHnads.png.maskjpg

I can't remember the name of the book, but I used to have one that detailed the trials and tribulations of people with the best of intentions and great ideas on how to rebuild our economy with a monetary system that gave actual value to it's currency,

If you can remember the name of it, let us know, sounds like an interesting read!

Adding the extra .png to the end just causes SSC to treat the mask as a frame...
oops i handed thought of that problem.. will fix.  but still, what if you trigger the handsholding2 FRAME -- does it then apply the mask properly?

if you can find a commandline utility to do it, it would be trivial to make an .sctool entry for it.
