you tell the story, i can't bear to.

If you look closely at the photo, you might notice that they're actually normal mugs with the logo part taped on them.  Mouser had the actual mugs made up and sent to me.  Unfortunately, the U.S. state abbreviation of AZ does not equal Arkansas.   ;D  That is, Mouser had my address all correct except for the state abbreviation.  Now, to be fair, UPS did notice that the address was not valid and tried to locate the correct address.  However, we're not sure what the hell they were thinking as they sent the mugs to South Carolina instead of just going off the zip code (which was correct).  So, we did the next best thing.  Mouser sent me the logo we chose for the mugs, I printed out two copies, took them with me to Kuala Lumpur, and lanux128 and I taped them around some other mugs he had (one of which was an actual DC mug he already received).   :P  Makes for a good story, eh?

In case folks don't know, that is me on the right and lanux128 on the left.  I had a great time visiting, and he and his family were unbelievably gracious hosts.  I didn't want to leave.

Mouser, shall I tell the story of the mugs, or would you like to do the honours?   :P

Hi, charlestek, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

 :o    Tranglos, can you tell me what is the issue with Windows such that one cannot tell which program has registered particular hotkeys or shortcuts or duplicates?

The problem is such that the Windows API offers no function to determine which application has registered which hotkey.  In other words, there is simply no way to get the information from the operating system.
955
You're welcome.  Thanks for the DC credits, too.   :D

I set up a couple of test folders, each with 80,000 one meg files.  From my tests, using FileRecycle will cause the issues you saw.  When I used FileDelete, the script took about five seconds to run with little to no hit to CPU and RAM.

Nice work, MilesAhead.   :Thmbsup:

Here's a script that handles both scenarios.  It should be pretty self-explanatory.  Comment/uncomment the message box and delete/recycle lines as necessary.

Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. Path := "C:\tmp\04"
  2. Mode := "K" ; "Use K to keep every Nth file or D to delete every Nth file."
  3. N := 5
  4.
  5. Loop, % Path . "\*.png"
  6. {
  7.     If ( Mode = "K" )
  8.     {
  9.         If ( Mod( A_Index, N ) != 0 )
  10.         {
  11.             MsgBox, % "Delete: " . A_LoopFileFullPath
  12.             ; FileRecycle, % A_LoopFileFullPath
  13.             ; FileDelete, % A_LoopFileFullPath
  14.         }
  15.     }
  16.     Else If ( Mode = "D" )
  17.     {
  18.         If ( Mod( A_Index, N ) = 0 )
  19.         {
  20.             MsgBox, % "Delete: " . A_LoopFileFullPath
  21.             ; FileRecycle, % A_LoopFileFullPath
  22.             ; FileDelete, % A_LoopFileFullPath
  23.         }
  24.     }
  25. }

BTW, any chance for making the command line profile call relative/ portable? Not meaning to be obnoxious or pushy, just wondering if it might get implemented in some future version. I'd rather wait than start tinkering with work-arounds.

Relative paths should work and they should be relative to the Splat.exe location.  Did you try and have it not work?

What's the recommended way to close applications that reside in the tray? I have things there like clipboard manager and LaunchbarCommander - none of them close with the regular close -command, I get an error that it cannot close.
-ScreenManiac (April 20, 2015, 10:33 AM)

Some programs don't respond to WM_CLOSE messages.  In those cases, you have to try the Kill option.  Check out the help file for the Kill action or use the web version here: http://skwire.dcmemb...kill_application.htm

Thank you, skwire!

You're welcome.  I actually wrote an AHK front-end for that many years ago but once Everything was developed, there was no reason for me to use the front-end anymore.

Hi, phig, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

hello and many thanks for this great tool!

You're very welcome.

this is a very good idea! batch conversion of many pdf to cbr/z with the same name. very usefull for conversion of collections!

Just to clarify, is this a feature request?
963
Wow! that was fast!
Thank you so much!

You're welcome.  Unfortunately, for now, there's no way to STOP a running profile short of exiting Splat.  I'll try to get that worked in soon.
964
I could use your program to launch a process say each 2-3 hours to pause Vidcoder, wait 30 minutes and terminate that process to Vidcoder keep encoding.
But I need to loop this process at least to Vidcoder finish your jobs.

Splat can call a profile so you could make this work like this:

Please update to the latest Splat v1.1.7 to get the new wait intervals.

He mentioned this is an American laptop so I'm doubtful it has an AltGr key.

I tried to hold down ALT and type the numbers, but nothing happened

Alt-0163 is the keycode but I'm going to guess that, since you mentioned laptop, the problem is that you have to use the number keypad when entering the numerals.  That is, the number keys above the letters won't work.  You should be able to overcome this with a simple AHK script:

^1:: Send, £ ; Use Ctrl+1 to send the pound symbol.

I'm not sure if this might be better served by a separate app entirely, but might be handy if it's incorporated into sPlaylistmaker as well.

Correct, this is better suited to a file renaming application.

I can usually get the correct names into a text file (1 per line) to match the media files so having some way to automatically merge the correct names onto the existing files would save a lot of renaming work.
I have a file renaming utility that can do this albeit in a clumsy way - maybe you could find a elegant and simple solution?

When I want to do freestyle renaming like this, I use one of two programs (depending on how fancy I need to get with the text editing): SpeedRenamer and Freename

Note that SpeedRenamer's website is in German but the program is in English.

I don't know what the issue is.  I've tested the application under Win7 Ultimate (64-bit) and it works for me.

You mentioned this is a work computer. Perhaps the proxy settings are locked down?

thanks. but unfortunately, this app does not work for me. i use windows 7 on my work laptop.

Can you try running it with administrator rights, please?

I work on my PC, and play games, but I also photo edit with professional software.  Sometimes, I need slower mouse speeds for my photo editing.  The only thing that I've found is for setting differences between a laptop touchpad and a usb mouse.  This would really help me out.  Thank you.

Perhaps my Mat (Mouse Acceleration Toggler) program would work for your needs?

Hey how's it going?

Unfortunately, my regular job hasn't left me with much coding time lately.  Apologies.
