Also, I like your idea of having "Multiple Catalogs". It wasn't part of my initial scope, but I've added it to the list for future functionality. Neat idea!
great!

The search function on the forum is still not working right (searching in topics-only is clearly not working).. I'm not quite sure what the nature of the problem -- it's probably related to the forum database api.. I'm working on it.

I happened to have just searched the music thread -- the first attempt didnt work. It suggested I try again, but to notify the authorities if it didnt work a second time. It did work (properly I think) on the second attempt.

These two guys on Melodica perfectly performing Star Wars music.

Damn.

Check out their channel too, they do a lot of music using Melodica as the main instrument, which is kind of amazing.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot hot keys not possible in MS IE 11 admin mode

It works. Is it a general problem for all screenshot tools which use hot keys or could I expect that this will be covered in a future screenshot captor release?

hi Joe, I cant answer those -- I'm sure mouser (the author) will at some stage.

IIRC the only solution for a run-as-admin app is to use the 'Quick Capture bar', which requires a mouse-click
In case you dont use it, you can activate it via tray menu context menu (default position is centre-top of screen)

As well as having read Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol a couple of times as a child, I think I've probably seen all/most of the film and TV versions (though I don't recall the 1935 version). However, no-one seemed to capture Scrooge so perfectly as Alastair Sim in this 1951 version. Really good supporting cast as well.

I actually saw the 1935 version over Christmas, can highly recommend it -- loved Scrooge, and the very dramatic acting style of the time suited well.

Loving Vincent
http://www.imdb.com/...262342/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Animated using actual paintings in the style of Van Gogh. Actors then have some kind of filter applied to make them look in the same style. There was some variation, but it worked very well. Every now and again, a scene comes along that's exactly like one of his paintings. The story worked quite well, it's after Vincents death, with someone trying to deliver a letter to his brother, and trying to find out what actually happened to him, and why he died.

I enjoyed it

^ I like it, the way it looks, but more importantly, how accessible it is: with skrommels software is much easier to actually see what's going on -- it was much too cluttered before.

Now when you say the homepage is a bit barren -- which homepage are you referring to? url?

I see the text below was added since, which solves the problem

FWIW, the home page is a bit barren** -- I initially wasnt sure what to click on in order to get info about the software (=>downloads)

A lot shown in that Paris video seemed to be more along the lines of 'who cares about cyclists'.

NY not as bad as Paris, but they have bike fun there too --

I would even consider using such a bike here in Paraguay. Traffic can be very problematic here and a commute that lasts 20 minutes without traffic can easily take a1 to 1.5 hour with traffic.

With such a bike traffic wouldn't be any problem anymore, I would get (more) exercise than I do now

I commuted (by bike) for ~10 years largely in and around Dublin city centre. Traffic was particularly bad at the time -- and exhaust fumes too, so I got the best mask/filters I could get at the time. Filters though cannot filter diesel exhaust fumes (dont know if true but I've heard that the molecules are too small). I grew to hate diesel exhaust fumes with a passion, and still do to this day.

On a side note I see they shot on the Skelligs (wikipedia). I havent been on the islands, but at one stage worked on a contour map of the island, preparing it for publication (basically taking a technical-drawing with lines with no line-weight, making it look good).
Here a photo from the book and screenshot-detail of the map.

North's latest newsletter would seem to pretty much describe Apple's apparently appallingly cynical, corporate-approved behaviour (re these batteries) to a "T":
@IainB:

EDIT//
I didnt mean to be stroppy when asking the following -- mouser has given a probable explanation below
//EDIT

  • why are you putting indirect links to other sites?
  • Why no direct link to the quoted article? **
  • And the advertising at the end that has no relation to the topic, why include that?

** I see you do include a link at the top of the quote: when I follow that I get the following:

« Last post by tomos on January 07, 2018, 07:31 AM »
bug:
if I add a photo directory, but dont add a location for the tag info, I get an error warning -
that's good, except it closes the app, and I get the same error on restart -- so I'm caught in a loop, and am unable to correct the problem. Note -- I know I can delete the ini file and start again.

I see I get caught in the same loop if I dont add a photo dir.

Note #2 -- know it makes no sense to do the above, I did it by mistake when testing.

I can now add a folder, and a location for the stored info, and add tags.
That's all functioning well

Looking forward to seeing how one will be able to view all this info.
And I know it's early days, but requesting the ability to make my own list of categories.

This could be a very handy app -- I would see myself using it to quickly sort a bunch of photos related to e.g. a particular job, or subject, or occasion. One could store the tags for each batch in the same folder as the photos.
So, this may also be a request:
the ability to have 'multiple catalogs' i.e. to easily access multiple locations for the photos & their respective related info.
