Find And Run Robot / Re: Latest FARR Release v2.107.04 beta - Sep 23, 2012
« Last post by kartal on July 18, 2008, 09:17 PM »
With recent versions some weird issue has been introduced. I find myself needing to restart Farr multiple times a day. What happens is that Farr becomes unresponsive, but not in a cpu wasting way. When I bring Farr window, first no history is shown, second typing keywords or commands do not do anything. It feels like Farr window is just a window without any functionality. I am pretty sure that this has been a result of frequent use of html view based functions - aliases. Because I seem to get this more when I use html view function to quesry some websites like dictionaries.

What I like about scanfs is that is has a decent previewer for images and text based files. Also It has catalog and non catalog search options.

I have a router with a base firewall embedded. I am mainly worried about malicious net activity of the apps I use. I am just looking for an easier software that will show me what is going in in my system.

Find And Run Robot / Re: aliases for aliases?
« Last post by kartal on July 16, 2008, 01:19 AM »
agroups seems to work fine. But you know it is extra typing and there is no auto completion. Althou I can create an alias for it. But again it is not part of standard typing.

If you can put that into the code that would be amazing. Until then I will go with agroups. Thanks for the tip.

Find And Run Robot / aliases for aliases?
« Last post by kartal on July 16, 2008, 01:04 AM »
Sometimes I cannot remember the exact name for a keyword. Those times I wish that I could have either long names in which Farr could bring up the alias based on any of the words in the name or define aliases in the aliases. Probably it is possible with regex but I am looking for easy and streamlined solution.

for example

I have tutorial alias but this alias can also be learning, lessons etc.

too bad 64bit downlkoad is broken :(
964
Mikiem, thanks for alternative solution. I will give a try.

I am having the same issue. When I have one alias result I need to enter twice to launch it. These aliases do not have any arguments. They are straight web urls.
966
Thanks for the update. It might work, because I just checked out runonce key via autoruns. The stuff I have added via your app is listed there. Thanks again

Thanks cthopre!

I will give a try once I need to restart today

UrlSnooper / Feature Request: Sorting options
« Last post by kartal on July 13, 2008, 11:21 PM »
I hate the fact that newest sniffed urls are at the bottom of the list which makes it ahrd to track what is going on. I wish there was default sorthing options based on name, date, index that updates listing in real time etc.

General Software Discussion / Does anyone know any temporary startup manager?
« Last post by kartal on July 13, 2008, 11:04 PM »
I am looking for a startup manager that can start items only once(one session) then deletes them. I know I can make batch files, use startup applications etc but that is not the path I want to take. I need more convenient solution so that I do not forget to disable-delete any temporary startup application-item.

It looks like www.adrive.com has officially started both free and commercial options. The free option gives you 50 gb for personal use.

Before You Know It looks very nice. I would buy if there was a discount :)

Find And Run Robot / Farr is not launching ahk scripts
« Last post by kartal on July 13, 2008, 12:52 AM »
For some reason I cannot launch-run my .ahk scripts. Neither browsing to director nor keyword searching works. I can see the scripts but pressing enter does not launch them. I could launch them in the past without any issues. I am using v2.22.01

General Software Discussion / Re: Equivalent to Foldershare?
« Last post by kartal on July 11, 2008, 11:50 AM »
Well FS is not ip to ip connection at first. A server is needed to route the connections, that is why you need a user name. And I personally do not like that approach.
That would be the main reason why I would advocate PF over FH. On the otherhand when I have used FS for a project it was easy and seamless as you stated. I think that FS is the best if you do not want many configuration options.

In my opinion they both are good products.

-There is no sign in, sign out like FS. This has been one issue that kept me away from FS.

You mean sign in on the web page? I almost don't use it. I've just set up a couple of libraries comprising over 7000 files to be synchronized and since then it works unattended.
