@sphere:
Sorry, but I don't know where to find the unequivocal statements of purpose coming from MS, regarding OneNote, that might validate, or invalidate your concerns. MS sometimes seem to make statements that obfuscate their plans, or leave things unclear or ambiguous. I suspect that may be because they are waiting for feedback from their users (which they are getting, I gather).

General Software Discussion / Re: What's the future of OneNote?
« Last post by wraith808 on October 01, 2019, 08:35 PM »
http://onenote-for-b.../onenote-office-2019

My notebooks are in the cloud, so I see them in the one note app (even though I'm still using 2016) and can sync between them.

And a big FU on the FAQ page

https://support.offi...3ed71a3c2103#bkmk_12

How do I access my local notebooks in OneNote for Windows 10?

In the latest versions of OneNote, your notebooks are stored in the cloud so you can access them from anywhere.

If you have any local notebooks, you can move them to OneDrive or SharePoint Online, so you can access your notes from anywhere. On-Premises SharePoint is also supported. To get started, simply open OneNote for Windows 10 and follow these instructions to move your notebooks to OneDrive. OneNote always keeps a copy of your notes cached on your device, so you can access them even if you’re offline.

We understand and respect that some people might not want any data stored in the cloud. For the vast majority of OneNote customers, however, having access to their notes on all their devices is a core part of the value of OneNote. We know that this means some of you might look for other solutions, and we understand. We have an open file format that other note-taking apps and developers can use to export notes from OneNote.

Can I see a show of hands for anyone using the dropbox multi-device sync functionality in my android apps?
I have it enabled and running but the only thing I ever used it for was to move a setup from one phone to another. There are other ways to do that - I can live without it.

I have for much the same reason- to sync between my devices.  But I could do without it also.

I'm saying that I'm not sure that were I procured it from wasn't from them.  It wasn't from a user mikesee, and it wasn't from AskReddit nor anything actually on Reddit.  /me shrugs

I'm not sure that's from them, though... :)

I was wondering the same thing in regards to the reply.

Mozilla Foundation is responsible for Firefox, and they are one of the few competitors for Google at this point in the browser space.

Yeah... the one that I posted had all sorts of links about the current status of texter.

texter from lifehacker my personal favorite text expander, written in AHK
Regards

Lifehacker has changed a lot since then, so there is no "Texter Installer 0.6.exe" file any more. Do you have a copy (or newer) that I can have a copy of, please? I believe it's small enough to be uploaded here.

Then it dawned on me; in their attempt to eliminate Pluto and -what- be politically correct?; to be in step with the times?; they've changed little to nothing. I looked for Pluto but could not find it. Yet Pluto is still there. You just have to 'quest' for it.

I give you: PLUTO, THE ULTIMATE EASTER EGG.

The scientific community downgraded Pluto from a planet a while ago.  No conspiracy- if it was a recent video, it would hopefully know that fact.

@publicdomain

My first choice was AHK, but I'm a newbie with that scripting language. Do you have some preference?

I think he was asking if you still needed it and any features that you desired, as he has for his other threads.  I think he already has a language of choice to develop in.

HP printers try to send data back to HP about your devices and what you print | Robert Heaton

I'm talking about the other parts.  The actual information.  Of course, that's what temporary e-mails are for, though I'm not worried enough to put in something different for location.

Can't believe someone is still using this thing. Time to make an updated version! Stay tuned ~

This thing is the best thing since sliced bread!  Just a warning on the deprecated functions:

Code: Text [Select]
  1. [14-Sep-2019 23:25:39 UTC] PHP Deprecated:  Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; Archive_Zip has a deprecated constructor in /home/redacted/zipfilename.zip.phpzip.php on line 1
  2. [14-Sep-2019 23:25:39 UTC] PHP Deprecated:  The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in /home/redacted/zipfilename.zip.phpzip.php on line 1

Thanks for making this!  It saved me a lot of time!  Donationcredits coming your way!

You can't go wrong with Cody.  I don't think that there are any other real logo icons that we have other than Cody.

Ah... that clears things up.  I thought you were saying that Clibu was that piece of software.  Thanks for that clarification!
946
It uses the database on the Clibu server.

That means it does call somewhere to register, correct?  It just happens to call to you.  Am I parsing that correctly?

Clibu consists of a Browser App and a Cloud Server app which communicate back and forth. User registration is handled back on the server, so yes it calls our server.

So even with the following feature from your prior post:

This stores all data locally, and will have offline support with synchronization to other devices should you wish to use that.

You will still need to be connected to your servers to use the software?

You might try after you get it positioned on the screen to close it (completely, including the taskbar notification icon) and then re-open it.  It's likely that they're saving the position on exit, and if you reboot without closing, it might not go through that procedure.

949
If you haven't tried Clibu yet, I'd welcome any feedback.

Does it use the same sort of registration as Surfulater, i.e. dial home instead of just inputting a code?

there are NO bluetooth programmable devices.

False.  There are several programmable bluetooth keyboards.  I have one that I made, actually.  In this post, it's the bottom right one in the image.  I have to use TMK right now, but would really like to change to QMK.
