Finished Programs / Re: DONE: automated mp3 rip from video clip
« Last post by skwire on June 26, 2015, 12:51 PM »
A interface. Any interface.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Video2MP3 was written for a specific request by the original poster and, thus, is extremely basic and barely configurable.  It will remain that way because there are innumerable other more capable media converter apps out there that I just do not see the need to write an interface for Video2MP3.  @c.gingerich pointed out one above but that is just one of MANY.

Hi, telealex, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.  I'm on holiday this week but I'll try to take a closer look at your post when I get back.

I was able to procure a PDF of issue 449 and it also features mouser's Launchbar Commander.

Thanks for the PDF, rjbull.  I wonder if any DC members could find the original issue that Splat was featured in.   :)

Is there a way to configure the program (config.ini ??) so that folders can be created with the source files date ?

Hi, zramdt, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.  In regards to your question, no, there currently is no way to make Files 2 Folder work that way.  However, please do check out the application that tomos referred to as I think it's designed to do what you want.

just in case Skwire cannot help directly, here is a possible solution:
DONE: Change (sub) folder(s) date based on newest/oldest file in the folder

I was going to suggest that program, too, tomos.

Good stuff!  Maybe a "ds /all" parameter (or similar) to easily output all drives?

« Last post by skwire on May 19, 2015, 03:57 PM »
I got stuck on step one in those instructions as one can't add a show if it doesn't show up in the search results for selection thus activating (un-ghosting) the "Add series" button.

Step one was to just add any show as a temporary placeholder to manually edit later.  At any rate, I'm glad you got it working.  In the meantime, I've added a note to my ToDo to come up with some way to add a show via its ID (for situations such as this).

Dennis Leary's new series "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" (yes, all one string) is posted up at TheTVDB and lists the first ep on July 18.  Doing an epCheck search finds a multitude of shows about, ahem, cough cough... sex.  But not Leary's.

I'm wondering if there's a problem on TheTVDB's side or if epCheck's search is having an issue with one long string of text with three ampersands glommed in?

This is due to the fact that the TVDB.com website search and its API search don't return the same results (for whatever reason).  What I mean is that you can search for "Eye Candy" directly on the site and it's listed in the results.  Searching the same string using the proper API doesn't return the show.  Rather frustrating for both of us, eh?  That said, if you're inclined, you can modify the appropriate profile file in your epCheck data folder, and add the show manually as demonstrated in this post:

I think I got the new Spotify partially working (play/pause/stop/next/prev).  Volume controls and like/dislike are not supported for the new Spotify.

v1.1.2 - 2015-05-16
+ Added partial support for the new Spotify client.  Tested against version
      1.0.4.90.  (Thanks, uniuse)

Hi, uniuse, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.  Apologies for the delay in replying.

Can I ask if you can update Trout to not only remember when you close the app but across files so I can use it with MPH ?

I'm not sure what you're asking for here as MPH already supports Trout.  Regarding the new Spotify, I've tried to make it work but, due to how MPH is written, it's proving to be a right pain in the arse.

Hi, Mimori.  Thank you for the kind words and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

I have just one question though, can it be possible to have sWeather check yahoo weather using port 443, so as to conceal the user's WOEID from potential eavesdroppers?

Here you go:

Website | Download
v1.5.5 - 2015-05-13
+ Added a "Use https:// (SSL) when possible" option.  (Thanks, Mimori)

@charlestek: Regarding this issue, I'm of the opinion that if an app could have been written to do this, it would have been a long time ago.  Hell, I would have written it myself if there was a way to get that hotkey data.

But I think I understood !
After having added the path to my image on the frameless shortcut, I have to dble-click the shortcut and NOT drop the image on the shortcut !

Yep, you understand it perfectly now.

Thank you for the help and for your nice programm !

You're very welcome.  I'm glad we were able to figure it out.   :)

Okay, that's good.  Now, create a shortcut and add the parameters, one at a time, starting with the path to the Flower.png file.  If the path has spaces, make sure to use double-quotes around the entire path.  Try to avoid copy/pasting as it can introduce stray characters such as tabs, carriage returns, and linefeeds.

Hi, jo17000.  I tested out your parameters string and it works fine for me.  As a test, what happens if you drag and drop that Flower.png onto the Frameless.exe file?
943
So, does ExtractNow cover your needs?  If so, do you mind if I mark this thread as solved?
944
(I can't drag and drop a folder on it)

I realise it's not as convenient, but you can right-click the list and use the "Add archives" or "Search for archives" options, no?
945
Have you given this a look?:  http://www.extractnow.com  It's a beautifully designed program that works well for me.

Hi, Bluedraft, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :D

Hi, I have 20 files from different directories ready for the checksum, it is possible to output 20 .sfv files in their respective directories instead just one with the 20 checksums? thanks in advance for any help and best regards.

No, this is not currently possible in SFV Ninja.

General Software Discussion / Re: moving data from desktop to laptop
« Last post by skwire on May 05, 2015, 07:46 PM »
As for migrating data, that's a simple copy. Just connect over your router and copy it.

And, if you don't have a router or switch, you can set up a point-to-point network between your computers using a simple Ethernet crossover cable and copy files over that.

Contro, I think you need to understand that application commandline support is not some sort of standard thing.  That is, a program has to have commandline options written into its code -- you don't just magically pass parameters and have things work.  In other words, what you want might not be available in some email clients (if any at all).

The reason for the hotkey checkbox GUI is that the standard Windows hotkey control is very limited in what it can recognise.  For example, it cannot recognise the Windows key nor can it recognise mouse buttons.
