General Software Discussion / Re: Recommend anti-spyware, please?
« Last post by cmpm on May 15, 2010, 03:18 PM »
Most any subsicrption based antivirus/malware will let you run their program on more then one computer for the price of one subscription I think.

Probably get flagged as a business for over 3 or 5, depending on the company.

I hope it all backfires on apple.
Cause I think it is a publicity stunt that has involved a public service, the police.

Yeah, like apple has some big great secret super phone.
Worth $5,000? No way.
An "engineer", doubt it.

This is how a new phone is "leaked"?

Living Room / Re: Apple Attacks Adobe

Seems to me Apple wants to lock out all cross platform software.

It's been the consumers that have kept some because they would not be able to sell Macs without it being able to run some essential Windows type programs.

I'd choose Corel rather then Adobe at this point.
Less expense and I worked with it and produced without a six week course :).
It wasn't much but I edited and cut with just playing with it.
Same with photo software of that caliber, imo.

I have heard of some picking up Adobe's workings quite fast though.
It wasn't me...lol...

My post should have been in another thread.
Anyway, where do you want to start?

http://www.google.co...amp;client=firefox-a

They have everything from medical records to what movies you watch.

But, I didn't mean this to be as google bash, sorry 40hz.
You are showing what google services we are missing....

"just google it"

has become the standard for search
to which they branched out
teaming with Firefox and IE (until Bing)

indexing every word on the net
google will not disclose what they do with that
although some of it is obvious

and they have the nerve to accuse those who see it as
"having hallucinations" basically

of course they pioneered search results based on page ranking
which is based on what?

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Nitro PDF Pro v6 US $40
« Last post by cmpm on April 10, 2010, 12:32 PM »
What do you use for PDF, Innuendo. Just curious is all.
I still use Nitro but would use Adobe if I needed to.
Printing to the Nitro printer is easy and comes out very good.
I use that for saving things that I need to save for a while,
as well as for communication when needed.

This not the one with OCR built in, but for a good PDF program, it's a good deal.

With it's limitations and lack of up to date connections.
(Should be USB 3 on there)

Seems like something to find at a yard sale for 5 or 10 bucks.
16gb? Sheesh!

Executor seems to have some cool options.
Like import the program files .exe.
And drag and drop for keywords.
Adding a keyword with "Add to windows send-to menu" option enabled.

http://www.1space.dk...tor/screenshots.html

I don't know if FARR has these options or not,
I was just browsing the feeds and this was on 'BARRY'S BEST COMPUTER TIPS'.

I don't use a launch bar so I'm not qualified to discern the best options.
Just thought that these were good options shown there in the link of screenshots.

I'd suggest looking at Corel if you are shopping.
They have come a long way i think.

NCH software is install on demand.

In other words, download 1 program, any program of theirs, you get direct links to all their programs.
And if you want to burn a cd it automatically will download and install it's burning program and make it the default program for burning.
Same with the rest of the programs they have.
