Finished Programs / Re: DONE: One Click File Extension Changer
« Last post by Ath on September 14, 2016, 01:19 AM »
Just tried it and it seems to work just fine.
It might take your Explorer a few seconds to refresh the list of files though, maybe a Ctrl-R/F5 press (refresh) might fix that?

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Generic windows command line gui builder
« Last post by Ath on September 10, 2016, 01:24 AM »
And if it worked a bit sideways? A gui that helps you configure a generic gui-for-a-cli-program? Where you select the parameters and their meaning + possible values. And the generic gui presents the screen of configured options and runs the cli for ya'.
It would end up being written in AutoIt3, if done by me, but would be the perfect NANY-2017 chore for me :)

Or you could have several sets of itemlists... (but then you'd still need the option of resetting, clearing or deleting a list)  8)

Nice

Feature requests:
  • Option (maybe as a checkbox in the header) to keep the screen on, so I can keep the device on the table while playing/counting/etc. and tap a +1/-1 button without unlocking the device after a minute (or whatever timeout is set).
  • Optional sorting: - on count, - on name, - reverse

Post New Requests Here / Re: Program to send Windows + Right (or Left) Arrow ?
« Last post by Ath on September 07, 2016, 01:38 AM »
What software do you use to connect to the remote PC, mstsc (Windows' Remote Desktop Client)?
I'm using Terminals (find it here), and that supports the use of Win-Arrow, Alt-Tab, etc. inside the remote system, instead of acting on your local Windows box, unlike the standard Remote Desktop Client, even though Terminals is using the Terminal Services ActiveX control. It just works. And you have all your remote desktops in one tabbed window.
A very happy user here (no connections with the maker), highly recommended

I don't recall, nor see, that option in the profile, but going to ths SCC page and clicking the link to get the free license, it shows me my personal, full fledged license

Update your video-drivers, or installing a WHQL-qualified release should help, IMHO.

Hmm, looking at those images, I wonder where you have planned your sleeping area? Sleeping in an outside tent isn't a feasible option for 12 months, I presume.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Ctrl+Z Undo doesn't work?
« Last post by Ath on July 29, 2016, 03:18 AM »
Could this 'not working' have to do with what's currently the cursor-focus? If the focus is in the filename editbox, it'll undo there, and not in the image. Selecting the image pane by clicking it once, then press ctrl-Z might help.

Selection in 99.999% of Windows applications is performed by using shift+arrow keys, ctrl is to be added when selecting larger parts of the word at the cursor. Ctrl+arrow (right/left) is used to 'jump' to the next/previous word. Ctrl+up/down action depends on the type of application and input-context.

According to this MS supportpage the errorcode 0xc...210 implies that the Windows 10 edition installed (Pro) doesn't match the Windows 7 Starter edition key you are trying to activate. You should revert to a Windows 10 Home edition to activate properly. Maybe the originally installed W10Home should have been manually activated by contacting MS support.

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: Cubiq - Beta Testers Wanted
« Last post by Ath on July 24, 2016, 04:22 AM »
Well, I've just played Cubiq for a short while on the Nexus 5. I constantly find my hand covering the current scores per color, as my primary hand is my right hand. If I could swap the scores to the left side, it would be better playable, I think. I still would fail the critters level (13 is a lot when just catching 3 or 4 cubes at a time), I guess, as I'm not ver good at any game (I usually lose interest afer a few seconds) but just by keep playing sometimes helps me pass a level  :-[

Oh, and the speed on the Nexus stays fast enough now, even after playing a bit longer.

Living Room / Re: Email Naming Convention for Personal Website
« Last post by Ath on July 24, 2016, 03:55 AM »
For a personal website, the form of firstname@initial+lastname.tld seems just right, having that personal informal taste.
For a formal, non-lastname company the [email protected] sounds professional but still personal, and [email protected] sounds professional but 'any collegue could replace me, so we won't get too personal' business attitude-like. To me, that is  :)

The only thing I have to report is that I've stopped my testing of Cubiq. (updated to beta 6).
My devices are either too slow (Samsung Tab2 10.1"), or too small (Nexus 5) to decently play this game. And I'm not that of a game player that I must play this, or any, game.
Thanks for the experience, and thanks for having me around.

...Are you a wizard? This sounds like exactly what I am looking for!
Not a wizard, but I've advised Datacrow a few times before, after looking at it for a few times over the last couple of years, so I understand what it can do, but could never find a proper use-case for it for myself.
You did find the browser-based use I presume?

I just noticed the two of you have the same quote in your signatures:
*jibz dutifully removes his forumqoute*
Haha  ;D

I've tested beta 4 a bit both on the Tab2 and the Nexus 5, and though speed is better on the Tab2 with static background and sfx off, the game seems to slow down when the game-level goes up. Bottom-line is that the device is just too slow for this generation of game-engine.
On the Nexus 5 it is quite playable, but I'm not competitive enough to reach good scores  :-[ It is a fun game though

According to this forumpost (tom's hardware) these cordless mice can only be paired to 1 receiver at any time. Usually the non-unifying receivers have a teensie weensie small pairing button available, that should start the pairing-process with a free-floating mouse (afaik, all these mice also have a pairing button, sometimes hidden in the battery compartment).

After my previous message I've also installed Cubiq (0.1607.3) on my Nexus 5, and it is indeed much better playable
But then the smallish screen compared to the Tab2 10.1" (4.95", 1920x1080) comes into play, as my eyes have 'quite some experience' (50+) :o

I'll check out the new options of your latest release (thanks!) tonight

I'm finding it very difficult to play the Nature Walk level on my tablet, the cubes flip very hard as I swipe 'm, they turn slow, and the whole game-experience is just much slower than the other levels. Even the level where I have to line-up 13 cubes is beter playable. Are the resources so much heavier there or just a delay setting of the wrong magnitude?
