This sounds interesting. Can you give us some technical details?

What tech details do ya want?

Cant give you anything like reccomended system specs as of yet because im upgrading all the graphics to something 1/2 decent, rather than my 2007 attempt at 3D haha

I was wondering what language you were using to program it, how you were creating the 3D models, the architecture you'll use, how you will host it, etc etc.

I'll be very happy to help out somewhere along the line with coding (depending on language) or maybe some quest ideas, dialogue for NPC's, or even simply a whole bunch of extremely pedantic proofreading  :P

@timns: What language would you likely program it in?

The rules are quite elegant, IMHO.  Everything is accomplished with a d12 die.  I should point out that my character creator departs slightly from the official rules for character creation.  I don't like the method described in the rules manual.  However, my program is, in my estimation, 99% compliant with official Dominion Rules.

I'd write 'er in Java. I did actually make another start earlier this year when NANY was first announced, but I knew there would not be any hope of having anything to show so I put it to one side yet again.

I see the rules are free to use: I should grab a copy and take a look.

One day I'll turn my attentions to something like that. I've had an idea for a reasonably original Sci-Fi RPG since 1986, and about four false starts at writing it over all that time.

Thank you koind soir! The intention is that if you can get all 30 words then you progress to the next challenge of 60... then 90, 120, 150 words.

If nothing else it should improve your Scrabble skills.

Ok folks, if anyone would like to try the game, it's available here:

http://www.head-in-the-clouds.com/game/WhirlyWord.jnlp

(No installation required, it's a little Java app so it should launch right away)

I'll do the proper 'blue box' update to the first post tomorrow. Right now it's time to go and walk the dog.

Enjoy! And see if you can figure out what to do  :-[

Has anyone put a game based around these rules into software? Sounds like something that Stephen66515 should direct his attentions to?

(Sorry to hijack the thread - just a passing thought)

If this were 20 years ago, I would be trying out the paper version of this game myself, and probably jumping all over this nice-looking software.

I grabbed a copy of Website Watcher a couple of weeks ago, and I really think I must be missing something.

I seem to have ended up with a tabbed browser in which only the leftmost tab gets used, and a fiddly interface for setting up some monitoring options.

Shouldn't Twiggles and Cobbe be on either side of those spinning wheels?

Damn, I wish I'd thought of that! They absolutely should.

Instant replay is a great idea! And now that you're back to working on it, I hope you'll look back at some of my earlier feature requests and consider them again. :D
https://www.donation....msg191985#msg191985 (control of paddle on the bottom - think left hand on left/right arrows, right hand on mouse)
https://www.donation....msg192343#msg192343 (moving bumpers, dials/preferences for amount of red/blue/green bumpers)
https://www.donation....msg202707#msg202707 (echoing someone else's idea of saving powerups, and general sentiment that gameplay needs to be a bit more strategic)
https://www.donation....msg202906#msg202906 (revised scoring)

And what ever happened to the lighting bolts? :D

Help! I've awoken the slumbering request beast  ;D

But yes, these are all top suggestions and I shall definitely be doing some more on the game, especially over the holidays.

The icons will also update if you click the little 'refresh' button at top right next to the search box.

As for the minimizing - you've had that before, eh? I'll try again to reproduce it here.

Thanks!

Ok, I have started tinkering with the game again just for fun.

For now, only 2 changes:

1. You can have balls, lots of balls. See the Options screen (I think this was a request from Deozaan)
2. Level 18 added. I shall add some more whacky levels soonish.

So it's now version 1.7, and available from the usual link:

http://www.head-in-t...me/TwigglesGame.html

Now: back to getting it to run as a pop-up auto-Completion in Auspex

    * Different types of Replacement / Completion etc. automatically get different icons

Developer's Tips & Tricks is about as close as I have come.

Looks great but no drag-drop support :(

It does have DnD now... just found this thread and that Dev's Tips & Tricks looks pretty good.

I wrote an HITC cartoon with 'cousin Cody' in it, back in March 08 - does that count?

It was only ever roughed out:

Some excellent reporting there, thank you very much (or 'tvm' as we Auspex users say )

I'll look into the clipboard thing, and of course the shift+alt+tab, which annoyingly I was sure was now ok. May well be related to the AHK thing reported here a week or so back, with all the 'SHIFT' stuff going on behind the scenes.
