The break point is at 699. I cut out other stuff below for clarity.

But even when I break on other lines, I get jack. It's very odd.

I'm curious to see what form their "series of global protests" will take.

They seem to be more about actual protests there than DDOS. But we'll see.

I'm curious about how others view Anonymousw.

http://www.whyweprotest.net/en/

Stand for freedom. Stand with Anonymous
To tyrants, the downtrodden are nameless.

Since its inception, the internet has provided new ways for people all over the world to exercise the rights of free speech, freedom of the press and freedom of assembly. These rights are not simply the benefits of a free society--they are the very means of preserving that society's freedom. The recent increase in government interference with these freedoms coincides with the failure of the corporate media to fulfill their vital role in checking the abuse of authority. Censorship and journalistic abdication have left citizens unaware and unable to hold their governments accountable.

WikiLeaks has moved to fill the void left by traditional news media, providing the necessary information for citizens to hold their governments to account. Yet it has not been granted the legal protections generally afforded to journalists. Instead, the organization has been vilified and monetary support has been blocked by governments and private corporations. The vitriol aimed at WikiLeaks demonstrates an unsettling disregard for the fundamental freedom to exchange information and express ideas. Members of a free society must not allow information to be suppressed simply because it inconveniences those in power. We share the responsibility to defend vital liberties. The time to act is now.

We are Anonymous, a leaderless movement that has worked tirelessly to oppose all forms of Internet censorship worldwide, from DMCA abuses to government mandated content filters. Our initiatives include supporting dissenting groups in Iran, Zimbabwe and Tunisia, as well as waging the highly visible information battle against the Church of Scientology. We are now prepared to take the fight to the world stage. Join us on January 15th for the first in a series of global protests in defense of WikiLeaks and freedom of expression. Stand with us to defend your freedoms.

We Are Anonymous And So Are You

I've got to say, I like that they are building awareness.

In debug. Cleaned. Restarted VS. No luck.

Haven't rebooted. I'll need to do that later though.

I have a couple community edition plugins, but they've never acted up before, and they've been in there for quite a while.

Sigh... Yes... I've searched... And I can't find the answer... This is bizarre. (I bet $10 somebody will find the answer real easy now...)

Anyways, check this screenshot:

Screenshot - 2011-01-15 , 10_06_25 PM.png

My problem is that all of a sudden, I can't "mouse over" to find variable values when debugging.

You can see in there that "comparisons" has values in it, however, "singleComparison" shows "...does not exist in the current context." Huh? It's populating "comparisons", so it obviously has values in it, but...

Similarly, pi1, pi2 and pis won't show any values there. They don't exist~! But they do~!

See how bizarre this is?

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 Release: Duplicate Photo Finder
« Last post by Renegade on January 14, 2011, 10:55 PM »
When you do the check hashes for identical files, you can speed that up significantly by only calculation the hashes for duplicate file sizes. So if you have 8 files
a.jpg [102456 bytes] b.jpg [232583 bytes] c.jpg [104356 bytes] d.jpg [232483 bytes] e.jpg [102456 bytes] f.jpg [232583 bytes] g.jpg [38914 bytes] h.jpg [89583 bytes] then you only need to calculate hashes for the files that are 102456 or 232583 bytes long. This is what I do as part of my check all archives for duplicates in DCDisplay (only there, since I want to go via image data, I check if hash maps then I check number of pages, and average resolution)

Neil Harding

Thanks for the tip Neil.

At the moment, my logic for 2 methods are combined and need refactoring. One checks for file exactness while the other compares image data exactness. File size doesn't help for image data exactness, so at the moment that won't get done. I need to refactor things to make it cleaner. Threading forces that, so once I get that done, your tip will be an excellent optimization~! :)

Currently watching the video now.

Weird how they pronounce Aspartame. Everyone I know pronounces it so it sounds similar to "as part of me."

There are a few things like that in English that get weird pronunciations sometimes. "Jujube" is one. It's properly pronounced like "jew jewb" without an "ee" sound at the end.

Well, I'm on to doing some threading stuff now to speed things up. (Got a few hours to burn today.)

On a funny note, my first attempt focused on threading for the simple comparison method, but it was simply too fast in parts and didn't work. In other words, time to do some significant refactoring. :)

Hahahah~! No - I didn't mean anything like that. I just meant that if you needed some material for your own amusement/fun, feel free to use any of it. Jeez... I think there are about 4,000 there.

Here are a few I like:

Looks like "No washing in the urinal".

Some spiders - very cool looking:

Moving away from the scaling, I think the lighting on mine could have been a whole lot better, if it was ever going to pass as a viable 'fraud' lol

Lighting is tough. The original picture is very light, so... Probably a bad picture to work with.

Something with a bit better color would likely work better, e.g.

It's tough to work with poor source materials. Though when you see the pros do things, it's like magic.

Well, this is still in the code:

But I've not had any drop in surveys since.

So, the company seems to be still employed with WordPress, but they've put a stop to their little shenanigans.

I just want to say that I've always admired mouser for the way in which he responds to these situations.   Most of us would instinctively snap back at what could be construed as rude/obnoxious behavior.

If you ever have to do support, you'll get this and much worse.

Very often it's simply someone becoming very frustrated and then lashing out. It happens. (I've done it myself, occasionally with the help of a little C2H5OH.)

There's an upside though -- A large number of people that do get like this will swing back the other way and become extremely happy and tell other people *IF* you treat them nicely, understand their frustrations, and help them solve the problem.

So, is there anyone with experience with these various tools? If anyone here has experience with these tools, I think they'd be very useful to have listed .

I've used Camtasia Studio and Help & Manual extensively. Both are very good and I'd recommend them.

For Camtasia Studio, their audio tools are extremely weak. They're OK if you're a beginner, but if you want something a notch above, you will need to work in another audio editor to get things done.

Syncing audio and video in Camtasia has been very poor in the past as well. I'm not sure about v7 now though. Hopefully they've improved it.

I think the best way to work with Camtasia is to do the basic work there, then do it in something more powerful like Adobe Premiere, then import back into Camtasia if needed for publication.

Help & Manual improved a LOT when they moved to XML. You can edit the XML directly if you know what you're doing, which is very nice. Publishing across different formats is great.

However, for H&M you MUST use templates properly to get things done right. If you don't, you'll end up with a mess.

Still, they're 2 of the best tools available and highly recommended.

A lot of the sources were sketchy, but even 1...

And while the video had a lot of questionable material, it also had 'experts' that should qualify, but it was still dismissed.

Analogous controversy (violates Godwin's law)
Analogously, holocaust denials often rely on the fact that no gas was found at Auschwitz in the walls/bricks, and this is a core part of the controversy. Omitting it as a part of the controversy is simply wrong as it dismisses the controversy outright. Now, the chambers were torn down then later rebuilt, which explains why no gas can be found there. But that's not the point. There's a difference between dismissal and discussion. But, if you're going to discuss the issue, it's pretty hard to not cite books like "Did 6 Million Really Die?" as they sit at the center of the controversy.

For aspartame, excluding all controversial evidence/positions in an article about controversy is to say that the article should simply be deleted because there is no controversy.

One problem seems that no matter what, there are always politics involved, so there's always going to be... Sigh...

Dunno... It all just seems *too* clean and neat.

For automatic, dunno. :(

But check here:

In the taskbar, right-click on the CMD.exe bar, choose Properties, and then one of the tabs like you see above.

You can adjust the buffer on the first tab.

Don't know if that helps at all...

Wikipedia is not even intended as a primary source as far as I know. It's intended to give information on a subject then refer to *its* primary sources for further information and proper referencing.

Btw Renegade, I presume you've read the Aspartame talk page, it's pretty interesting to watch the back-and-forth:
http://en.wikipedia....s_raised_by_Arydberg
While I'm not a fan of aspartame in general, I'm also a fan of good science and reliable sources. This is especially true given various recent scandals regarding similar "edge" research, like the vaccine-autism controversy. So I don't necessarily feel the page is necessarily *that* biased, it's biased (theoretically) toward an accepted scientific view ("accepted" here meaning peer-reviewed and not found to be faulty, misrepresented, etc.). I didn't see a lot of good, sourced rebuttal from the opposing side in the discussion page unfortunately; mostly it was the editors saying "give us reliable external sources" and then getting a reply like "check this other page that collects theories about the subject", which of course is neither reliable nor an original source. I'd like to believe the opposing argument *is* stronger than that though!

Reading through the talk, I see the same patterns all the time: Controversy then dismissal for reason "X".

Nothing controversial is admitted, and at every stage, if a source meets a criterion, another criterion is introduced. Not RS. Must be purchased. Biased source. Primary source. etc. etc. There is no way anything controversial can be admitted like that. What's the point? There's obviously no controversy then, right?

It's simply too easy to say that no sources that aren't from the FDA or whatever aren't accepted.

I really don't buy into much "official" stuff. It's just a way of creating a club and excluding others. A lot of that seems to be going on. I saw many resources that should suffice, but were dismissed. "No, that's not official enough..." It simply allows continually narrowing the scope of what can be accepted. Documentaries on the topic are dismissed. What more can be done? i.e. There's no satisfying many of the editors there with any anti-aspartame source. As far as they are concerned, all anti-aspartame sources are poison. :P

At some point there has got to be something that can be included as controversial.
