Hi, IBESTFRIEND, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

I want a Software which list product names, Product Description and Product Pictures, A combination of SKWIRE's Two Software i.e. ''epCheck" and "RecursiView" would be a classic example.

Is this data you want displayed available in a free, online database?

1) The vast majority of them are exactly like this yes although I have some that are similar i.e. DEFECT 893-08-070 with a space between the 'T' and 8 , although if I could only process the other ones I would be delighted

These could be handled easily as well.  However, if there are only a few, it's probably easier to do them by hand.

2) The final 'R' is not important at all although I would still like the full filename to remain the same after it has been moved to the folder
Clear as mud??

Yep, no problem.  That's exactly what File Punter was designed to do.

Steps:

1. First of all, if you can spare the space, make copies of your PDFs and place them in a new folder.  This will be your source folder and protects your original PDF files.

2. Download, install, and run File Punter.  You will see a window like this:

2015-12-01_121305.png

3. Choose File > Save as... from the menu and give your profile a name like rasbury.txt or whatever.

4. Click the green plus button and you will see a window like this:

2015-12-01_100539.png

5. Now, there are many ways to solve your request; here is but one:

2015-12-01_100819.png

Pattern: (.*?)R.*?.pdf
Destination: C:\tmp\11 Destination\??1

6. Add the entry as pictured above but make sure you change the souce & destination paths to fit your system.  Leave the parts in red as they are, though.  Ensure the "Pattern is a regular expression" option is ticked.  You should now see something like this in your File Punter window:

2015-12-01_102337.png

7. Tick the checkbox next to the entry, ensure the Method drop-down is set to "Simulation only (test mode)", and click the Start button.

8. A text file should appear showing how the files are going to be moved into the new folders.  Something like this (without the colouring, of course):
C:\tmp\11\893-08-003R2.pdf --> C:\tmp\11 Destination\893-08-003\893-08-003R2.pdf
C:\tmp\11\893-08-004R2.pdf --> C:\tmp\11 Destination\893-08-004\893-08-004R2.pdf
[...]

I highlighted portions in red to show you how File Punter has matched parts of the original filename and then dynamically created the destination folders.

9. If you're satisfied with how the files are going to be processed, change the Method drop-down to "Copy files to destination" or "Move files to destination" and click the Start button.

10. If all goes well, the operation shouldn't take long at all.  Check your destination folder and ensure the PDFs have been copied/moved properly.

This is easily doable with FilePunter, but I do have a couple of questions, first.

  • Is the filename format always this:  893-08-003R2 ?  That is, is it always three numerals, a dash, two numerals, a dash, then three numerals followed by an "R", and a final numeral.  The number of numerals is important.
  • To clarify, the final "R#" does not matter for our purposes, correct?

What you say is pretty much what I require to do although I need to place the PDF's into the folders which I already have set up over on the left of my screenshot which have a very similar file name but not exactly the same.

Can we determine which folder they need to go into from some unique part of the filename?  If so, we should be able to use File Punter to do what you want.  Can you provide me with more detail?  Perhaps an example using a few of your filenames?

What I am having to do at the moment is drag and drop each PDF file into the folders on the left. Again I have literally thousands of these to do and it is proving very time consuming.
Is there a program you are aware of that would let me 'batch attach' these PDF's into the correct folders.

The screenshot you provided is a bit blurry but, from what I can tell, you need to put each of those PDF files into their own folder, correct?  If so, my File Punter application can do that in no time.

It's a bit of an advanced program so I would play around with it on a few copies of your files first (until you become comfortable with it).  If you have trouble figuring it out, let me know and I'll help you.

Hi, rasbury, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

The small problem that I have is that you can only appear to convert up to 15 files at a time to a folder/s.
Is this the maximum you can do or is it possible to do more than this as I have literally 1000's to do..

I did a test with ~160 images and it moved them all without an issue.  I also did another test of ~300 various file types (downloads folder) without issue.  Anybody else experience the issue described above?

I report this in case: (1) with apologies if reported already, and (2) I think it might be a problem with how AHK works with window display i.e. unfixable.

Yes, this is a bug that has haunted me forever when using toolbars in my AHK apps.  It doesn't happen all the time nor does it happen on all systems.  For instance, I just tried your steps listed below and it didn't hang.  Basically, it's a WM_NOTIFY messaging queue issue.  I have spent hours trying to fix it and have made some headway during that time but I've never been fully able to solve it.  Very frustrating.

That said, there is a way to get around having to kill Splat.  If it happens again, alt-tab away from Splat, minimise it via the taskbar, and then focus it again.  It should be responsive at this point.

But when you use the "View" --> "Reset splitter position", that entries column does not resize to 100% width.

Some explanation might be in order here.  I use all sorts of tricks and third-party libraries to make AutoHotkey do things that aren't native to it.  The splitter in sChecklist is an example of that and, unfortunately, it's not without its quirks.  There are times when the splitter gets a bit out of whack and the only thing that fixes it is to use the 'Reset splitter position' option and restart the app.  So, hopefully, it's not something that would get used frequently.  Do you use it frequently?

Hi, Metaphizx, and welcome to the DonationCoder forums.

UPDATE: Ooops, unbeknownst to me there are two columns and the view had simply shifted across. It was only after I did a fresh install that I noticed any divider. Can these columns be customized at all?

No, they can't.  The program normally tries to keep the series ID cloumn hidden (zero-width) but it looks like the cloumn-width saving got a little mixed up on your install.  If it happens again, make sure that listview has focus and press Ctrl+NumpadPlus.  This auto-justifies all columns in the listview so you can then adjust them as necessary.  Please note that the Ctrl+NumpadPlus hotkey isn't specific to epCheck, i.e., it should work on any standard Win32 listview.

Hi, offroad, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

looks like sweather is being blocked in windows 7 professional.  Not sure if its the application that is being blocked, or the yahoo data link that is being blocked.  either way sweather is now no longer working for me.

Seems to be working fine for me on several Win7 Pro/Ultimate systems I run/maintain.  Any other sWeather users experiencing any issues?

Enabling "Run as Administrator" is NOT a solution!

Enough with the exclamation points.  They certainly don't inspire me to fix anything.

Yes, of cause, I enabled it for both programs but it didn't help.
I even disabled UAC completely - it didn't help.
Moreover: Assume missing the Administrator rights would be the culprit: Then it should not work with v2.1 either!
But everything works fine for v2.1. On the same machine for the same SigCheck GUI installation (but different sigcheck.exe)

It might appear to be that simple.  However, because you run an anti-virus program which, usually, interferes with all running processes, this might not be the case.

At least I would expect some warning in SigCheck GUI like "Please run as Adminstrator" or "Warning: Run without Administrator rights".
But silently suppress some information is not smart.

I do not suppress anything.  My application works as designed on my machine and on my XP virtual machine.  This makes it difficult to fix your reported issue.

I would appreciate if you could fix the error.
Thank you

What you need to realise is that this is a front-end for sigcheck.exe.  All I'm doing is "running" sigcheck.exe, just as you would in a DOS prompt on your system, and interpreting its output.  There is no programming voodoo I'm using here.  Past that, you are going to have to research and test why your system is getting this error.  You need start up a DOS prompt and run the different sigcheck.exe versions on the processes you get the blue icon for and see if you can figure out why 2.1 works and 2.2/2.3 do not.

For the record, I can confirm that the input and output syntax between all three versions is the same.  I can also tell you that SigcheckGUI uses the following command-line switches:

  • -q -a (used always)
  • -h (used if the compute hash option is enabled)
  • -v (used if the query VirusTotal option is enabled)

So, a typical commandline for this might look like this:

"c:\path\to\sigcheck.exe" -q -a "c:\path\to\SomeExecutable.exe"

If you enable the other options, it would be like this:

"c:\path\to\sigcheck.exe" -q -a -h -v "c:\path\to\SomeExecutable.exe"

Of course, change the "c:\path\to" portions to match the paths on your system.

867
It seems to me that SigCheck GUI v1.1.0 is incompatible with the sigcheck.exe v2.3 syntax
Could you fix this in a new version?

Works fine for me with v2.3.  Is this the same issue you reported when moving from sigcheck v2.1 to v2.2?  If so, are you running BOTH the sigcheck.exe AND SigcheckGUI.exe with administrator rights?  If you're not, following the instructions in neverlight's last post and see if that solves the problem.

Will filepunter punt folders?

Nope.

Do you see the F2F button in your taskbar at all?  Keep in mind that the window only appears if you have more than one file selected.

IT IS A NIGHTMARE!!! MY FILES2FOLDER ISN'T WORKING - WAHHH WAHHH WHHHH

Try this, please:

  • Download this: http://skwire.dcmemb...folder/Unreg_F2F.zip
  • Extract that zip into some folder.  Right-click the Unregister_F2F_Shell_Extension.exe file and choose Run As Administrator.  That should unregister the shell extension.
  • Put your Files2Folder.exe file where you want and run it with Administrator rights as well.  You MUST run it with Administrator rights. It should ask you if you want to register the shell extension.

Now try right-clicking a file now and let me know.

Long time user, first time poster. SKWIRE first let me thank you for this wonderful little toy I use very often. I ADMIRE your dedication and helpfulness in trying to address all comments and suggestions posted here for sooooo long.

I'm glad you find the program useful and thank you for the kind words.   :)  Welcome to DonationCoder as well.

I wonder if it would be difficult to incorporate in one of next update of this little gem ability to export ALL shows to cvs with status and network. I know it is possible to export episodes of particular show but I think it would be really useful if you can do it for all shows in database (with or without corresponding episodes). Also would it be to difficult to have option to export to HTML format. Just asking  :-[

I've added this to my ToDo list but I just started a new job so my time is pretty limited for the next while.  I'll see what I can do for you.   ;)  BTW, which version of epCheck are you using?

Hi Skwire.  thanks for the excellent tool. I've been using it for quite a while now. I was wondering if you plan to update it any further? If so, I have a request.

I'm glad you're finding it useful.  =]

- the ability to 'refresh all' series at once. Sometimes a series will not be an accurate reflection until it is refreshed.

Depending on which version you're using, it could be done one of two ways:

  • Options tab > Refresh all series data now button
  • Options tab > TV data section > Refresh all series data now button

Unless, of course, I'm misunderstanding your request...

Looking through a few of them, they have the Program Files path. So I guess it's no fault of your program at all. Thanks. :)

Try right-clicking a game, creating a new desktop shortcut, and then checking the path in the new .URL.  If it's correct, then try using SteamURLConverter to create a .LNK out of it.

Skwire Empire / Re: Steam URL Converter

This works for me as far as converting the link to an actual shortcut. But it doesn't work for making the icons appear. It seems the shortcuts look in the standard Program Files directory for Steam and the icons, even though I have Steam installed elsewhere. :(

Strange...I don't appear to have that issue.  I'm using W7/64 with an account that has administrator rights.  If you open up the .URL file in a text editor, what does it have for the IconFile value?
