Not sure how many people have 'booked' copies though. I have booked 2 copies of Pro but I may change my mind before October
-Carol Haynes (July 15, 2009, 11:43 AM)

does that mean you dont have to pay till october ? and have the option to cancel ?
(I'm still indecisive about the english version myself . . )

Yes, I've got to find the factory default password first. Or was it blank?
in case you cant find it I came across this page yesterday related to routers & skype
Your router is here:-
http://www.portforwa...ys/WRT54GL/Skype.htm
if you scroll down a page or so it says
By default the username is blank, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
dont know if that's dependable - sounds odd - no user name but a password, maybe it should be the other way round :-\

here's two that got new homes when I moved abroad - cute huh?

Sam_n_FiFi_m.jpg

sam n fifi . . funny though, they never did get on when they grew up fully. She hit puberty very young and started flirting like mad with all the big toms around the place. He was older but still a teenager and felt (& was) left out - maybe he was already neutered even :-\  (sounds like a dramatic romantic novel lol)
She got neutered after the first litter - each kitten looked like a different one of the toms :tellme: :)

thanks nudone, I think that about most animals - that they are 'are genuinely good and pure', if not it's usually unfortunately because people have corrupted them . .
They're all lovely looking dogs btw

this thread has been very moving at times - thanks all  :-*

this is still valid today (the 'for free' one) - I just tried it.

For those interested in Softmaker office 2008, there is a killer Ashampoo deal (same as Softmaker):

http://r.ashampoo.co...ings/1/090410_en.htm   for $4.99

Or for free if you're quick.

maybe they're bringing out a new version soon

General Software Discussion / Re: WMP & lots of tiny .wav files
« Last post by tomos on July 09, 2009, 01:53 PM »
Actually, I did it on purpose. They gave me a choice to install Quicktime without iTunes.
I don't avoid mp3s because I don't listen to music, I avoid them because it looks so complicated. So, I'll play around with it....

well, before you invest money on music from iTunes, I would definitely read up about it's pros & cons
and good luck  :)  - I mean with the whole music thing, not just itunes!
I have some music on computer now (after having avoided the whole mp3 thing till just this year) and love being able to randomly play tracks - there's albums that I just cant listen to any more, but when I hear a single track unexpectedly I can really enjoy it.

I've now downloaded and installed Real Player, Shockwave & Quicktime w/ iTunes.
You know you dont have to install itunes :tellme: - if you dont listen to music I'd leave it out (even if you do I'd leave it out lol) - you may have to do a bit of research (here or elsewhere) - usually they offer the download without itunes - but not always (the $§%&$)

There are also alternative stripped down versions (Quicktime Alt)

Don't need to remove nircmd. Just update it to v2.37. It doesn't get false positives.
good idea, done that.
i'll still probably remove it in next release, since no one seems to care about my new Tools feature :(

well I've been looking at it and it's making me think I should finally try out LBC . .

Do you have Quicktime installed?
If yes, you could try this:-
go to control panel, open Quicktime, go to filetypes tab and tick mp3 to make Quicktime the default player.
I'm not 100% sure but i think it may open the mp3 in a new tab which isnt ideal either...

Find And Run Robot / Re: Latest FARR Release v2.107.04 beta - Sep 23, 2012

Version 2.68.01 - June 29th, 2009
this one seems to have zapped my settings (not that I had messed with the settings that much) & history
e.g. no longer searches my portable software folder

I guess you could call this user error:

I was typing in some other app when the Install dialog box opened in front with install location so default location (text) was replaced by whatever I was typing. I browsed to install folder C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\
but it installed into folder
C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\FindAndRunRobot
which is then correct I guess . .

Should I simply delete that folder (the extra install) or actually uninstall it (dont want to lose the settings of the 'real' install) ?

What is ImageX ?
-Steven Avery (June 28, 2009, 02:11 PM)
I'm not sure were you asking 'What is ImageX ?' or had you simply forgotten the link :)

ImageX sounds interesting What is ImageX?
Common ImageX Scenarios

ImageX is a command-line tool that enables the creation, the modification, and the deployment of images, by using a shared imaging format across operating system images, including applications. The following scenarios are particularly compatible with the ImageX process.

If you intend to transfer a Windows image to a different computer, you must run sysprep /generalize, even if the computer has the same hardware configuration. The sysprep /generalize command removes unique information from your Windows installation, which enables you to reuse that image on different computers. The next time you boot the Windows image, the specialize configuration pass runs. During this configuration pass, many components have actions that must be processed when you boot a Windows image on a new computer. Any method of moving a Windows image to a new computer, either through imaging, hard disk duplication, or other method, must be prepared with the sysprep /generalize command. Moving or copying a Windows image to a different computer without running sysprep /generalize is not supported.
Creating an Image for Rapid Deployment

The most common scenario for ImageX is capturing and applying an image from a network location for rapid deployment. This scenario requires booting your technician computer into Windows PE, capturing the image with ImageX, putting the image on a network share, and then applying the image to the destination computers.
Modifying an Image File

Another common scenario for ImageX is customizing an existing image, including updating files and folders. This scenario involves adding, removing, editing, and copying files from your image by using the Windows Imaging File System Filter (WIM FS Filter) driver and a file management tool, such as Windows Explorer.

The problem I have with AXEM tho is that it it works great for stopping & starting scripts but has some very erratic behaviour when it comes to stuff it does automatically.
Running the Startup scripts has always been troublesome 4 me - and sometimes it closes all running scripts when you don't expect.
I fiddled with it for about 3 months now - I cudn't give up becos the idea is just 2 useful. :-*
Eventually I accepted the problem is not with the coding but with the structure of AHK itself.
-r0bertdenir0 (June 18, 2009, 06:42 AM)

same here - problems with Axem not keeping scripts open, in particular after hibernation but possibly at other times too.
Would be good to see something new along the same lines

[edit] re the donating - I think programmes often link to the relevant dc thread where people can see the donate buttons. Otherwise I think mouser right: to ask for donations for yourself, or not at all [/edit]
