Maybe PBOL is just trying to keep you on your toes and show you new and creative ways to think about the passage of time..

I have to look into it -- it's been so long since I worked on PBOL.
It sounds like its messing up on the hours display.. Does it *ever* tell you you have X days and Y hours?

This is a brief review for the new cooperative trick-taking card game "The Crew":
https://boardgamegee...ew-quest-planet-nine

TheCrewSmall.jpg

With all the hype this game received, I was full expecting to be let down, but I have to say it's a pretty damn good little cooperative trick taker.

I was recently quite disappointed by the recent 2-player cooperative trick taker "Fox in the Forest Duet", which I felt was overly complicated with uninteresting choices. [The original 2-player competitive game Fox in the Forest is great btw].

But "The Crew" gets it right -- the games are fast and interesting, and the basic rules could not be simpler.

It's really built for 3 or 4 players, but I've found the 2-player variant works surprisingly well, despite sounding awful.  You essentially have a dummy hand that is half-exposed and controlled by one of the players.  But in practice it creates an interesting puzzle element and works well.

The "innovative" part of the game is the fact that you are meant to play it in a "campaign" of 50 missions of increasingly challenging tweaks to the goals.

It's not like a legacy game or a strict campaign -- people can jump in and out, each mission is a standalone thing that simply specifies different kinds of goals that need to be achieved in different orders. So there's no need to keep playing with the same group, etc.

The variety of missions and the short length of the games and the simple rules, makes it ideal for non-hardcore gamers.  Yet the strategy is rich enough to make it interesting for more serious gamers.  And the campaign of games essentially gives everyone time to get more sophisticated as they learn how to play better over the sequence of games.

Highly recommended, both for 2 players, and for mixed family groups during vacations, etc. .

yes.

I think what I need to do is tweak the CHS rule system to allow it to better ignore formats early and not try to access them.. and maybe that, combined with ignore CF_METAPICT format for excel, will solve the problem.

Still what I'd really like to do is be able to reproduce the problem locally so I could test it better.

You should find the Grab Selected Region near the top of the right-click menu when you right-click on Screenshot Captor icon in your bottom right system tray.

Can you check something first -- SC has a few different ways of rendering the screenshot when it is too big for the window, which can result in it looking blurry.
Can you check the next time it looks blurry that its not viewing at less than 100% magnification?
If you double click the image in the thumbnail and view it outside of SC at full scale magnification does it then look better?

You should be able to left click+hold on an empty space and then drag your cursor up to the top.
Note you won't see much visual feedback till your cursor gets to the top of the window.

I've been watching this series of AI-related podcast interviews by Lex Fridman, from MIT.. Some of them are incomprehensible cutting-edge physics discussions, but are still interesting.
Many of these interviews are with people who have been very influential in the kind of AI research that I was involved with -- people trying to understand big picture issues of how to build machine learning that works in ways similar to the way the brain.

Just a little reminder that folks should send some donationcredits to the coding snack authors if they can (or in Vic's case you can even support his patreon).
Let's support the coders that are helping out!

Can you reproduce the problem -- and tell me how to reproduce it? Maybe send me an excel file that triggers the error? ([email protected])
817
I misunderstood your post -- I thought you were saying the error occurred when you were pasting into Excel, now I see it's a weird clipboard error when trying to copy from inside excel, is that right?
818
Go to the main chs window, select the clip you are going to paste, and then click the Blob Info tab.
819
What a strange error..
Are you using the latest alpha of CHS that supports multiple formats?
Can you paste a screenshot of the error?
Assuming you are using the alpha of CHS, can you paste a screenshot of your CHS blob data view of the paste?

Sorry for the delay in replying -- your post originally was hidden and I only now noticed it.

I think you can do what you want if you tell SC that after each capture it should show the main form.. Then you won't have to confirm that you want to Save Image and Show each time.
(in fact I *never* use that pop-up post capture dialog -- I always either have SC set to show after each capture or stay minimize).

Then after you edit your image, press the little button near the bottom right that looks like an organge clipboard icon, that will copy your saved changes to the clipboard.
(if it asks you to confirm that you want to save your settings and you don't like to hit Ctrl+S first to save, you can change the SC options to tell it to always save your changes without asking).

Hope that helps!
