-maybe, but that is not quite what they are saying:

 (see attachment in previous post)

But Office 2010 would be worth it, of course.

oh I missed that & went to buy page for Office 2010 and put in the "birthday" coupon & it went down to $10 - but I didnt actually purchase
so... :-\

it is ("of course"?) only for "old" versions who are just about to be replaced, such as Burning Studio 9, Photo Commander 8, UnInstaller 4, etc.

to anyone who doesnt have it already: go get it  !!!

[edit] see below - it looks like it doesnt include Office 2010 :( [/edit]

PS I tried to use SFFS to sync my Roboform data with Roboform's online backup service (https address) and SFFS couldn't handle it. It did ask for my login credentials and I've confirmed that it's set up correctly. Don't know if this is to do with Roboform wanting to get people to buy their own GoodSync software as well? At any rate, I mention this in reference to the S3 query. I *suspect* that this will be an issue with S3 as well, though I have no way to test it.
hmmm

Just thinking I could test it by setting it up (SFFS => S3) and then simply continuing to use Jungle Disk to check the contents of the S3 'Bucket' & see if the backup is actually working (you could go this route as well Jim)
as to when I might get around to trying that, I cant say :p :)

are either of you using SFFS with Amazon S3 online data storage? I use Jungle Disk for that now but since they were purchased by Rackspace they very much want users to switch to using Rackspace's Online Disks instead of the Amazon S3 Buckets. Twice now with updates they changed mine over to Rackspace and I went through a lot of crap to get it all back to S3. So I'd love to dump Jungle Disk and use SFFS. Apparently SFFS can be used with Amazon S3 but I don’t think it has a UI to browse your files and folders there directly. Or at least it doesn’t in V.4 - maybe V.5 has changed this.

I'm still using a pretty old version of Jungle Disk (2.10a - I was wary of updating after the change of ownership cause it wasnt at all clear to me how it would work and/or cost)

I dont think SFFS allows you to browse files on S3 (I'm sure that would have been written big in the new features!)
Are there currently any other ways of showing S3 locally?

( Fairly Off topic:- have you reasons you dont want to use Rackspace storage ? )

Free? Wow - that's amazingly generous! So V.5 is working good for you? Stable?

Yeah, sorry, I managed to miss the "5" when I typed SFFS above. I've been running SFFS 5 preview for months with no problems at all.

Here's the posting about the upgrade (hope I've interpreted it correctly!):

http://www.backupcre...de-options-t105.html

Mike, have you installed the beta separately from your V.4 install - or on top of it?

Re the upgrade cost he does say
"any license includes at least two years of free upgrades and updates" so it may depend on when the license was bought...

hi esoito !
welcome to dc :)
7808
is this any help:

I'm looking for a simple clipboard programme for capturing multiple items of plain text such as web site URLs and so on to a single text file.
[...]
Each time I copy a piece of text to this clipboard it should be added to the end of the list without deleting the existing contents.

You could try the last free version of ClipCache, 1.41, available from e.g. http://www.woundedmoon.org/ legacy Windows software links (other repositories have it as well).  It normally saves each clip separately, but once you have it running, right-click on the tray icon and select Append Text Captures.  If you want something simpler that does just what you want and no more, there was a 1994-vintage PC Magazine utility by Robert Lausevic called PasteBoard, and an unrelated 2005 one of the same name by Mike Sanders but that one seems to have escaped from my hard disk  - ah, found it online: http://fuzzbox.hyper...asteboard/index.html

You may also like to know that Horst Schaeffer's command-line utility ClipText for transferring text between files and the clipboard also has an append feature.
7809
ClipX (www.clipx.org)
claims to be able to paste items 1 to 9 from the clipboard via shortcutkeys plus [1 to 9] but just trying it out now: it's not working for me...

It does paste the first two entries in the same order as they are copied
~ copy me first
~ copy me second

using shortcut Ctrl+Alt+V [then hitting enter] twice in a row, I get them pasted in the same order
~ copy me first
~ copy me second

I know there's been quite a few different mini-apps related to copy paste here at dc - have you done a search?

But, would you use the site? ;)

lol - I dont use RAW - I just following the discussion & like keeping track of things photographic

:) any other takers ??

If voting were involved, imagine a statistics are that shows the most highly voted processing results, and aggregates them across RAW processors, taking numerical result representation into account (i.e. if one app does not have as many processed results as another it is noted as a less accurate result, but is not "punished").

you'd have to be careful with voting - the problem Rob (I think that's his name - Sagelight) pointed out was that initially people were choosing the conversion that was damaged over the one that was better converted. But I guess you'd be aware of that...

Living Room / Re: UK amateur photographers: if you're good, don't use Boots!

Re Ireland, I thought it was the policies in the 80's of focusing on reducing debt that laid a good foundation for the boom times (I'm not saying joining the euro currency didnt help!) -
then when people who had emigrated (in the 80's there wasnt much else to do) returned as things got better, they needed houses or flats. So the initial 'boom' caused another boom - but like in the US the banks got greedy and were giving huge mortgages to people who could only pay them back as long as things kept getting better... so you calling it a bubble is pretty apt.
Corruption didnt help :-(

It means that the UK is freer to decide its economic policies in its own interests rather than having to be limited by the needs/preferences of other countries.

thanks Dormouse, I'm not so good on the details (i.e. I simply didnt know)

The EU is still very mixed - seems to me that most countries have at least some odball ideas/plans for their citizens. UK seems to want to hold back from involvement in EU, which I can well understand (but it is often expressed in ways that I personally dont understand e.g. not joining in with the Euro) -
but,
my point is: I dont think UK is a 'template for the rest of Europe' at any rate (of course that doesnt mean eu countries wont start following their example!)

Is Brussels to blame? I don't think so - not unless in a few years we see that the UK was just a template for the rest of Europe.

Whatever...

You can now watch all of it for free via the web.
