(And a more polite time, too. It's very weird to hear people talking on the phone in the public restroom while taking a dump.)
I hate working in phone support and hearing the customer use & flush the toilet while talking to me...
Please tell me that this is not true  :o

It doesn't happen that often, but it has happened to me personally multiple times.

Anyone besides App103 still using Wakoopa? I noticed it in her signature and just signed up.

If you've given it up, is there a particular reason why? If you've still got it, how have you liked it over the past year since this thread started?

It was intentional. Have a read of the comments of last week's news.

Ehtyar.

I realize it was intentional. What I'm saying is that I'm one of the people who isn't heaping praises on it. I don't like it and I think it's pointless.

But that's just my opinion. If people really like it then keep it. I'll just continue to ignore it like I did this time.

LOL Deo! Do we have a dunce award or something around here? :P

Ehtyar.

My point was that I feel the second post (with spoilers) is redundant and unnecessary. So other than seeing that it was exactly the same post but with spoilers, I completely ignored it.

I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, but if you're right clicking a file (with the exception of a shortcut) wouldn't you already be exploring that directory?

All you folks talking about the new format... Are you talking about the first post or the second post? I completely ignored the second post because of its redundancy.

Thanks for the weekly news, Ehtyar!

I joined exactly two years ago, 25'th October 2006, so my status is shown with two boxes. Deozaan joined 2 yrs 9 months ago, which is rounded up to 3 boxes. No four boxes can yet be found, but if I understood the principle, they will show up within a month?? The five-box people are moderators.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

All kidding aside, I'm pretty sure it has more to do with "status". It goes something like this: One-boxers are people who haven't donated. Two-boxers are people who have donated. Three-boxers are people who donated during the Charter Member periods (early times of DC) or are honorary members. Not sure about Four-boxers. Five-boxers are moderators and admins and mouserers.

I know it sounds death defying but try hovering over each one

Nothing happens. Unless you mean physically hovering my body above them. :)

Just out of curiosity, could somebody please tell me what the little gold, pink, and blue boxes beneath our names mean?

It's a symbol of our status and incredible powers!

Two-boxers like you are clearly inferior to a high ranking three-boxer like me. :P ;) ;D

I've got a pretty good idea based on who has what, but does anybody know exactly what they represent?

Exactly? Er... Um... Yeah, I don't know either. But now you know my best guess. :D

So far, Outlook 2007's Junk Filter is doing "all right" on my installation. Will definitely look at the GMail solution, though. It's free and it sounds ridiculously hands-off!

And besides all that, you get access to Gmail's awesome archiving/search features. I can't tell you how many times I suddenly remembered a topic of conversation (either via GTalk IM or e-mail) from several months or even years ago and wanted to find that link or file or whatever. It only takes a few searches at most before I find it.

Also just the way that e-mails are organized into conversations (almost like a forum thread) make following a particular topics so easy. Gmail just rocks!

To be honest, I didn't understand this topic either until mouser explained. :-[

So in other words, perhaps a more clear topic is:

If you can't afford OCRw (Optical Character Recognition) to help in automatically creating a bunch of MySpace accounts, then get a bunch of freeloaders (people coming for cracks) to do the work for you!

Congratulations, Carol!

Sorta like the old puzzle question:

What word in the English language would it not be possible to know which way to pronounce if it were capitalized and not used in a sentence? (Answer: Polish)

I'm sure there are others as well. ;)

Another example: Wind.

In other news, I just hit 2,000 posts.

Interesting trivia-[...]

Yeah, the Wikipedia article on Pascal's Trianglew goes into detail on some of the patterns found in that triangle, and I'm discovering a few of them myself from my studies.

I think what he's showing us is that one site (a crack site) is having people solve the MYSPACE captcha in order to download a file.

There is a term for this though i can't recall it at the moment.

Sounds like Captcha Phishing.

Yes, I'll take credit for entering that term into the official lexicon. :-D
