In related news, there's a group of people making a Half-Life remake called Black Mesa, which is a total conversion mod to the Source Engine.

Having just played through the entirety of Half-Life in the past two weeks I just have to say that the video looks awesome!

For more information and the video, check out the Joystiq article I found this information from:

you have to scour your posts with a fine tooth comb -- go over every word multiple times -- read it aloud to yourself -- get your friends to proof read it, and only then is it safe to post and have even a slim chance of escaping Chris' pun processing machine.

[Off-Topic]
I found out a few weeks ago that my English 102 teacher absolutely hates puns. :o How can you like English enough to spend your life teaching it but not enjoy playing around with the words?

What's with the prices thoguh? 65 quid for a mug?

This shop has been set up as a way to thank those people who are making unusually large donations to DonationCoder.com. The items in this store have been marked up substantially, so that we receive from $50 to $75 of each purchase; this is your donation to our site.

You'd probably get a good riddance the likes of which the world has never before seen. So that should count for something. ;) :P

Here is a cap of the mail:

I'm not sure that it's a good idea to post a screen shot of your serial code, even if it is worthless without the Key ID.

Anyone care to shed some light on the details?

it's been a long time but doesn't Freeman goes into some kind of portal at the end? from which he makes his entry in HL2

also this might help: http://www.gamefaqs....win/file/43362/54040

Hmm... I don't remember Gordon starting from a portal in HL2. I thought it was just on a train again. Been too long since I played that one, too, apparently...
7611
In other news, and bringing the thread back on topic, I finished Half-Life yesterday. Very good game. But I don't see how the ending relates to the beginning of Half-Life 2.

Anyone care to shed some light on the details?

Once again, I can only suggest you try tech support or the forums that are specifically for this game. The people here at DonationCoder are a helpful bunch, but for something like technical support for a game, you really ought to contact the people who made the game or find a forum dedicated to the game to see if anyone else has had similar problems and found a solution.

Not all of them. Just most of them.

I think it's okay to have the option but I didn't like that they decided to automatically change my theme for me. I think I switched it back to the Classic style.

I'm indifferent to the themes. I don't see myself using them, but I'm not opposed to the choice being there for other people.

Transaction complete. Enjoy the game!

For everybody else: Only 1 hour left!

Okay, so here's an update:

I just found out that this offer ends at NOON PST. That's less than 3 hours from now. Also, for me to gift it to you with your Steam user name, we actually need to add each other to our friends lists. So if you don't want to do that, then I'll need your e-mail address instead of your Steam user name.

Hurry! Time's almost up!

So, you think you're free of stupid idiots, eh?

Time for another limerick, perhaps... :o

Hey! >:( As someone who helped create that limerick, I resemble that remark! :P

By the way, if anyone needs me to "gift" it to them on Steam, I'll happily take a DonationCredit as compensation. Actually, that works out to 2 cents in my favor, so if you can do it yourself that's probably better. But just thought I'd offer in case there were any weird geographical limitations or something similar.

If you take me up on this offer, include your Steam user name in the message box for the DonationCredit transfer. You'll also need to add me to your friends list. My Steam user name is Deozaan.

Either that or give me your e-mail address in the DonationCredit transfer and you will receive an e-mail telling you how to get the game on Steam.

EDIT: Updated instructions.

Steam is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Half-Life by reducing the price of Half-Life 1 to just $0.98. As someone who absolutely loved the original Half-Life but for some reason never finished it, I'll be snatching up this deal! UPDATE: The deal has ended.. Sorry if you missed out!

Here's an excerpt from my review from The Best Games You've Never Played thread:

Half-Life 1 was incredible to me because it was the first FPS game (I know of) that actually had a real story about why you were going around killing things. It was the total opposite of the macho FPS "Bad Dude" games of the day like Doom, Quake, or Duke Nukem 3D. You weren't there because you were a tough mofo and the world/universe relied on you for its survival. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and you're just trying to get out alive. You don't even start out with a weapon. When you first encounter the enemies, you've got to RUN! Plus, the way it loaded sections of the game kept you interested in the story because you were always trying to survive one disaster after another. There was no transition between levels where you could look at your statistics and save and rest and relax. It would have made a great sci-fi book (or dare I say movie?) if properly adapted.

Why are you still reading this? Hurry up and buy it!

Being hijacked is a hell of a way to get the sites noticed  I usually prefer if people just "stumble" us ;)

It didn't take being hijacked for me to notice HitC. I've been a silent follower of HitC and the Codex ever since they were announced here.

Oy, I pulled the plug on it. I didn't realize anyone actually used it.

My guess is that no one really does. But if that's the case, maybe you should edit your previous post to say that the sandbox is no longer available.

Deozaan: I just manually typed in the looong feedburner RSS URL from your google reader screenshot, and it works just fine here. Perhaps something is wrong with google reader, or somebody has done some DNS poisoning?

It must be Google Reader. I just typed it in too and it took me to the appropriate website. Anyone know what can be done to notify Google about this?
7625
Also, I figured I should note that this is from Google Reader. None of the images are loading properly anymore and the URL the words "Monday, Monday" links to when I click is shown in the Address Bar.

It says Head in the Clouds in the URL, but it takes me to that malware site.
