Found Deals and Discounts / WinRAR: 1/3 off
« Last post by Tuxman on December 04, 2016, 08:34 AM »
Looks like there is a notable offer:

https://shop.win-rar...purl-winrar_tipradar

Not sure when it will expire though. After having played with Bandizip for a couple of weeks, I might, however, give WinRAR another spin for this price.

I wish anyone would see a difference anyway. :(

Actually, I wasn't banned but deleted due to said ego problems.
So if I were you, I wouldn't judge XYplorer by its author. Of course it's still pretty good software.

A developer with serious ego problems, I might add.

Orthodox File Managers are, due to their nature, far from being Win8'ed (with the exception of the freeCommander which is a good example for the other side of uglyness). Also, if your preferred OFM stops being updated (or starts to look weird) one day, you can easily use most of its competitors without having to learn new hotkeys.  8)

But there is a major difference between a "classic style" and a "horribly outdated look". My SpeedCommander uses the classic white-on-blue color theme, but it still looks good. Can you imagine what it could be?

Actually, it's not. It's only the most obvious complaint.

Still ugly as fuck.

As I couldn't find a rule about NANYing projects which have mostly been released for eight months, I'll better refrain.  ;)

Could you show parsed RSS examples?

Sure.

You could enter this in the NANY 2017 thread, it's a very nice project

Thank you. But does it qualify?

For those who waited for me to add a web interface because CLI applications are so 90s: You're welcome.

edit: Now with "Add a new feed" functionality.

(Also, the sidebar looks less bad now.)

I might or might not participate this year, depending on whether I can finally stop working on five projects at the same time.

I'm positive that this is rather a proxy than a VPN.

Also: LOL, Opera. They have been dead since their WebKitization. Their good devs are all working for Vivaldi now.

These Hitler videos make me sad because I actually understand the real text.

Anyway, it's rather "why anything else?" than "why C++?" for me.

I meant that the bad quality of the Lazarus fC is not caused by Lazarus.

So the only difference is the money. I doubt that will make the application worse.
The fC has always been a quite overly colored application.

That's not Lazarus's fault, though. Delphi doesn't really make a difference.

Lazarus doesn't change functionality. However, I made the experience that freeware file managers - except FAR, of course - are notably worse than their commercial pendants, usability-wise.

According to the v12 change list nothing valuable (for me) is added. (But I'm quite happy with my combination of x² and SC anyway.)

I'm happy to be out of my PHP/MySQL day job. I wonder why the language is fixed anyway.
