General Software Discussion / DVDProfiler 3.0 is finally out !
« Last post by crono on April 17, 2007, 06:40 PM »
a new version of the best DVD Manager has been released  :-* After 2 Years of silence and no public release, the new Version 3.0 is out. The price remains the same - 30 $ for lifelong updates (one-time fee). If you have an extensive DVD Movie Collection check out http://www.invelos.com (the new Homepage) I absolutely love this tool  :-*

General Software Discussion / Re: Looking for a "FTP-Size" tool
« Last post by crono on March 18, 2007, 11:59 AM »
Hi,
today I scripted such a tool. It runs eighter on your Server or from your client. It Exports all files found into a CSV file (so you can order it simply by filesize). You can specify a limit to log only files which are greater than - for example - 500kb. I attach it - feel free to use it. The zip contains:
- a commandline version (the PHP Version compiled to a standalone exe File)
- a PHP5 Version for running on your server
- a PHP5_cli version

Requirements:
- commandline : none
- web-version : PHP5
- cli-version : PHP5, pear Console/Getopt.php

Usage:
- web-version : see index.php
- cli-version : php cli_ftpquota --host="x" --user="x" --pass="x" [options]
- commandline : ftpquota.exe --host="x" --user="x" --pass="x" [options]

Run it without any options for help

Parameters:

-h    --host          hostname
-u    --user          username
-p    --pass          password
-s    --silent        avoid output to stdout
                      default = false
-e    --exportfile    Filename for the exported CSV File. Enter "true"
                      for default name.
                      default = false
-l    --limit         Only show files with a filesize above the limit in
                      Kilobytes
                      default = 0 (no Limit)

Please report me any Bugs or feature requests...

bye :-)

//edit: I removed the zip temporary, because my virus scanner gave me an alert...

General Software Discussion / Re: Lookinjg for a "FTP-Size" tool

I remember that I already had a tool which does this thing :-* (years ago). I think it was called ftpsize - I searched but couldn't find it on the web anymore... I believe the producer was a company (or site) called albinoblacksheep (or something like that) - but not the Flash Movie guys :) - ah this is confusing... I'll take a nap  ;)

Hi f0dder,

thanks for the suggestions. I'm running on a shared Host and the only SITE Commandos available are CHMOD, IDLE and UTIME. ls -lR seems to be disabled also. I think Im going to script it by myself...

General Software Discussion / Lookinjg for a "FTP-Size" tool
« Last post by crono on March 17, 2007, 09:18 AM »
Hi,

I need to check some FTP-Quotas. Is there a Tool which connects to the FTP-Server, lists the files and sums up the filesize? In the best case it runs from the commandline and exports the file -> size list in a Excel importable format. Any suggestions?

thx

That is standard. Any disk cloning software will do the trick. [/url].
Really? Cool - I only knew Imaging tools, which do it "one partion to one big binary file" way. Thanks - I will try DriveImage XML

General Software Discussion / How to clone large HDDs?
« Last post by crono on January 28, 2007, 12:48 PM »
Hi Guys,

my primary HDD with the OS's installed (XP and Debian) is slowly, but surely, going to die. my HDD-Life SMART Monitor tells me it is 74% OK which is for me way to low for ignoring it :( I got a second - unused - drive (self model). I want to put it in my external case 1 and the new HDD in the external case 2 and copy it (Lowlevel) with my laptop 1-to-1. Is this possible (with all the partitions an the bootmanager...)? If the  Linux Ext3 partition is the problem I would leave it, but Windows should be cloned the the other disk. Backing up an image to DVD is not an option (160 GB) an a total new Installation should also be avoided. Any Ideas?

Hi,

adding
#menu_right{
position:absolute;
}
to your "ie6_or_less.css" should fix it :)

Very cool tool  :-* - I think this could replace my "project_backup2ftp.bat" files :) - Can the upload be triggered from the commandline (I use windows-shutdown scripts to backup everytime I shutting down the system)? I dont know if this is the right place for feature ideas, if not, just ignore them... Here I go:
  • It would be cool if the App recognices only changed files for incremental Backups
  • It should be possible to zip the folder or the changes files and setting a password for the zip
  • If it has an option to encrypt (gnugpg for example) the zip before uploading it would be near to perfect :)

thx for the tool

bye bye

Swift released a few month ago - in an early version. It lacks nearly all features right now, but it is really ok for Browser testing (and its lightning fast!)

http://www.getswift.org/ (it looks like the page is down right now - google for "swift_0.1.msi")

bye

« Last post by crono on October 09, 2006, 10:58 AM »
Hi folks,

Im searching a way to tag all kind of files in Windows Explorer. Example: I listen to a lot of Podcasts, so I want rightclick on one MP3 File and apply "toListen" to it, to differ from old and new ones... Or add "*****" for high rated files... Do you know an App which provides me this features?

Developer's Corner / WANTED: Delphi guy for tiny app
« Last post by crono on September 19, 2006, 02:17 PM »
Hi Coders :)

I have a question which doesn't really fit to the Coding Snack section, so I post it here.
Has anyone of you expirience with "Absolute Database" from ComponentAce (Delphi / C++)? The Download for personal use is free, but it does not work with Delphi Personal Edition (which is the only one I have). I need a simple commandline App, which allows me to connect to a DB, fire some queries and getting back the resultset. Background info: I use a PIM which does not offer automatic exports and syncing. But I know that the Data is stored in an AbsolutDB Database. ODBC is not an option :(. I figure something like this

export -dbfile="../../pim.db" -queryfile="../export.sql" -outfile="../export.xml"

The Outfile could be as simple as
<resultset>
    <row>
        <column_name1>value</column_name1>
        <column_name2>value</column_name3>
        <column_name3>value</column_name3>
    </row>
</resultset>

So the question is: Did anyone know a tool which provides me this? Or is someone in the right mood coding the little thing?
