Actually I do try Windows first to see if I can copy files. But it doesn't do any good when Windows doesn't see the drive. But Linux can. I usually use UBCD for a lot of stuff, but in my last case, it didn't do me any good.
So I thought instead of using a live cd, i would just install Linux. But I guess with a live cd, i can always get the latest and greatest release.
I am somewhat familar with all the ones you listed above.

I have been trying out some Linux rescue disks like BootMed, Avira Rescue Disk, UBCD for windows hard drive recovery. I am considering installing Linux on a old computer just for this purpose. Is there a certain distro that comes with lots of recovery tools built into the OS?

I am looking for some kind of app be it desktop, online or what that does flowcharting, mind mapping, or diagramming, whatever you want to call it.
I know a lot can be done with spreadsheets but I have no idea how to start.
all I want is boxes with names and phone numbers inside of them. I don't want lines connecting the boxes. Just to be able to drag a shape, edit the text and add the next one. I would like to see something that auto arranges. Auto arrange by inserting a new box in between 2 existing and then it automatically moves the others to allow the new one to be in place just like the others. Same thing when I would change the page margins or paper size.
It doesn't need a chromebook app to work, preferrably in the cloud and integrates with google drive.
I have looked at Mindmeister, Mindmup, Mindmaps, Gliffy, Lucidchart. Lucidchart is the closest but it doesn't auto arrange.
Particularly these: 1-6, 16, 25, 42, 46, 64, 70, 75, 79, 81. too numerous to mention by name. I couldn't find the road runner and Wiley e coyote on the list, maybe that was later.

We have one of the older Phasers at one of our schools. makes a nice copy but its expensive to operate. The maintenance kit gets replaced every 40k pages. Have problems with the control panel display too.

This has probably been around the block a time or two, so here goes another round.
I am needing to make a tutorial on how to log into a domain on win 7 and also to change users. I have googled this but apparently do not have the right keywords to find what I want.
It can either be a "screenshot utility" or one that makes a movie. Whatever it is, it needs to be able to record when no one is logged into the computer.

If you click the link in the OP, there are more links at the top of the page. those first two are what we get out here in west central Kansas(rural). Its a big problem for us because our school uses a alert system to notify parents of no school, etc.. Those telcos using a 3rd party to deliver the message do not want to pay for access to our telco. hence the call gets dropped.

Deozaan, they are the muffler on a car. but they are not stock mufflers. Glass packs are usually a little louder that stock. If done correctly they will have that sweet rumble sound and cackle when you back off the throttle.
What SeraphimLabs is talking about is your 4 and 6 cylinders sound like a buzz or sometime a sewing machine.
And then you have those, usually pickups that are just LOUD and sound horrible.
