Getting back to the original post, this kind of question has been discussed by philosophers who work in areas of artificial intelligence.. At one point does a simulation of a mind (or society) become a first-class thing deserving of the kinds of things we believe are due to living animals..

Can you guys try the new MiniCap (v1.30) beta:

v1.30.01 - Aug 10, 2014 - what's new

[BugFix] Region capture sizes were off by one.
[MinorFeature] Main window now shows on taskbar (when main window is shown).
[MinorFeature] Image dimensions are now shown on main window.
[MinorFeature] Selection is cleared after new captures.
[BugFix] Image starts out blank if MiniCap launched with no commandline parameters.
[Feature] Updated with new scrolling capture code from big brother tool Screenshot Captor.
[MinorFeature] Previous foreground window is restored after exit.

exactly.
wish such a large volume, you do not want to do normal file copying for this scenario. it will take too long, be too much stress on the drive, and too prone to permission or other errors.

you want to do a drive image or a drive clone; in other words make a low level copy of the entire drive.

these days i use Macrium Free version for such things.

It's been so long since I worked on ESR -- here is a minor update to fix a bug with recording large videos; i'm not sure if i've fixed the thing with the countdown timer still being shown -- let me know.
There are still a lot of rough edges on this tool -- I'd like to get it minimally usable..

the error is just telling you what DLL file it occurred in. it does not mean there is a problem with that DLL. and simply replacing DLLs is a great way to mess up your system even worse. only replace a DLL file if it's clear you have an out of date version and you have a trusted source for a new one, and there is no better upgrade process that will do it for you.

This was a bug in a recent Screenshot Captor, so I just need to rebuild MiniCap and it should be fixed. I've been delayed releasing some updates recently, but I will really try to get it done this weekend.

Just an FYI:

Dual booting is always a bit hairy because it requires modification to the boot procedure.

What I much prefer is to use an internal drive rack as your primary hard drive, and just slot in and out different boot drives.

Though these days, virtual machine software (like VmWare) is often the most convenient approach to running additional operating systems and "virtual" machines.

It's great to see you enthusiastic about our NANY events -- one of our favorite things.

However, the way we do NANY is that we do it at the end of each year -- so the next NANY will be NANY 2015, which we will start encouraging coders to start discussing in a few months, but then only unveil entries near the end of the year.

In short: You should probably remove your collection from your first post since NANY 2014 has ended, and NANY 2015 hasn't started yet

I just left Saffron at the vet to be put under general anesthesia, so that they could try to extract the tooth/teeth that are causing her pain (that's what she originally went in for 2 weeks ago when her health suddenly took a turn for the worse and the vet found her advanced kidney disease).

The vet said there was a good chance she would not survive the anesthesia because of her kidney/heart/age problems but I felt that if I were in her place I would want to take the chance in order to relieve the pain. Please continue to think positive thoughts for her.
