A more reasonable alternative explanation for the behavior that many on the youtube thread are suggesting, is that the dog is trying to "bury" the fish, the way dogs bury other kinds of food (videos available on youtube).

The dog sniffed the dead fish (touching his nose to the fish) which was so putrescently odiferous that he was trying to scrub his nose clean on the wet pavement.

i don't think that's even a remotely plausible description of the dog's behavior.

Have you tried rebooting?
Anyone else with new Windows 8.1 have this same problem?

Holy cow that dog+fish video blew my mind.  Amazing.  That has to be one of the most remarkable videos in this long thread.
What an incredible dog.

And I can't help but notice the humans are laughing in the background while the dog seems genuinely concerned and troubled.

Strange.. I didn't think URL Snooper had to be run as admin..
Anyone else have this error?

Have you selected a non-standard language?

If i'm understanding you correctly, what you are asking is that the vertical scrolling method, in addition to "simulate keypresses (PgUp/PgDn)" add an option "simulated keypresses (UpArror/DownArrow)",
something like that?

General Software Discussion / Re: Chrome and Malware detection
« Last post by mouser on August 15, 2014, 12:32 PM »
I've seen it and I agree with wraith -- this is yet again a move by one of the big corporations to "protect" users by penalizing and scaring people about the software made by small independent coders.
It is an irresponsible act that inevitably penalizes the small guys and pushes everyone towards products made by large corporations with the clout and money to be whitelisted.

Ok my test shows its working fine on a test machine, so there must be something unusual going on.

Can you tell me how you are installing -- are you using the portable version or the setup version?
What operating system?
Did you download previously a custom language file?
Are you using a custom language?
Are you installing over a previous installation that used to work?

Can you try downloading the portable zip version and unzip it into a new folder and try running it from there and see if you get the same error?

Can you try this version:

If you still get the error, you'll have to tell me a bit more about your scenario.

Hi cucumi.
It looks like perhaps I didn't properly include the latest language translation file.  Let me try to upload a new build this weekend.

"Consciousness and the Brain: Deciphering How the Brain Codes Our Thoughts" by Stanislas Dehaene.
Just started it, but so far so good.  Looks like a good book to recommend to people who want a more scientific, less fuzzy, take on consciousness.

Having finished this book, I can highly recommend it to anyone interested in the science of consciousness.  It is free of hand-waving and silliness, and is focused on empirical observations rather than philosophical convolution.

You won't find too much computational discussion in the book, and Dehaena's Global Workspace theory is a bit light on details, but I do think it's a step in the right direction, which captures a core piece of what consciousness is.

Living Room / Re: Do you use a Portrait mode monitor?
« Last post by mouser on August 14, 2014, 12:04 PM »
In theory it seems perfect for coding.
But I have a 27" monitor; in portrait mode it's just too tall to comfortably look at -- at least on my desk and viewing distance.  It's too much of a neck strain to look up to top.

ok, so what i could do is add an option that says not to switch to the target window when taking a screenshot of a target app window, i think that will do what you want.
the only side effect from that will be that it won't be able to capture the semi-transparent effects on the target window background.

thoughts?
