Mouser's Zone / Re: issue with automatic screenshotter
« Last post by Ath on May 12, 2017, 01:59 PM »
(remote, ok, but that doesn't matter I think)
I beg to differ in opinion by experience. The most annoying screen-, and keyboard- for that matter, issues I have experienced where when using (any) remote desktop control software. They do actually manipulate the video-buffers directly, by their drivers or in other ways, so that would have been my nr.1 suspect in your situation.

- menu from tray icon and from application are not captured at all (not true, some work),
I only see cursor over pushed button, but menu is not on screenshot.
Maybe some video-driver (updates available from the manufacturer, don't rely on Windows Update for that) or AV related issues?

what you probably could do is find a 3rd party mouse "gesture" type program that lets you trigger certain hotkeys when you do certain things with the mouse.
Sounds like Just Gestures would fit that task just nicely. (Freeware, no longer maintained)
When in need of a little more power and possibly support, StrokesPlus should be a candidate. (Freeware, Lua-scriptable) (Both: no connections, just did a google search ;))

Dear ital2, please stop messing up the tread-title without any need, it is very confusing for us, readers. TIA.

so I could prove that even though I may be crazy, I didn't hallucinate that it did say cappuccino!
I've read that too, so I can be your witness ;)

That is the part I couldn't find either :tellme:

Been a TLB user since version 1.0 (and maybe even used betas before that, can't recall anymore) around 2002/2003, and the 1 feature that's pulling me back every time is the open-menu-on-hover that can be, quite detailed, configured. Avoids having to click to open a menu, very rsi-preventing, imho. And it may help that I got my license for free after translating the UI to Dutch :) (stopped maintaining that from v.3... when the api/procedure changed significantly)

will I get a discount?
I expect all you get is lemons... :tellme:

Please state all your requirements before we jump to conclusions and have to recapitulate later, when you formulate more 'wishes'.
The current slim list sounds like you have never done any programming before, so maybe you can elaborate on what you want to try to achieve.

Non-Windows Software / Re: Android 6 tablet Cmd keys?

Have you dared to press them already? :-[ ;D ;D ;D
735
it can be very frequently used by people
"Alt" is about the worst key to use for something like this, as it is used for nearly every hotkey in every application, and it has the function of activating hotkey-underscores in the menu of standard 'classic' (Win32/WinForms) Windows UI applications when pressed once.
Only usable keys would probably be "Shift" or the hardly ever used "Scroll Lock".

I've had a look at it, and it looks quite impressive
Did a lot of Windows (and DOS) scripting using batchfiles over the years, so I've seen quite some anomalies during testing, and I can only assume you've seen a few while working on this ;D
One of the reasons I love bash/shell scripting: it just works

These symptoms smell like a resource (file?, gdi handle?) that's not closed while it should be closed. Eventually the process will run out of that resource, and freezes.

You've used the location of the shortcut to IE, not the executable program. That's this file: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" (Well, at least on my Win10 box)
The shortcut has a .lnk extension (hidden always by Windows Explorer), so .exe won't get you anywhere.

How I got there?
- Right-click the shortcut in the start menu
- Choose "Open file location"
- Right-click the Internet Explorer shortcut and choose Properties
- Get the value in the Target field (selected by default)

Stuff to check:
- Antivirus in use? Have you tried disabling AV for the screenshot-folder?
- Number of files? (@mouser: Maybe an automatic directory creator/rotation after ~1000 files or so, or date/hour based, would be useful)
- Specs of the drive the files are stored on? (Does it handle continuous writing for that amount of time and data?)

Isn't it Win7+?
Well, the Win 10 version is the one updated with (reasonable) up to date AV technology, not the Win 7/Win8.x version, AFAIK, and the baseline Win 10 OS is far more security-aware than previous releases.

Oh, windows defender is enough!
Important requirement: On Windows 10 that is, older Windows releases only have a 'less well-developed' MSE version available.

While I try to discover the deep reason in windows 8.1 for this disconfiguration
Try a proper working Windows version like Windows 7 or Windows 10, the 8.x range is like Windows SE or Vista: barely any good

The only thing binding me to it is Windows Programming.
The fly in the ointment is going without coding.
This is ofc not a 1 + 1, but maybe this would be an option? http://www.android-ide.com/

N.A.N.Y. 2017 / Re: NANY 2017: Progress Bars of Life Android
« Last post by Ath on April 15, 2017, 05:31 AM »
After some yearly events (birthdays mostly) have passed on PBOL Android, I think I've found a little bug: After a birthday has passed, the new end-date/time is updated correctly, but the start-date/time seems to stay at the current date/time, so the progressbar isn't showing any progress, until I manually set the start-date/time to the desired point in time.
Or is this so on purpose?

Screenshot Captor / Re: Making screenshot of Screenshot Captor menu

From the SSC main window:
Normally you'd use "Capture/Capture image of ScreenshotCaptor window", but you can't use that menu-item when the Help/About window is opened, as the OP was apparently trying... :o (or at least I did )

What's 'make bd'?
749
You decide. I think there is a lot of possibilities.
Well, I'm not picking this one up, sorry, as it's not my cup of tea.
As Lintalist said "Text = good", that's quite easy to process, rtf/doc/pdf is doable if only the plain text parts need handling (like my ScriptLineCounter does), all other stuff is a PITA :tellme:

Any other takers?

Hm, so in fact the file needs to be split by paragraph, and selected by the paragraph-title.

Do the formula's (images) in the document need to be preserved? Because I don't think I can copy those to a csv file, as that doesn't have graphics support. And if you later need to re-assemble the snippets into a new document, they would probably need to be inserted again.
If this is the case, then a nice Word macro, with a matching specialist in creating that, would be a better choice instead of me (I'm kind of allergic to VB and VBS )
