That is odd. Does it run at all? Do you see it in the system tray and can you open the settings dialog? When you run it, try clicking on the Start menu button once first, then try your middle mouse button. I have noticed sometimes mine doesn't work right away unless i do that.

Looking into this, I can make most of what you ask, but I can only display a Save-As dialog and you would have to choose the location, and press Save. The name of the webpage is set as the file name, but you can change it if needed.

If you are still in need for an app, I made this real quick for you (or anyone who need it). It's called Menu Snack. It just reads a menu.txt file in the same folder as Menu Snack.exe.
Open the menu.txt file in the Menu Snack.zip file attached for more info. Hope it is what you needed.

Ok. I added the option to choose your own file manager. Since I only use explorer I am unable to test it. Please give it a try and let me know. I have updated the attachment on my first post.

What I am going to do is allow you to select an alternate file manager to use. You'll be able to select your file manager and input any optional parameters. That way when you choose "Find Target" from the menu (if your file manager accepts parameters) it should open the folder containing the target of the shortcut. Here is a screen shot of the settings.

This is a version of my Self Note app with tabs. I liked being able to store my notes, but also wanted a way to organize them a little better. Same as the original Self Note.

Before I had Vista/Win 7, I wanted a quick way to get to the target file of a shortcut. Instead of having to right click on the shortcut, choose properties, then find target. I made an app called Find Target that adds a Find Target item to the right click context menu of a shortcut. This is for Windows XP, but may work on 95 and 98. Hope you find it just as useful as I did. The setup file is attached.

Ok, got it. I thought it might be that, but I wasn't sure if i was able to just use a URL because of changes. It's a little easier to update and throw in dropbox then to have to upload another version, but not a problem. I attached it to the first post.
@TaoPhoenix What version of Windows do you use? I only tested it on Windows 7 x64 so far.

Wow, Thanks for the info. I never really looked that much into memory stuff. It worked for me when I had a slow system, so I used it. Never released it so, I guess only use it if you think it may help.

This is a quick app that allows you to press your middle mouse button and have the start menu show at your cursor location. You can also add exceptions. This allows you to specify a window to not have the start menu show. Doesn't work with multi monitors yet and if you use WindowBlinds, sometimes the skin goes away from the buttons when you mouse over (don't think I can fix that). This has been tested on Windows 7 x64. Take a look and give some feedback if you can. Thanks! Here is the direct download as I have not added it to my page yet. http://bit.ly/HG4cPi

This is an app that I made a while ago but decided to fix it up and post it here. It is an app that optimizes the memory use of all running applications. I used to have a slow system with little RAM so I made this to release all un-needed memory so my system would work better. Now I have a fast system with loads of RAM, but I like to use fun stuff (mainly Stardock apps like DeskScapes, WindowBlinds etc). Also, browsers take a good bit of memory also and I do tech support and programming from home so I have a lot of apps running at the same time. It sits in the system tray and releases memory every "n" amount of time, default is set to 15min, but I have it run every 15 seconds and it works nicely. Please take a look and let me know what you think. It is a free app. Website -> http://bit.ly/HuRayE

Sorry, doesn't look like I am able to do that. I can hook the tray and move it once, then my system get's unstable. Sorry about that. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

I have an app that I had made called Start Anywhere. Press the Middle mouse button and it shows the windows Start Menu at the cursor location. Sorry it doesn't work on multi monitors, still working on that part. If anyone is interested in it, I'll smooth it out and post it.

Hey kunkel321, not not an evil robot. I did not make the code for color scheme designer. I contacted the author (petr) and asked if I could make a desktop version. He said I could, so I did. :-) not sure why your antivirus would be trashing it. I'll take a look at the code again to see what the problem might be. Sorry about that, but I assure you there is no virus. All I did was take his web page and all the scripting and compiled it into the exe file. The extract it and show it in a browser element. Maybe that is way your avtivirus has a problem, because it is extracting files to the HD?

Hello all. I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am a IT Administrator/Programmer for an insurance company. I really enjoy making software and my job. I have a few free utilities and one shareware utility (but may be released as freeware). They are listed on my About.me page [about.me/vds]. One (Self Note) was based off of fSekrit as I wanted to see if I could make something like it. I have a bunch of other apps that I never finished, but may finish and post here. Please take a look and let me know what you think!
