When I asked for someone to post it last night in the irc channel I overlooked the "web 2.0" stuff and on my computer I was actually able to get it to do some stuff.  I thought it was neat to generate stripe graphics for other stuff than just "web 2.0" easily.

I will note however that most whois servers doesnt allow automated lookups with programs. You actually got to go to the site and do it.  Most also state that if they see you doing automated lookups they will ban your ip from it.  So that is something to consider also...

I just noticed that the statusbar when you select one of the items with the keyboard/mouse at the end of the text says Create &Shortcut.

For example "Create a New Connection. Create &Shortcut" and so on for the others descriptions here.

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR v2 Tricks and Tips Clinic

You can use restartsearch in conjunction with another alias to have recursive aliases...

Ex. You have two aliases named this and that.

So you create another group alias (we will say test for this example) and name it what you want...then you add the following for the results to show...

this | restartsearch this
that | restartsearch that

Now when you type test it will allow you to pick from those 2 aliases.

Enjoy!  :)

Also, Maxthon uses %us for unicode search and %s for ansi search thru the address bar searching which you can specify in a list.

Like for google I use this in Maxthon

http://www.google.com/search?q=%us

A possible idea that should be possible is to make it to where you can enter the search engine(s) and have a special code like FARR does where the user can put at a specific place ($$1) and it will be replaced by the selected word???

Icon Tools / Re: Icon Tool Shooutout Review is now open to the public!
« Last post by hamradio on June 21, 2007, 08:31 PM »
Also, what about Icon Factory IconBuilder software?  Any opinions on that?

Requires: Mac OS X 10.3.9+ (10.4+ for Intel). One of the following: Photoshop 7+, Elements 2+, or Macromedia Fireworks. Adobe Creative Suite 3 required for Intel.
-Iconfactory

Not really considering it appears to be made for the mac os as I don't have a mac computer, so I can't really help on that side of things...unless someone could donate me a mac laptop that is within the requirements to run it and then I will review it for you...Thats the only way I could give you my opinion of that program. Or maybe someone that has mac that can run it can do a review on it...wish I could help you more on that.

BUG ALERT BUG ALERT!

If max files to keep in launch history is 0 and the Add launched files to launch history is still checked it will throw a bug when you try to launch.  My suggestion for possible fix...if launch history gets changed to 0 or less uncheck the add launched files to launch history and make that box show a default number.

Edit: It is 2.00.108 also.

Living Room / Re: Yahoo! Photos closing shop!

Yeah it would be nice to try it out, but if it was me I wouldnt get over the limits of the free account and if I did on photosets I would merge them into 3 (if possible) before the pro expired if I was going back to free. :)

The limit of photosets to 3 in the free compared to unlimited in the pro is one of the main points I saw from the screenshot that would hurt when the 3 months are up wouldnt it? Me be confused now.

Sounds like an attempt by Yahoo to get you to go over the limit on flickr that way when it expires you will then have to pay to keep what you have on there that is over the limit and wont get deleted. So to me it sounds nothing short than a money making scheme by yahoo and I give it a .

Some of this is just helpful information and not necessarily tutorials that I have found while working with the Turbo C++ version of BCB. Maybe you can find some stuff that will help you with your needs. :)

I don't know of any right off but...a simple way without using a keylogger would be to just compose message body in a text editor then copy to the box and format if need be. :)

General Software Discussion / Wood Workshop
« Last post by hamradio on May 10, 2007, 12:43 AM »
This tool looks nice from what I have seen on their site.  I have not tried it out yet, but it does appear to be created in .NET.  If you are looking to make wood textures then it might be nice to give it a whirl and see what you can make that you like.

The Wood Workshop is a free seamless texture editor that specializes in the creation of seamless wood textures.

Also...it would be nice to hear other peoples opinions of it, so if you have tried it or once you have tried it if you want to try it. So feel free to post here about the program, share information, ideas and other things about this program.

Inno Setup can include this functionality *if* you know how to do it.  There is a .NET 1.1 example of how a person did one for what he needed at http://www.codeproje...installerforinno.asp

My 2 cents is that I know you want to make it easy and all that, but my opinion is you could tell the perspective users they may need to install .net 2.0 before they are able to run your app and tell them where to find out if they have .net 2.0 and if they dont have it point them to microsofts web site where the download is.
As if you bundled it with it, then it would take more bandwidth than needed as not everyone might need 2.0. You could also offer two versions one with it bundled with it for users who doesnt after going thru the checks you state and another that is just the program.  Thats just my 2 cents on it. :)
