I had no problem downloading it. (However, I did not install it, as I don't think I have any use for this kind of app.)  Did you register? The link is sent by e-mail.

Pointing at the top left icon, the tip will show below the row:

!qup.png

- but I don't have any shortcuts in Quick Launch Bar, as I don't use it, so the picture here is kinda True Launch Bar IN Quick Launch Bar..., and that MAY cause a difference. I wouldn't know.

... using an app like True Launch Bar instead and have one row only?...

The case is that you can store a lot of shortcuts in an app like True Launch Bar, and maybe settle with one row only?

Ohh; two rows - then I understand how it will be a problem. And of course you need the extra row - I mean: its not done by using an app like True Launch Bar instead and have one row only? You do need TWO rows, right?

I'm having a little hard time understadning why these tips are so annoying to you. Are they any bigger than this one, or maybe placed too many pixels lower, so they're covering the taskbar icons? Can you show us a screenshot, please?

Back to the subject, at least for a short comment:

Some have implied that I have a lot of programs running in the 'TNA' (: system tray), but if I close EVEREST it really isn't that many, I think:

- and, I may add, not one of these are heavy on RAM or CPU  usage

Screenshots of trimall effect:

Right before (73.2%):
Clip1.png

Right after (60.2%):

The effect may grow if you have very little RAM free. Normally I wouldn't try to free any RAM when there is 26.8% free, but in this case I did it for the picture.

....clicking on trimall or trimws doesn't make anything happen.

The work of trimall is not visible, but on my XP the use of RAM is immediate lowered with 10-20%, and in a second trimall will close again, when the job is done. There is nothing to actually see. Please check how much free RAM you have, right before and after clicking trimall, and tell us the result.

A little thought only? No, f0dder, you give it a big thought, please!

download here (look below the post):
Here you go :)

"trimall.exe" automatically trims all processes, has no GUI or status indication or whatever (thus the small size). It still won't trim system processes, and on a multiuser system it will probably only trim other people's processes if you have an administrative user account.

trimws / trimall must be given a page if its own, at DC!

This little wonder-program shouldn't die un-noticed.

Only; I don't yet understand how to use trimws, and maybe I'm not the only one? Can I encourage f0dder to create some kind of a manual for beginners, please, to be placed on the program's new page?

Legal Issues
On April 5, 2007 Jesse Slicer, Kenneth Meade and InterVocative Software, LLC (represented by Tim Haverty) filed an injuction (Case #07CY-CV03512) in Missouri's 7th Judicial District (Clay County) against Ken Cole and Invelos, LLC (represented by Joseph Gall). Judge Anthony Gabbert is set to preside.

A motion for expedited discovery by the plaintiff has been granted however, as of April 19, 2007, no court date has been set and DVD Profiler 3.0 and Invelos.com are currently unavailable due to the injuction.

-Wikipedia

A sad part of the story is that InterVocative not have been able to update DVDProfiler themselves, for two years its still version 2.4 and 2.5 Beta.

Quote:

DVD Profiler is a program to catalogue a DVD collection. It was created by InterVocative Software. Although it can be used for free (with free registration), it can be upgraded to a premium registration for a small one-time fee. Registration allows users to download higher-resolution cover scans, to vote on all changes to the DVD database and to use the newest beta versions of the software.

DVD Profiler allows the adding of DVDs (and, since V3.0, HD-DVDs and Blu-ray Discs) by entering the UPC, inserting the disc itself into the computer's DVD drive or searching by title. The users can upload their collection to the internet to provide other users the possibiliy to view their DVD profiles.

Also available is DVD Profiler Mobile 1.0 which allows you to access your DVD Profiler database via a Pocket PC. You can also make changes to your database directly in DVD Profiler Mobile and syncronize back to your main DVD Profiler database.

Until version 2.4 the program is maintained by InterVocative Software. Since version 3.0, the program is maintained by Invelos Software, a company set up by developer Ken Cole to focus entirely on DVD Profiler and related products & services.

A major drawback is the unsupporting of Unicode, making it impossible to enter Asian [etcetera etcetera] DVD titles correctly.
- end of quote.

Ohh; it was that easy! Well, it often is, if you know what you are doing...
Thanks, Deozaan!

"see hidden files" inside each album folder, is the answer.

"trimall.exe" automatically trims all processes, ....

I'm amazed! The RAM usage was 88%, so I clicked trimall, and
within a single second the RAM usage was lowered to 62%!!
This is awesome!!!

General Software Discussion / Where is WMP 11 hiding CD cover images?
« Last post by Curt on April 20, 2007, 10:31 AM »
In the Windows Media Player 11 Library I was to insert a CD cover picture, but got distracted and forgot I had another image in the clipboard, so when I clicked "insert image" it was the wrong image. I have tried everything to change this image, but havent yet figured out what to do. So where I should see young Robyn's face, I now see an add offering some program at €30. I would rather prefer to look at lovely Robyn

I deleted the file from WMP, but when it comes back, WMP is remembering the image. So I guess I need to find where WMP is hiding the album info, and delete something there? But where? So far I have not been able to find anything smelling of music album infos.
Where in XP is WMP 11 hiding CD cover images?    :tellme:

1242 entries (most of it cue sheets) and foo is using 45mb of RAM + 37 of virtual memory.

I wonder why that is...

I was thinking 'wonder what that is' when I read the words "cue sheets"

On the contrary; I was soo pleased: Have I really managed to hide my ignorance that well?...  :)

I can cook up an "autotrim" version for you if you'd like, but it'll be after tonight's work at post.dk is done.

No hurry, please: I've managed to stay without for several years!
- but sure; an autotrim version would be wonderful  :-*

Curt, if you're too lazy to open a cmd.exe console,...

How to help someone use a computer.

First you have to tell yourself some things:

Beginners face a language problem: they can't ask questions because they don't know what the words mean, they can't know what the words mean until they can successfully use the system, and they can't successfully use the system because they can't ask questions.

Are we talking about "kør"? - or maybe right click in Explorer > "Command prompt here"? - or Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Kommandoprompt ? What is a batch file? How do you create such one? What is it you have shown here inside these "code" -boxes? Is it any different from normal text? Did you think the words below my avatar was a joke?

 ;)

I am quite happy with people writing programs that will do the stuff themselves.
