on break from work-

I've tried to find logs of blocked web address' before, but it's not in Nod's log.
The quarantine action or any other action is in the logs, but not blocked sites.

It just pops up a message telling me it blocked something, then disappears.
Maybe I'll install it again and get a snapshot of it, time permitting.

Well, no offers of other software came up and Photo Resizer installed and works.
Searching for opencandy or OCSetupHlp.dll came up with no results.

For what it's worth, Nod32 blocked 2 internet connections to OpenCandy when installing the latest Photo Resizer with OC.
Stopping the install of OCSetupHlp.dll and any other programs being offered.

Photo Resizer did install even with nod blocking the connection to OC.

Just for your info...

Here's where I got the pics.

Did a search for it and I have a nasa feed.

One I didn't post but is in my flickr feed.

Downloading disabled - don't really understand why some people do that.

Choose Pop-Up Choice Dialog in Preferences.
Click 'save image as' in your pop-up choice window,
and it will give you a choice of where to save your shot in SC.

While in the living room I couldn't find the remote to surf the channels.
It was there, right where I left it.

Thanks wraith808, that thread will get seen now.
To be honest, I never read it.

I usually look at General Software and the Living Room,
and scroll to the bottom for most recent posts.
Not digging around much I guess....

Thanks for the input Renji and Mattphoes,
but there is a lot of info here about PE.
Just use the search on this forum and find 2 pages of hits.

I would like to know more about Breevy and Auspex, and I follow their development.
Although these programs help more with people who type a lot, imo.
Which I do sometimes, and it would help if we could see these others as well.
Personally I don't always say the same thing the same way,
sort of boring...

If it's an important document I would proof read it anyway.
With or without spell and phrase help.
I use tinySpell and it is very good for spell checking.

Most anything I type in has it's own spell checker anyway.

I've seen good and bad reports on Phrase Express reviews.
From errors and too much resources used, to a great program.
My experience with it was rejected and uninstalled.
If yours is better, good for you.

Are you working for Phrase Express or it's parent company Mattphoes?

You must use the commercial version. I'm guessing.
The personal version prompts to upgrade to commercial when used for personal use.

http://www.autotext-software.com/

Is a free, no pop-up or prompts to upgrade to commercial, fine program.

Phrase Express and Auto-Hotkey seem to deliver everything I could imagine.

That is part of the problem with Phrase Express imo, phrases for everything.
Just let me type and I know when I get phrase insertion prompts, because I put them there.
I don't need a large database of phrases to scroll through.

Pretty short search for a simple program and settle for Phrase Express, which is one of many awesome programs that can be found just from simply searching and viewing the first couple of pages of hits.

Auspex is in development and awaiting input from users to make it better, as this site is so good at.

Phrase Express is below the level of Auspex in light user specific input for features, as well as user custom settings.
And I found Phrase Express to be more intrusive and overkill then helpful.

For the record OC does not 'scare' me.

I am careful though. Or try to be.
The main problem is not telling me about it, if they don't.
There should be an uninstaller for OC as well, imho.

And I'd rather have more info on the offered program it suggests.
Since I've already checked out the main program I'm installing at the time.
Like a link to the offerings home page or a review.
Just a check box to some program I don't know about will not sell me on it.

Not trying to extend this discussion or to make war.
In fact, I thought I was the thread killer around here. :)

I'm not smart enough to know if OC is a threat or not.
That's why I have security programs that detect threats.

http://www.opencandy...soft-adware-debacle/

Is a poor attempt at some kind of explanation. IMO.
And minimizing their own problems.
Blaming MS Defender, well Nod32 found it too.
So it's not MS at fault, but OC's changes that got caught.
And now they back peddle.....

Found this walk through that may help if you want to try it.

http://pcnet-online....les,to,windows,7.htm

Personally I did a destructive upgrade and reloaded everything for W7.
And played with dual booting for a while, but that got old quick.
But if you want to try Laplink PCMover Pro,
be sure to make backup of your current setup to a usb drive or another hard drive.
I think I did that anyway, for my files and a full backup.

You can use one of these screenshot add-ons for Firefox,
that will make it a png or jpg or any graphic if that will work for you.

https://addons.mozil...addon/pixlr-grabber/

https://addons.mozil...efox/addon/fireshot/

Both of them can grab the whole page with printing options.
Or grab it and save to use your own printing setup.

I don't install 'Any Video Converter' because Nod32 blocks the connection when it finds opencandy in it.
I could tell Nod to 'ignore' but I agree with Nod, I don't want it either.

Also there has been references to things like 'dealto', and others, packaged with a completely different safe program, that get blocked. Not sure if those are opencandy, it's just stops at the first sign of trouble.

Along with Deozaan's post, OC is trouble period.
