well, the version i have with the options from the library let me browse libraries all over the world, build a bibliography and import it into a word processor, its overkill by about 200 fold for what i need lol, but i thought i'd have a play while i wasnt too busy, and i  was talking to a librarian who said he might, one day, have a look at it, sso unless you're into serious research (post grad or higher type of stuff)and like the program i wouldnt bother with it.  I would guess its so expensive because, like specialised text books, there is only a limited market

Corporate / business behaviour like that is what gives the good people a bad name, and there are some (probably most) who always try and do the right thing, sure they make mistakes, dont we all? but they fix them, where they can, and where they dont they are obliged to by law to do so, makes me pleased I uninstalled one of their offerings during the trial.

Could be worth checking, if you haven't already, if the university (or the college) you are at has a deal going with them, where I am they provide endnote for us, free so long as we are students, ( endnote 9 at present, but at that price who cares) .

my tip is save the cash, then buy some software that really needs heaps of memory, processor and all the goodies, and then treat yourself to a new state of the art laptop  :)  ;D ;D

For what its worth Darwin, my laptop only has 1 memory slot, so i get the 256 on the mother board and whatever i can afford in the other, (up to 1 gb) i did have 256k in there for a total of 512 and the system had become remarkably unstable, BSODs regularly, so i upped it to a 512 (an extra 256k) and its stabilised a lot, its a bit faster to boot, (it is noticeable, without using timers or anything) and only very occasional BSODs. The difference in regular usage is less noticeable (the processor is a celeron M 1.5g) Notebook memory is a lot more expensive than its desk counterpart to, well it is here in Australia, but $150 has probably meant it will last another 2 or 3 yrs

Living Room / Re: Why do so many micropayment systems fail?
« Last post by Grorgy on June 04, 2007, 09:10 PM »
The response to this, IMO is that if your product is not wanted, whatever your business model, you are not going to last in business, look at all the small businesses in the 'real world' that dont last a year.  Planning, product, marketing all need to be right for success, personally I think micropayment schemes should work well with the right product.  I think of the microbank set up by some chap to provide small, very small, loans to people (mainly women) in impoverished nations, virtually no default, has been running for a number of years now and makes a good profit (last i heard, anyway)

Yeah, I like the idea of the URL being saved, and just to add something to the list to do if you ever get time list, a few extra icons (or the ability to import them) for the folders, for  instance i have a folder of urls and a globe or something like that would be nice, (i like eye candy  :-[  :D)

Great review, one thing, I've noticed a lot of people compare one note with evernote and was wondering if you had ever used evernote and why/how onenote is superior (if it is)

Cheers

Couldnt help but think when reading your post Carol, that given a lot of so called customer service these days, we might be better off with robots, ahh but then we'd really need to move to a system like Zaine was suggesting in the pay for software thread since so few of us would have paying jobs, it would all be a hobby.

Edit, oh oh wasnt zaine, sorry, gothic i think well someone sheesh now im as confused as my post lol
