What do you think of this?
An extremely good idea.
I have to stop and think what to do every time either that happens to me or I want to use object editing mode (thinking hurts my brain).

Plus, I just mentioned another benefit of SC in this other SC topic, which is how to get a useful gallery view.

Often, I read comments on DC from people doing things that seem perfectly obvious to them and yet are enlightening to me.  So, while I expect that many do already what I describe below, this feature of SC is so useful that I thought I'd mention it.

I refer to the fact that by setting the icon size for the left panel to the standard 96x96 and making the panel wider I get a pretty good 'gallery view' of whatever I want to look through. (The new search bar is an additional convenience.)

When I put a WinSendKeys command in a TCC batch file, the shell changes the window title to append the currently running command. So now the windowname string I specified after the -w switch is also on the TCC console and WinSendKeys sends to wrong window.

Can't you have your TCC batch file specify what its (own) window title should be (WINDOW command, perhaps)?

English was in a state of flux around 1600, changing towards what we know today.
And thank goodness for that — I mean to say,  who'd want to kiff onef fifter?

Thanks to all for the new info.

I picked up a couple of batteries that were very inexpensive. They claim to be the same brand as the original but the price denies this. So far, performance is the same as the original.

If/when these induce exploding camera syndrome I'll post again. At least I won't need expensive software to blow up my snaps.

Hi Vincent,

I have had the same experience myself where a coding snack no longer works.

I'm afraid that some of the older coding snacks were written before the advent of W7. Changes to the O/S will have broken those particular items. Since many users still employ older systems I assume that those 'snacks' remain for their benefit. You could try posting a request for someone to rewrite this item, always assuming that the functions are still available for manipulation.

Sorry that this one doesn't work for you but at least you now know that it's not an issue for you alone.

There is a lot more free material available that will work for you.  I hope you can have fun with some of that.

unrelated, but I was most amused to note the schoolkid in front of me on the bus this morning working on a page titled 'English Assingment'...
Probably the kid was just assing about.

Anyone have any pet peeves (or general complaints) about the language they see in different games?
Games, newspapers, and just about every piece of software with a "spell checker" — I don't do magic.

CoolReader.
About a week after I put CoolReader onto my phone my Kobo went into a drawer and hasn't been released since then.

I'll be the fifth, having long nurtured a secret desire to be a wheel.

"ironing" - what's that :P
It used to be common but I can tell that you've developed a new wrinkle.

... and then there's Crim. Drop all your small valuables into a laundry bag, give them a call, leave your keys taped to the front door and they will come to unburden you of the goodies, even leaving you a thank-you note.

General Software Discussion / Re: Swapping Out Software?
« Last post by cranioscopical on July 20, 2013, 10:49 AM »
I went this year with the promo for Kingsoft Office. (I left the Writer on Libre, no qualms there.) But for spreadsheets, however they did it, they just managed to mirror MS's placement of features. Roughly I count about 20 simple things that I rely on in spreadsheets, and using the "muscle memory" I learned at work on the "real" MS package, just made the switch to Kingsoft easier.
Kingsoft is a good option. I agree with the muscle memory thing.
While I still have MS Office (and some shares in MS) I'll continue to use it, mainly because I'm lazy. I doubt that I'll be upgrading it, however.
Anyway, with a one-day $32 billion loss as an example, the possibility exists that they might one day be losing some serious money.

As I haven't the skills required for serious programming I've relied on various "languages" for scripting stuff. A bit of BASIC, some Rex, a smattering of Python etc. Over the past year or so I've switched to AHK_L for that kind of thing.

If Adobe doesn't amend its cloud-only subscription policy I'll be switching from Creative Suite to the first competitor to include the features that I want (I suspect that will take a while to occur).

Thanks both

Food for thought.
