hmm, not seen any Nintendo 3DS stuff. sounds interesting if you don't require glasses though.

as for the tv stuff. erm, don't know. 3d tv is always going to be pretty rubbish if you have to sit directly in front, but overlooking that, i would expect they could do something that gave "depth" to the image if not actually being able to look "around" it (by a few degrees). just providing depth would be a great deal easier - so maybe that's the answer to only having a couple of cameras (stereo vision kind of thing).

as you say, it would require way too many cameras to get every possible angle - but, i wouldn't be too surprised if "in the future" a set of four cameras could do it. lots of interpolation would be required - but, hey, it's the future - anything can happen :-)

all i know is that anything is better than the rubbish being touted as the current "pop-up book" cinema 3D (and tv) experience.

looks like it could be the precursor to real 3d tv, i.e. not that crap we have now with the glasses. well, maybe in fifteen years or so.

after reading all of the above, i can say, once again - i hate Apple even more now. in these cold winters days, this burning hatred is keeping me warm inside. thank you.

Roddy Piper says it on entering the bank in the film "They Live". Perhaps he's quoting Eastwood. I only know of Piper saying the line.

edit:
okay, i admit i've got nothing better to do right now: here's the imdb quotes page for They Live...

"I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Carpenter's "They Live" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096256/

Worth watching just for the very profound "new sunglasses" scene if nothing else.

one might wonder didn't the thought occurred to any of the engineers at Google?
I thought they must have picked the Chrome title deliberately - as they were taking the stance that their browser was going to provide the "Chrome" gui surround for all the app/sites that ran inside it. You know, like how you can create a Google Chrome shortcut that opens up a site without any typical browser buttons or features - just the chrome surround.
692
there IS a Firefox extension that does it, superboy.

try this: https://addons.mozil.../firefox/addon/7637/

(I think that does it all but there might be other extensions required. I can't check what extensions I've used myself to do it as I'm on a different pc at the moment.)

I guess you'll be asking nudone to create a Steve Jobs character so you can add videos to your new blog (HINT!).
It looks like character creation/customization isn't available - otherwise i'd have a go at doing Jobs. They've missed a trick not already including him. I suppose he would have sued though.

wordpress sounds good. good idea about a more subtle domain name (i was going to suggest that might be the way to go too).

i wouldn't be surprised if timns had a few ideas/rants to contribute about Apple. i'll ask him.

I think we know there are plenty of people that make an intelligent-user choice and decide to go with Apple. They'll be the ones that don't worship at the alter of Steve Jobs. They'll be the ones that don't try to explain a machine/interface deficiency as a killer must have feature. But they aren't fun people to try and wind up.

People love to argue and bait fanboys. That's why a dedicated Apple hating blog is a good idea - it's fun. The insults that will be thrown back in the blog comments against Apple haters will be fun too. It won't change anyone's opinion. The more irrational and outrageous the ranting the better, I say. If it starts a holy war - great.

i'd like to contribute an article about the automatic assumption that you must use a Mac if you are a designer (personally, any time i see a "designer/creative/artist" type using a Mac i instanly loose all respect for them. it instantly signals to me that they aren't very original in their mindset. they are a sheep. of course, i'm jumping to conclusions about someone, but that's part of the fun.)

i think we crave a dedicated apple hating specific blog. the more insane and biased the better. c'mon, Renegade, it would be cathartic.

looks like the kindle submission process is very automated - or done by people getting minimum wage and not really caring about when they hit the "aprove" button.
