This is my system tray (i.e. taskbar notification tray), using LiteStep as shell. I've got quite a few more icons, actually, but they're hidden since I don't need to see them.

sort of OT, but: If you like 1984, I can recommend "This Perfect Day" by Ira Levin (probably best known as the author of "Rosemary's Baby"). Excellent novel! I'm surprised (and a little relieved) that Hollywood hasn't picked it up yet... But the book is always better ;)

My husband came home all upset, thinking that google had stolen my work, and even worse...messed it up by removing all the color from it. He wanted me to sue google. Now his boss isn't much brighter, suing was all his idea, and he was actually going to find me a lawyer.

yeah, what's up with double clicking internet links?

And I get the occasional SMS/call from my mom about stuff like this. "The text on the PC, specifically hotmail [i.e. internet explorer] is huge again! How do I fix it?"

This is one of the thing a menu is for, although for this particular problem I just SMS her a short message "Ctrl+mousewheel" ;)

The menu in any program must seem very scary to a lot of people... weird.

I think this is an excellent system explorer! While I certainly liked sysinternal's Process Explorer, and replaced the task manager with it, this has now become my task manager replacement. Faster than Process Explorer and has a lot of cool features.

Also, you might want to check the following "change the value of 'AutoReboot' to equal '1' for automatic reboot, or '0' for disabled."  You'll find it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl

there should be some files in Windows\Minidump with the information from every Bluescreen. They can be read with MS Windows Debugging tools.

People who seem unaware of those around them. The subway example is a good one; also people who block the aisle in the supermarket, and "left lane dicks" on the highway.

Oh, and add the people (often couples) blocking the escalators. "I know the stairs move, but I'd like to walk too. It's possible, you see. Well, it would be possible if you two weren't blocking the escalator! You stand on ONE side of the escalator. The other side is for walking." Again: Pretty easy concept.

Not as annoying as the tube-people, though :-\

So in short, I guess people annoy me quite a bit :-[

People who start getting onto the tube, bus, train, whatever public transportation BEFORE I or anyone else can get off it! What's so difficult to understand? You let us get out, and THEN you can get in. It's a very easy concept. Container is full, to add something to the container, something must necessarily be removed first. :wallbash:

I usually just elbow my way through the morons

Oh, and thread can be closed now, there is nothing more annoying than what I just described ;)

The help file is definitely a good place to start, but I also think the basic answer to your question is YES, you can make "launcher-style keywords" if by that you mean alias. I suppose you're thinking something like: type 'np' will launch notepad? You can do that in FARR, but for simple launching of single executables I don't think it would be any faster, since after all often launched apps will be in the result list before you type anything and can be launched with a number key.

Hope that made sense... It did in my head :p
