SFFS is [very?] complicated at times because of the amount of options...

thanks for the clarification Merle.

Proprietary filetypes make me wary, but then I'm not looking at the moment for a versioning tool -
I recently started using Super Flexible File Synchronizer for monitoring+versioning (have been using it for backup a couple of years now) - it's working very well so far. If anyone is otherwise considering two apps for these needs, it might be worth checking out (you'll need the "pro" version).

from Stephen's "cupcakes" link above:

Under the rapid-release program, new versions of the browser ship every six weeks, which means the change in features from the earlier version is correspondingly smaller.

Apparently version #8 is due on the 18th of November

and again today:

In case anyone's interested, the offer is being repeated at Bits du Jour - AJC Software today, $17.40 instead of $29.
[I changed the link there to todays offer]

the only thing I've heard about it lately is that, according to MerleOne here, it's backup format is actually zip (but they use a differnet extension)

my login doesnt work for this site (just reporting, not bitching!)

If you can elaborate, perhaps it might be helpful too... ;). Sorry again.

EDIT: We did NOT migrate accounts, as I thought we would. The reason being is that the new site is using SMF 1.1.15, while I use SMF 2.0.1 .. so it would have been a harder issue.

no worries - I made a new account and posted already earlier

I sure hope this anti-FP action will go well.

However, already been told that the thread will move to another domain, I am not inclined to register at Bitsum's, in order to upload a post or two. I think more people than me may have had a similar thought.

It has been moved already -- http://falsepositivereport.com

For me, [RealWorld] is a bit hard to pronounce (maybe native speakers do not have this problem) due to the amount of Rs and Ls. The RW is even longer (R-double-U). I have hard time imagining someone recommending the software on the street or in the pub and the other side remembering it correctly

this would *not* be a problem with native speakers, but I'm sure you will have a lot of non-native english speakers using the app as well...

Version 3 was launched 16 December 2010,

The new version is 3.02

yeah, my email only mentioned versions 2 and 3.0.2 so I thought it was a 2 => 3 upgrade

I did not make it clear.. if you want your comments to be seen by people who MATTER, then please post them at the thread I linked above. They will be waking soon, and visiting that thread. If it is just me, I look like a crazy person. If there is some user support, they realize users are fed up.

I have a real fear now that users, in general, don't care (not you guys, but others.. the average user).

Side note: If you could turn the CAPTCHA level down a bit, it would be much easier to post. I had to try 3 times. :(

+1 (well twice here)

I'm not fully clear - you want false positives posted there.
Do you want "dissatisfaction with the way thing are in general" posted there as well?

Bloody hell! Is this guy ever driven... :tellme:

I'm gonna make it a point to never "seriously piss off" this Ken guy without good reason. ;D

re alleged harrassment of someone mentioned in the articles:
Ask yourself: based on this series, what is Ken likely to do to me if I use the information in his posts to behave badly?

IIRC the optical drives are hidden by default so you may need to go into settings and un-hide them.

that's it - it's my first go at this
working, (also context menus working)

Anyone else in my boat?

no, for once things are going okay for me today (sorry)

So... It's working correctly for you then, yes??

damn, I spoke too soon.

DVD drive (with DVD) is not showing at all
Various removable drives showing, context menu works on them.
I successfully removed a usb drive via context menu.
