General Software Discussion / Re: color area

is there a simple way to quantify the pixels of these skin moles?

http://www.gulfmd.co...images/skinchart.gif

also, how will I know that all the pixels are selected? a line that will mark the area would be helpful

I suspect you need photoshop (or equivalent, Gimp, etc.) for what you want. Each of those moles has probably dozens of colours - so trying to select by colour, you will need to vary the "tolerance" of the selection - a bit like making a search "fuzzy". (As I described above.)

In fact I wonder if selecting automatically (using colour) is even fully possible, as all moles have highlit areas which will not be selected when you select by the main colour...

They're great quality 40 (all round)
Dirhael posted about them last year two years ago now (time's flying here...) so here's another couple by them - one of them's blocked/censored here, the other is live on a boat :D

Let's start with some bands from my country, Norway

A couple of tracks from the great Norwegian folk band Katzenjammer, adds +2 to you mood, guaranteed:

I can see the attraction - even for a once off use - rather than reinstall (+ all programmes) or do a repair install (if that's even possible, still need to apply all updates afterwards).

Is their any option to autosave the screenshot taken to be placed in the Desktop, i downloaded the portable version and its default location seems to be.c:\ScreenshotCaptorPortable\Screenshots\

in preferences,
"Screenshot folder & tools" for location of screenshot folder
"Interface Options 1" for choice of automatic save ("stay minimised") or pop-up dialogue (read the "Tip" there)

I modified the images toolbar so that it now does *not* change the last modified date when rotating an image.

Screenshot Captor from mouser:

there's portable and install download link on the left there.

The (new) scrolling capture is sophisticated, but it can be a bit complicated, so have a look at the second video on this page:

I'm no expert with changing folder layout format. I know it was very complicated in past versions, but I presume one of these options would work for you:

right-click a column header ->Select "More" at the bottom of the list.
Adjust your settings, click save; you then get these options

Screenshot - 2012-02-09 , 10_28_33.png

I presume the last option is what you want - but note that this might remove custom-default formats for e.g. music (maybe someone else could confirm that?)

Dopus FAQ thread on the topic here

EDIT/ I'm not actually sure what exactly they mean by a "layout"... :-\

EDIT2/ this FAQ guide might be better Folder Formats: Quick Guide

With my ancient version of photoshop, I can select pixels of similar, or the same colour.
If I set it to same colour (Tolerance=0) it mostly only selects a handful of pixels.

I presume that's not what you want - but I'm not sure.
Maybe you could explain a bit more?

this is what I want exactly, but I need to quantify this selection as a percentage of the whole photo or as an absolute square inches etc

or maybe I can create another photo with only this selection of pixels and then count the pixels?

I'm not really sure where to go from there... :-\ (my version of photoshop is no help in getting the percentage)

anyone else got any ideas?

... if you try to capture horizontal content and there is none, it shouldn't cause any problems just some wasted time trying to horizontally scroll when there is no content.  can you elaborate what didnt work?

This is probably a bit gratuitious as SC seems to have Horizontal scroll turned off by default (even if set to "on" the previous time), but here goes:

I try capturing a dopus window with only vertical scrolling content.
In SC I set horizontal scrolling to default/pages
The screenshot is not long, will be done in two screenshots. Lets call them
A
B

The initial screenshot is actually:
AA
BB

Now when I press #1 Guess Margins - there is no change.
#2 gives me the following message:

The vertical overlap value could not be guessed.  This means that either that the page
contents have no overlap, or, more likely, that the overlap was too small to
reliably detect or that the contents changed while scrolling.

Please check the stitched image and manually adjust the margin and overlap values.

Tip: After changing margins you might try pressing the "2" button to re-guess overlaps.

I tried changing various margins & overlaps with strange results, i.e. without success =STOP PRESS= I figured it out:
increasing the "trim and show" horizontal setting from 3 to 4 removed the doubled up image.

Again this is done without using "Test Window" - that works well, so if unsure I'll stick with it in future (maybe that's what I was supposed to do all along?)

I just did a scrolling capture of dopus with horizontal and vertical scrolling.
It doesnt work well with default settings (scrolling "by pages"), but once I do a "Test window...", settings are changed to "by rows" & it works absolutely perfectly without me having to adjust anything.
It's very impressive

Some comments/queries, mainly on options & interface (- I'm not loking for answers, just throwing ideas out)

1) "Rows" being better than "Pages" (as said above) makes me wonder should default scrolling be "by rows" ? (I know I'm basing this question on one capture, but just thought I'd ask anyways).

2)
~ if horizontal scrolling is activated when there is no horizontal scrolling in the window, it doesnt work
~ if horizontal scrolling is *not* activated where there *is* horizontal scrolling in the window, it doesnt work.
I think that initially this is not clear - I wonder could it be indicated in some more definite way? (one possible option could be to say: if there's horizontal scrolling, please do a "Test Window..." as that seems to work well. Or Please turn Horizontal scrolling on/off as appropriate. Or...

3) Not important I guess: I have no idea what "Capture until max below" means...

I think improved layout/display of options for the scrolling capture would be helpful -
wouldn't need any big changes, I dont think. Some suggestions:

4) First window once scrolling capture selected:

a) maybe move [Test windows & guess Settings] above "Miscellaneous options"

b) Could VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL SCROLLING be emphasised more?

c) Could [OK begin scrolling...] be emaphasised more - made double height maybe? stronger icon maybe?

5) Second Window

move Steps 1 & 2 above the more detailed margins settings?
