I am not playing at all....
Sorry Curt, didn't mean "play" in a derogatory sense, but more in "investigation, experiment"

No offence taken - I understood your question the same way you explained it. Frankly I am the one who should apologize, because sometimes Curt really is too curt... in particular when I am to express myself in (my kind of) English!
6254
Yet again the answer was soo easy - all you have to do is to find it...:
"Options > Preferences...> General Preferences > Show Winamp in... > Taskbar / System tray
:-[

Well, problem solved.
6255
- a while since the last time you used Wimap, or was "for the last time" intended? One or the other - it has improved a lot.

I will keep looking for the option. Thanks!

6256
- I have the Agent icon displaying, but I have not yet found any way to remove the taskbar button. Can this be done?

Edit: Of course, I should go ask in the Winamp forum.

winamp 5.5 is fantastic (I thought I'd never say that)!
... the link www.winamp.com

Thanks!

I haven't/hadn't tried Winamp for quite some years - I only remeber that I didn't like it - but urlwolf's praise made me try it again, and I have to say that this 5.51 really is among the very best, if not The Best! I like my WMP 11 and RealPlayer 11 and K-Lite Media Player Classic and the VideoLAN VLC and the Korean KMPlayer a lot - they are all the finest - but yesterday I removed MPC, VLC and KMP, and made Winamp the default player for all media file types. It really is The Finest. But of course, I don't play around with tagging and what else some said can cause troubles.

Thanks a lot, again, urlwolf!

However, I don't understand why Winamp has to have a button in the taskbar all of the time (it doesn't obey DM2). Can I make it move to the systray / Notification Area?

8 is considered a lucky number ...

You can say that again:
According to Biblical 'numerology'  888 is the number for Jesus, The Son of God.

« Last post by Curt on December 12, 2007, 05:27 PM »
... the point I was trying to make: that this free offer is for a newer, more feature rich, version than the one that mouser raved about in June 2005

So, since version 2, wich was merely 2½ years ago, there has been version 3, 4 and now 5 - three versions, each with the upgrading price 50% This version 5 does not sound as a good investment... can it even be more expensive?!!!!

Are you still playing with this Curt... and what are your impressions?

I am not playing at all.... My one and only project needs nothing more than a reminder and an authoring tool like Liquid Story Binder or (merely) IMBT PageFour - so I removed Noah, it was of no use to me, or I didn't understand how to take advantage of it.

But I was still impressed with it.

Living Room / Re: Is the new Zune upgrade really an upgrade?
« Last post by Curt on December 11, 2007, 01:50 PM »
You may be missing the point: this "trick" has nothing to do with removing DRM or not, so to speak, it is merely about playing the file more than 3 times only.
6262
How to avoid the Zune "3 plays":

CyberNet:

There are still independent musicians and others who want to share the music that they make with others, but without the Zune "3 plays" restriction. Right click on a music file, click on the “Details” tab, and then change the Genre to “Podcast” as shown below. Click “okay”, and the 3-play restriction is void.

Of course this little workaround should only be used on songs that you’ve recorded, or ones which you have permission to do so - says © CyberNet | CyberNet Forum

General Software Discussion / Re: GoodSync free from RoboForm today (not)
« Last post by Curt on December 08, 2007, 04:19 PM »
You can be deceptive without outright lying. Yes. That is what I meant.

The RoboForm ad is lying: the GoodSync program is not free. If this was presented to a Danish court RoboForm would loose their case, because every customer, expecting the GoodSync to be gratis and without limitations, would be "in good faith" (-as the Danish expression may translate).

Did you try to install another shutdown manager, given it the chance to override the bad manners from the previous one? I would try that.

Martin Luther made his 95 theses,
- so Calvin also made his: * 95ThesesByCalvin.txt (39.54 kB - downloaded 544 times.)

Here are a few:

1. Calvin: “Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.”

2. Calvin: “I say, if your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life.” [800]

3. Calvin: “Reality continues to ruin my life.”

4. Calvin: “People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realize how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world.”

5. Calvin: “It's not denial. I'm just selective about the reality I accept.”

6. Calvin: “You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help.”

7. Calvin: “I asked Mom if I was a gifted child... she said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me.”

8. Calvin: “I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information.”

Oh, I didn't follow the link at first.

The idea behind PonyFish makes the service very interesting. But the low update frequency spoils it, when it comes to DC's forum. Even the 'gold' and 'platinum' will merely update per hour.
