For what it's worth, this tech talk convinced me to get Mercurial, simply because it's so similar to git  but it works with Windows without any hassle.

In other words, I think Linus was spot on and he did a good job convincing me that a distributed source control system is the better system. But my needs require ease of use and Windows.

That looks really cool, but I'm not sure what's going on in that picture. Is the little white thing in the sky the sun or the moon? Is it dark in the sky and on the beach because the moon is blocking the sunlight?

If the white thing in the sky is the sun, then I guess the photographer used the dark part of the total eclipse for the rest of the image (sky and beach). Is that right?

I made a thread about this kind of frustrations.  Dealing with video files is so hairy.  Codecs, different players, container formats, ability to seek, interlacing, framerates...ugh.

But SUPER has a setting for outputting to PS3 format, so I shouldn't have to touch anything else (and I didn't!) to get it to convert and play on the PS3.

Seems like no matter what I try, nothing plays on the PS3. WMV, AVI, MP4. . . None of my video files (that I've tried, which are few) work. :(

I used to be getting the betas, but then I decided to try out the Dev for Chrome 6.0 previews and it was all messed up so I went back to the normal "stable" releases.

Uh oh.

I uninstalled IDM and have rebooted my computer but this problem is still rearing its head. I can't even get Twitter to load (blessing in disguise!).

I get the same kind of thing. A server response, some cookie info, and then some garbled text (gzipp'ed server response?).

Content-type is set to text/html... I don't know what's wrong. :(

The past day or two I've been getting "plaintext web pages" instead of HTML. Often including javascript, CSS, and other stuff (like Apache server responses).

There seems to be an issue with the encoding. See image below for an example:

If I reload the page enough then it will sometimes show the HTML, but more often then not it just shows the same thing. Anyone know what might be causing this?
