RegexBuddy
Regular Expressions Made Easy!

Screenshot Captor [ScreenshotCaptor.exe] Screenshot - 29.04.2008 , 16_07_52.png

Bits du Jour will have a 51% discount on RegexBuddy on May 6th! That's $19.95!

http://www.bitsdujou...software/regexbuddy/

RegexBuddy is an amazing tool to help you out with regular expressions. Personally I'm a few light years away from actually knowing decent regex, but with the aid of RegexBuddy I've certainly been able to accomplish the things I've wanted and learnt abit along the way. Highly recommended!

Do a search on DC and you'll see quite a few positive remarks about RegexBuddy!

edit: Added links. duh.

Fun idea! If I stumble upon a shot glass either from a funny place or from a completely unfunny place, I'll try and remember to ship it :)

General Software Discussion / Re: fSekrit as open source ?

I guess in principle you could be right, but I would have no problem trusting f0dder's work. If there were any problems I'm sure they would've been reported a long time ago and that you wouldn't even see f0dder around here.

Since you're a new user, though, I understand well that you obviously don't know and trust the program author. But just do a search around the forum and look at f0dder's post and try to form your impression of his trustworthiness based on them ;)

Oh, and welcome to the site and the boards

I had a similar experience to Dormouse. Much was very right with Linkman, but I felt that what I needed was basically just better organized bookmarks, and that requires ME to make changes anyway. So I figured I could do with Opera's bookmark manager.

I did like part of the features of Linkman, like the search-as-you-type desktop toolbar (or what you call it). but FARR+Farrfox plugin essentially gives me the same feature.

(I experienced a few crashes as well, but unfortunately I rarely bother reporting such things... Sorry for being a lazy user. )

In conclusion, though, I did like Linkman quite a lot, and I liked how I could just send the currently opened URL to a folder with today's date without any interaction. But I ended up uninstalling it because I felt that the essential functionality I wanted could be somewhat reproduced with other apps, so couldn't justify spending money on it.

Image Manager Shootout / Re: Xnview vs. IrfanView - integrity issue examined
« Last post by TucknDar on April 23, 2008, 12:47 PM »
I've loaded Irfanview many times trying to like it but I can't get used to its browser.
Guess that goes to show how close these apps are, cause I've loaded xnview many times and tried to like it, but always end up back with Irfanview :)

I suppose I agree on the browser issue, though, but I wouldn't use it anyway. Much prefer to browse thumbnails in Total Commander then just launch images with Irfanview for small bits of work or just viewing

Living Room / Re: How Do You Use Your USB Flash Drive(s)?

I use it for transporting docs from home to work and school. Also for a few portable apps, such as Total Commander, EssentialPIM and Keepass for computer stuff elsewhere.

Cool. Well deserved. While I haven't tried many screenshot apps, I can't imagine anyone being remotely close to SC in any way.  :-*

Still OT, but cleaning the fans really made a difference... from 55 Celsius to this:

General Review Discussion / Re: In praise of opinionated reviews

Aren't all reviews rather opinionated?
615
Yes, while before I thought indexing was a good idea, I'm not so sure now. FARR is pretty lightning fast, so probably not so important. And now there's plugin support I suppose this poll is pretty outdated

Sounds AHK-ish. There are also tons of little cool hotkey-applications.

Or did I misunderstand something?

come on! Denmark is a wonderful country!

- goes to show that you live north from DK (read: an even colder place)!  :P
:D Actually I'm half Danish and have spent a lot of time all over .dk

But late July and August is a good idea "temperature-wise", although pretty much any time'll do for me. Maybe we should come up with some dates and see when's the best time?

No need to worry, check this thread out: https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=12614

Added: the thread is only somewhat related, as there seems some providers have problems with a couple of DC tools and the way they're packed.

But still, I wouldn't worry.

And welcome to the site :)

I use cmd.exe or a little utility called lsh anyway, so although support for the big baddies would be nice, it's not a matter of big concern to me. Happy with it so far. (meaning the times I've used it in the last 24 hours, hehe )

Living Room / Re: Am I too demanding, or are they all cheating?
« Last post by TucknDar on March 24, 2008, 05:46 AM »
The wheel click on the VX Nano is a mechanical switch to changing the scrolling modes (free spin vs. click-to-click scrolling) and can not be used as a button. The tilt left/right actions of the wheel or the search button can be set to the Middle Click action.
:o
That really sucks. Have you considered remapping tilt left or right to middleclick? If the search button doesn't do for you (I can understand, because it isn't too comfortable, tbh.) and if you don't need sideways scrolling then I suppose that's the closest you get.

I actually wanted a VX nano for the tiny USB connector, but I definitely won't buy one if I can't click the wheel.

@ TucknDar:

Thanks for the tip, überOptions looks nice, but I don't need to redefine all the buttons, I could do it with HotkeyP should I need it. The problem is that the wheel doesn't produce any signal, so there's no solution. The only mouse in the world...
Really? No signal at all? That's strange. As I said, I've got the pre-nano version, which certainly can click the mousewheel. That certainly is an odd "development" from Logitech

about the temperature again, not that anyones interested, I'm sure... uh, well I think I've got some dust in the fans. Thanks for your mentioning this, or I probably wouldn't've dug around so much. Now I know that the dust can be easily removed from my laptop :)
