NOTE: We are supposed to have a special "5,000 Posts" commemorative mug, but no one has stepped up to do the artwork for it yet..

I've been meaning to request one of those lovely Cody shot glasses for the occasion - I guess this is now the request ;)

European Football Championship / Euro 2012

Day two, had to post this goal from yesterday, could well be the goal of the championship.

[edit] turns out UEFA is blocking all content on youtube - dont know how long this one will last - the goal I was talking about is at 4:08. It's the fourth (and last) Russian goal. (Formatting is unfortunately a bit wonky - compressed widthwise & top/bottom cropped.)

and here's another option if that one doesnt work http://www.youtube.c.../watch?v=J3RcOIVceeg

[/edit]

Quality isnt that great in spite of 1080 HD - watch it full screen anyway ;)

worth watching till 0:51 for the arial view

or

if using Win.7, the Winkey + left arrow will resize any window to the left side of the screen.
or use an app that resizes windows. Moveit or GridMove - both apps here on dc.

You can also drag the taskbar to the left side of the screen. (Right click and unlock if locked, then drag and release when showing correctly. You will have to make it wider/deeper to show apps properly, so autohide to maximise space.)

No adds here using Crome with AdBlock -- have you tried clicking that "why these adds?" link and see if it's something you can disable perhaps?

No adds here using FF & Adblock - I wonder is it a European vs. US thing (me & Jibz being in eu/europe)

It seems to me that some of these document/PDF organisers *should* be able to do this. You know the type of app aimed at a paperless office, e.g. PaperPort. Unfortunately I dont have any experience with any of them myself.

(I presume you've looked at your scanner driver options/settings.)

Living Room / Re: The universe is geometrically flat?
« Last post by tomos on June 05, 2012, 05:12 AM »
Maybe I don't understand the meaning of "geometrically flat" but I thought it was a known fact that the universe was flat.

I remember explaining to a friend about the flatness of the universe back in 2006. She, too, was having trouble comprehending it. I thought I was doing a bad job explaining it, but maybe it is the concept itself that is difficult for some people to understand?

I dont understand it - but I dont know anything about it.
Does it mean there is no third dimension? (I know there are probably other dimensions, but that's hard to grasp too.)

So, if I understand correctly, I should replace SectionAte 1.0.20.0 with ShapeShift + MoveIt?

MoveIt replaced SectionAte. I believe (but wait see what Miles says) they should *not* be used together as some shortcuts "overlap" and have different effects.

FWIW, MoveIt seems the more interesting app to me. I've used it in combination with jgpaiva's GridMove without any problems-

1) Gimp
2) Inkscape
3) unclear what you want to do

You'll need to take lots of time to learn and research though. So if time is money, you'll end up paying a lot...

In Directory Opus it (AFAIK) only remembers the last closed tab.
It does have very good capabilities when it comes to saving groups of tabs or full window "layouts" (see this post: Configuring Directory Opus for Fun and Profit) - I use that a lot.
I'd love even more browser-like capability, e.g. like undoclose.

Screenshot Captor / Re: How to change text box border line width and color?
« Last post by tomos on June 01, 2012, 06:08 PM »
hi bubbajunk :-)
On the toolbar, on the right side of the SC window, the icon for "Text Object" will display a sort of an options/settings panel. You can set the colour of the border there - but I dont see any option to change the width.

EDIT/ always forget something:
If it's a text box that you've already made, you'll have to click on the ObjectMode icon on the same toolbar (Arrow with a red "O").
Then click on your text object. Then edit using panel as described above.
