Homepage + this thread, only:

Two tabs, all of them, and the exact same pages - all fresh from Start.

- Maxthon 1.6 placed above Max 2.

K-Meleon is a little impressive, isn't it, very modest usage!

It is very easy to make Firefox jump to half a giga, in fact when I read your post my Firefox was taking up 520 MB. But I use to minimize it once in a while, just long enough for it to free some memory, because in general I think it uses exactly the same as the others.

I agree that BetaClock is The Best and what Edvard was asking for:
Edit:
[Sorry, Edvard - You specifically said you "don't want yet another software running".]

betaclock.gif

- the BetaClock code is: %longtime~|~dd-MM-yy

Loonier is sort of right, as AlfaClock USED to host the BetaClock file
- but that was before AlfaSoft got this new homepage site.

Finally, another File Manager no one has mentioned recently (probably because it makes Dopus look like freeware) is PentaSuite (www.pentasuite.com). Anyone?

Dead, or merely struggling not to die? Has not been updated for a year.
5706
Couldn't wait for your answer so I bought it anyway.

... I keep spending my money on software that I don't really use enough to justify the expense. FileBoss is a case in point -

- I know what you mean. Why would I even want yet another file manager? I love my (amplified) Explorer!
5707
I'll play around with both and post more on them later.

FileBoss is today's offer on Bits du Jour
- so NOW would be a good time to fulfill a certain part of your promise, Darwin!  ;)

- and below that picture is the text about the object. In the case of 'Chevy Bel Air' the text is ending like this: "... Note: reflection settings may need adjustment in Vue 6 Easel."

- and easel is a cheap version of the mother program Vue - Vue by e-on. I am not sure how to describe the Cornucopia products other than: 3D sculpt image files, made for using in Vue!

Cornucopia3D is an online community dedicated to the Vue line of products. On Cornucopia3D, you will find all sorts of resources to improve your Vue experience: forums, galleries, tutorials,... as well as a store where you can find top-quality content at the best possible price!

Lucas Film Industrial Light & Magic is using a version of Vue.

At Cornucopia's there are more than a thousand files of various 3D motives which you can purchase in order to create you own images. One 3D sculpt can of course give you a huge number of possible variants.

Yes, I too am getting these mails from Germany. I believe Softmaker is offering you upgrades to ('from') Ashampoo, because the first file you downloaded came from SoftMaker's site (and was also partly installed in the folder 'Softmaker') after you had given them your email address. They don't offer to update Ashampoo, but to upgrade. Are you planning to do the switch? I am. In fact I am planning to stay all clear of Ashampoo  on my next PC,  as I wrote earlier.

I have this feeling that Ashampoo is hoping you will make an offer on one of their older programs...

Well, I offered $15 for the new $50 Uninstaller 3, and had to wait some days to receive their apology for not accepting my offer, (they know I have purchased ALL of their other programs, but NONE at full price). It was not possible for me to throw in my Yiggles, and I didn't have the patience to try $16, $17 etcetera, so my next bid was $20 which was accepted at once by the site's computer. [Edited: This deal gave me 400 Yiggles, so now I have 4.385 Yiggles, but for what?]  I guess each deal has some pre-formulated lowest-price, but it may not be the same price you can get.

--

I *think* I once asked SoftMaker about updating my Ashampoo Office at their site and was told they would have nothing to do with it; it was not their product. But tomos is making me wonder if I remember correctly.

So, nudone (congrats on your 2.500 posts!), what did you do about media icons?  :tellme:

I have some nice icons for image files, but because of Zentient I never see them, and can't even show them!

These are my Mp3 icons - but from where did I get them?:  :-\

bumping!

All Customized Links is an "okay" substitute for half of the Maxthon Start Page, so my biggest problem with Firefox is that the only add'on I have found that comes close to the Maxthon toolbar for "favorites programs" is Launchy, and the author gave up updating this program two years ago, even though I think it still needs a lot in userfriendliness. The prime feature of Launchy is still working, more or less, but it is a nightmare to add links to other programs if you are not a coder. And it is for such a feature, links to other programs, I became interested in the first place.

So I came here to ask if 'you' know of a program / an add'on that will add such a feature to Firefox, making it easy to reach my favourite programs from the inside of Firefox 2, please?

...  Go to www.evermoresw.com for a butt-kicker suite.  Admitted, not gratis (about half  MSOffice Home)  but "Word/Ecxel/Access" all in one binder under one file format.  "Copy-paste" - literally! - tables into word processor and the links are kept. Internet collaboration, yes.  And file conversion to/from MSOffice. Fair dinkum.  It also works exactly like MS Office - so no learning curve. ...

Are you actually using this $99 EIOffice 2007 ?

It doesn't seem as if they are going to make it, I think. No updates for a long time, and not a word about Vista. Several links on the site are empty. I am not too sure who it is  being  butt-kicked...

@ Babis - thanks for telling about pros and cons.

...as a Audio CD Ripper, I think EAC does better job (more complicated though)

I was trying out this EAC, but it never detected my CD disc. The drive but not the disc. Seems many would-be-users are having trouble with ASPI and IMAPI ?? I tried various fixes from the forum, but to no avail. I might though have a look at it again, if ever it passes the beta level.

@ linux128 - thanks for the link to your fine mini review.

However, I will not have cygwin on this unstable PC of mine; too many probs in the past!

I use system-wide mouse gestures thanks to StrokeIt.

StrokeIt hasn't been updated for 3 yrs. Does it have any problems?

You imply that you read Chinese but suggests we should look at something from Japan.  :-\

Besides, their site is not listing any version numbers to be read in Arabic (Latin) digits.
