So what's worse than pure, unmitigated evil?-TaoPhoenix (June 08, 2012, 10:05 AM)
The blind unmitigated desire to bring about "good" by any means necessary. (i.e. jihad, crusade, true faith, eugenics, ethnic 'cleansing', special military tribunals, college admissions exams, etc.)

Thanks @Renegade, that's quite a nifty find you got there. I would not be surprised if, at some stage, it were made illegal to use these sorts of proggies.-IainB (June 10, 2012, 05:10 AM)
I am disgusted to see same persons participating in all contests. I am posting here because I want some good members to grab the offer, not just the regular ones who jump over any promotional offers.-sujay85 (June 01, 2012, 04:34 AM)
I thought I remembered something about a Facebook +1 being a part of the contest, so I passed. However, I may have been mistaken. I really feel like that whole +1 thing is an abomination, especially when incentive based. Just want to let you know. However, if I am confusing contests or something ... oops .. apologies.-Steven Avery (June 09, 2012, 11:14 PM)

In yet another example of the ever growing reach of the American Homeland Security state, Cryptocat developer Nadim Kobeissi, who is Canadian, claims to have been detained on four separate occasions at the US/Canadian border by the Department of Homeland Security in the last three weeks.
While detention and harassment at the border by DHS is unfortunately nothing new, what is interesting is the major topic of Kobeissi’s interrogations. In this case, it was Kobeissi’s open source chat app, Cryptocat that seems to have raised the eyebrows of someone in the upper reaches of DHS.
Surprise reversal!

Taxing communications is pure, unmitigated, evil.
Taxing it? Way, way, way off the charts.![]()
Like seriously? WTF are these criminals thinking?-Renegade (June 08, 2012, 09:43 AM)
We have a fun little game going Renegade. You have all these great adjectives. Then they do even worse things. So what's worse than pure, unmitigated evil?-TaoPhoenix (June 08, 2012, 10:05 AM)
Here's a funny angle: Will they go after spammers for tax evasion?-TaoPhoenix (June 08, 2012, 09:59 AM)
Then you get this idea:
U.N. could tax U.S.-based Web sites, leaked docs show
Global Internet tax suggested by European network operators, who want Apple, Google, and other Web companies to pay to deliver content, is proposed for debate at a U.N. agency in December.

UPDATE: A senior Senate aide confirmed that this evening he received a warning on his Gmail account that Google suspected he had been the target of a state-sponsored cyber attack.
Web giant Google is about to announce a new warning informing Gmail users when a specific type of attacker is trying to hijack their accounts -- governments and their proxies.
...
"Today, we're taking that a step further for a subset of our users, who we believe may be the target of state-sponsored attacks."
...
Google wants to be clear they are not singling out any one government for criticism and that the effort is about giving users transparency about what is going on with their accounts, not about highlighting the malicious actions of foreign states.
