  • [BugFix] Program settings were sometimes not being saved when computer rebooted/shutdown.
  • [BugFix] Zip files were being shown in thumbnail panel.
  • [BugFix] Fixed error in sample commandline for custom emailer tool.
  • [BugFIx] Corrected link to ShareX website and improved instruction text for custom uploader configuration,
  • [BugFix] Corrected a few miscellaneous typos.
  • [Improvement] On Windows8/10, Aero capture mode was enabled by default, needlessly delaying active window captures; Aero options are now disabled by default for Windows 8/10.
  • [Improvement] When changing screenshot directories, the program no longer creates a temporary file to test for directory writeability.
  • [Improvement] Miscellaneous thumbnail panel improvements for compatibility with operating system.
  • [Improvement] Error message when selecting a PDF file in thumbnail list was not accurate.
  • [Improvement] Use of the -show commandline option was not bringing program to front if it was already visible.
  • [Improvement] New "Open Image" item on main file menu.

Maybe this is really telling me that the AMD driver problem was maybe a video card hardware problem.
I don't really know where to begin with replacing a video card and whether it's worth it,

older video cards are frequently discarded or available super cheap; having a spare one is never a bad idea.

it's absolutely sensible to get your hands on a spare cheap video card and try it -- it sounds like that may be your problem.

Just to confirm -- this has now been replicated on another Windows 10 machine, when capturing the active window in conjuction with the Aero capture option disabled.  Working on it now.

smf does have the option to let users switch themes -- but because our dc theme has been thoroughly modified and customized at nearly all levels, its not practical to let user switch between other stock themes.
I could however, look into how easy and clean it would be to offer the opportunity to change dc coloring/css themes.

My philosophy has always been: When in doubt, backup your personal data and docs, and then reinstall the OS from scratch.
Ideally this is done on a new hard drive in case it was a hardware fault on the hard drive (and because it lets you leave the old OS/drive alone).

As useful as that private test area was, it involved quite a bit of ugly hacking around with a bunch of scattered areas of the forum codebase, and in my effort to keep things clean i am hesitating porting it over.

My earlier impression stands, few days have passed and I can not get used to background colours of the posts and quotes. The background gets more difficult on my eyes

Im open to changing the colors, though i think i like them.  But I think what would really be useful in a more general sense is if someone could post (or point us to) a nice tutorial on ways to customize the css for any site you visit using different browsers, by overriding css definitions on a per-site basis.  Then perhaps people could share some dc-specific css site overrides for different looks?

I have added an undocumented/secret feature for this, add ";perpage=#" at the end of your request when viewing a topic, for example ";perpage=500".

However note that such requests might put an unacceptable load on the forum if too many people start using it at the same time, so we may have to remove the feature or reduce the max (currently set to 1000) if this proves to be the case.

spoiler boxes are supposed to autosize based on their css.. it works most of the time -- i'll have to see why it's not in this case.
