It's low-cost and invaluable anyway, and at the Bits du Jour price it's unmissable.
that offer is active now - for the next 20 hours & 45 minutes or so :)
http://bitsdujour.com/

Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product.

sounds like you dont have to pay for later upgrades

Has anyone looked at the lovely shiny new Windows 8 N-editions?

Fantastic offer - only 3+ times the normal price. I am sure they will be snapped up very quickly - grab yours while you can!

this ms page claims they should be the same price - but maybe they just dont make any offers with 'N'.

Do you know does this mean that we in the EU can *only* get 'N', or is it simply another option?

I think you just have to listen a little harder!

did you read the comments, that gave me a laugh.
I think they have to be approved, but us people know how to get around that :-)

Contro,
please, could you quote just the text that you are replying to?

Makes it easier for me (and others) to read understand what you are saying.
Thanks!

Disconnect my seven disks
Connect the system disk (new of 2 TB)
Partition that disk
Install in the first partition C:

dont forget:
install on non-partitioned HD
let Win 7 to do the hidden partition and the C partition. (The rest you can do later.)

How many 'installs' did you have on your last computer :tellme:

I am running FileBox eXtender on 64-bits Win 7 Premium, with no problems
-but I have only activated it in dialog boxes, not in the window title bar
(I don't remember if there were any problems with such):

does the feature Contro mentions work there Curt? (I think it might work for some apps, cause I'm caught off-guard by it occasionally, but it doesnt work in the few apps I just quickly tested).

no, that aspect doesnt work in Win7.

Have a look at this thread
FBx eXtender's 'Click switch file box folder feature' - can this be done in AHK?

(doesnt sound too positive for Windows 7), but just try it and let us know if it works

Off-topic, but Just in Case:

Are you planning on installing 7 on a machine with more than one harddrive?

  • It will automatically install the boot partition on Drive 0
  • Best to have the install (C:\) on the same harddrive (0)
  • If necessary, remove all other drives for it to install on the drive you want
  • Best to install on a clean unpartitioned drive

... people have reached the point where they're saying "enough is enough"

this is a good thing, quite apart from what happens to the people involved in bullying this girl. It also sends a message to people who are being bullied, that they dont have to stand for it either.

Very moving video...

I'm happy to hear that the relevant authorities know about him. I've heard reported that there's someone of the same name currently up on [unrelated] sex offence charges in Surrey, BC - possibly the same person*.

I can understand why anyone would repost his details, but FWIW I (also) dont think it's particularly helpful at this stage.

@tomos
Sorry, but I don't know what you're trying to say in your latest post.

nothing beyond giving the little bit of extra info: file extension & location - on the off-chance that something different was going on there.

There's a 2010 thread here about CRM's that might still have something to offer, and a thread this year where urlwolf recommends InfoQube. (I know nothing about CRM's myself so cant really comment)

CRM (dc search)

^My fault. If I hadn't tried to be funny with the title you probably would have spotted it.  :-[  (And more people might have read it too!)

it was nice to see a thread title with hee-hee in it though

This might be of no help -but I'll post it just in case-
you can see the two catalogue files with .caf extension, stored in the same folder as the exe.

I ... switched out Ghostery for TrackerBlock, on the theory that even if "less evil", Ghostery is run by an ad company, and hopefully PrivacyChoice.org ... isnt?

Two questions (first is answered I think):

1) [what's the online/offline thing with Paragon?] OK - found this (I think correct):
'online' is image made while windows is running;
'offline' = windows not running - presumably with boot cd then

2) is it important to also create an image (or regular images?) of the 100mb hidden partition in Windows 7?
