Found Deals and Discounts / Re: 1 free PageFour license (and one only)
« Last post by PhilB66 on March 17, 2009, 09:22 AM »
Can PageFour be used portably?

Unixtracted the PageFour_1.70.exe, deleted unnecessary stuff and ran nbk.exe. PageFour creates IMBT folder in the user's Application Data folder (location can be changed under "Miscellaneous Options") and writes to the registry @

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imbt\PageFour\Addictive
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imbt\PageFour\Find
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imbt\PageFour\Previous
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imbt\PageFour\Rb
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imbt\PageFour

I guess you could make it portable.

and possiblly rekindle this thread...
Back in August 2007, I listed ClipMate, DirectoryOpus, and a tie between ActiveWords and PowerMarks.  I'd still list ClipMate and DOpus, but Powermarks has been marked for end-of-life, and while I still use ActiveWords every day, it hasn't been updated in the past year and a half.  So I think I'd now replace those two with Linkman, which I've come to feel is an even better bookmark manager than Powermarks.  This listing omits my browser (Firefox) and my email client (Mulberry), as well as at least half a dozen other programs I'd love to include.

The link to download Linkman Free is a bust! Where can I get it?

How about both a direct download link and a link to the developer's/author's Website.

This is going nowhere... all I could say is that you are clearly ignorant about Samurize.

Anything over 3.5% for this type of software, on this type of computer, I consider bloated. Now understand that I am running 2 instances of Rainmeter and using nominally less than 5%. The very act of Samurize is somewhere from 3.7% to 7.8% in idle. Samurize at one point would sometimes hit less than 1%, but I have seen no evidence of this as of yet, in current builds.

So tell me where's the bloat...

With Samurize you are limited to one config at a time. What ever custom design you make will be limited to the board that is created.

Wrong.

Something about the new Samurize can take up 42% of the processor, when you utilize remote software controllers.

Samurize requires a minimal amount of memory and cpu usage. First, get the bit about running multiple instances right, then you will notice how little processing power is used.

Samurize is becoming a bloated piece of software.

How do you define bloated software?

I thought Samurize was the "way to go"... what happened in the interim?

I used some "Gray Button Activator" hack input height.

Sounds interesting, can you elaborate on this?

I use Windows Enabler but if you google "enable greyed out windows controls", you will find out other similar tools.

Downloading...

Maybe a post @ The Portable Freeware Collection Forum would yield good feedback as well.

SiteShoter maybe?

SiteShoter is a small utility that allows you to save a screenshot of any Web page into a file. It automatically creates hidden window of Internet Explorer, loads the desired Web page, and than save the entire content of the Web page into an image file (.png, .jpg, .tiff, .bmp or .gif).

What should I be doing?

Read the faq http://www.voidtools.com/faq.php

I have read over the FAQ and I'm still having problems. The status bar doesn't show that any files have been indexed, and searching has produced no results. I'm still lost. (Not trying to sound whiny, I'm just perplexed.)

Do you mean that the Window is empty after launching everything.exe?

Hey, going through this thread I notice that a lot of posts are missing, including one of my own about a seriously bad side effect after installing this software. Which would be the loss of two from my six partitions.

Did Cody eat some of the posts as a midnight snack or something?

Oh Shades...

Maybe ask a mod to merge the two?

People's sexuality is their own private choice. I don't really want to be faced with it in public, and it makes absolutely no difference whether we're talking gay or straight people (regular mardi gras makes me sick as well). Stop being such attention whores, dammit! >_<

Well said f0dder.

In the Netherlands we have something called the Gay Parade, where like 1 million people come to see 2000 fags on little boats with almost zero clothing. Not my cup of tea.

No need to use offensive terms.

For Trout, it would be wonderful to remove it from taskbar and let it run only on the right side in...(I forgot what it's called) - stroke leaves me grasping for words, but you KNOW what I mean.     :P
Systray?

It's called "The notification area"

Why do some people call the taskbar the "tray"?

check out Quick Mixer @ http://www.angelfire...ickmixer/QMixer.html
Doesnt to the programs thingy.
No, but it does let you configure different sound profiles (10 I believe) and switch between them with a hotkey combination.

OK, I had a look at The Windows Vista Volume Mixer screenshot... I see what you are after...  :-\
