Living Room / Re: Movies you've seen lately
« Last post by KodeZwerg on September 30, 2018, 04:59 AM »
I just re-watched "The Wanderers" from 1979.
The movie is settled down at a changing era, when JFK was murdered.
Rock'n'Roll, Love sex crime, is shortest review i can give.
Really worth to be watched if you like music from late 60ties.
Music is similar to Dirty Dancing, story is for Rebels like myself ^_^

A newer movie watched aswell, called "The Monster", aint that bad at all.
Mother with her teeny child drive thru lonely roads, car is dead, now what to do.
Exactly, call for help and get ripped off from a monster ;-)
For a low budget this looks quit good, actors are unknown ones but doing their job really good aswell.

General Software Discussion / Re: How to get httpS with URL Snooper?
« Last post by KodeZwerg on September 26, 2018, 02:12 AM »
After installing NPcap there is only "WinPcap" driver in URL Snooper
Can you capture the .m3u8 file from the URL http://czwjaeao.lucusvirtual.es/test.php ?
URL Snooper doesnt know NPcap at all, but since NPcap is compatible, it always show WinPcap as driver name.
Screenshot - 26_09.jpg
This capture is done while pressing play for a second and close connection.
I do not investigate it further, if you need a more professional Tool, wich has dozen options youll never need but go really deep, you might consider install WireShark, it is URL Snoopers big brother.

Living Room / Re: Backup Power for USB device -- does it exist?
« Last post by KodeZwerg on September 25, 2018, 05:37 PM »
Maybe you can 'sabotage' a Y-cable, by cutting the + power wire on the RPi side, and providing stable power on the other end, besides the data wires, common ground is also a requirement.
You even could consider to buy such, like shown here
What i meant to say, sabotage works. :Thmbsup:

Ps: To get buyable results near your place, use google and type "usb data and power splitter" as search term.
PPs: YouTube offers DYI tutorials with that search term.

Next Visual Component is ready to 90%, analog VU-Meters, like classic Amps have installed.
Visualisation code is done, object code is nearly done, just one thing is missing to simulate real analog VUs, i have to invent a routine that let the VU continues go back to 0% and only jump direct to values that are higher than current value is. Its easy to say but tricky to make.

Later i want some kind of "swinging" added to that component.

Pictures will follow soon.

I cannot reproduce error, good that mouser can.
Or i might use it wrong/correct, dont know, maby both?

SC is in Notification, left to Time/Date Display, i capture using Hotkeys, equal how hard i try, a Mainpage i never see at all, just a Save-File-Dialog.
If i need Mainpage, i click on Icon and push [X] when not needed anymore, it'll minimize to notifacation area again.
Works flawless for me.

Just rename previos .exe to SC_ShowPrinterName.exe or similar and run it. Should work, not tested by me.

The order of how i installed URL Snooper running with NPcap drivers (on a system that doesnt know anything about them yet)

step 1: Download and install NPcap (if WinPCap was previos installed, it will tell you and let you set "compatible mode")
step 2: Download and install URL Snooper, during installation unmark "Install WinPCap"
step 3: Run URL Snooper, have URL Snooper set active to grab any content, visit any HTTPS site and watch how fast the URL Snooper list grows.

Maby one of them needs administrative rights to set itself up properly, i cant remember that point, i guess i used admin for both.

If it matters, i use Windows 10 x64 latest release build, all works fine the way i described above.

First Link i cannot open, second Link works here good.

Nice Bedtime Story, that way i felt when i upgraded my Delphi 7 installation (150mb?) to Rad Studio Tokyo (12gb?). I skipped updates over a huge amount of time ending with a result that Delphi 7 Compiler needs 350kb for a empty VCL Application while Tokyo outputs 2mb for the same identical source with identical look/function.

You can love it or hate it, the world doesnt care about.
For myself i try to keep things small, but for that task i use the wrong programming language (VCL makes everything beauty and big :-[)

Have a nice day.

It is hard for me to explain, so here comes a image, it is being used as a realtime VU-to-Screen Display  :D

Hello kyrathaba,

i am sorry that i can not help direct, since wrong programming language, but by reading your source i see that you are operating with single chars.
Please take a look, watch closely the "Write" and "Reader" function.
I hope this will show you how to deal with strings instead of single chars.

Best regards,

Hello H. Nabais, you have done a really nice application there!
Usage is very easy and simple.
No installation required besides .Net Framework if missing.
After fixing first Entry to 2000ms as described above, all works in harmony.
On my system AntiVirus tells nothing bad, all works like it should, thank you.

One thing you might could add would be a "Save as default" Button in your "Entry" Dialog. Or maby some Profile option for defaults, would be better.

Hello there, i plan to create a bigger Project that handle Audiofiles of many types, based on Bass.dll Library and all its Plugins.

In that project, besides the general "Playback" ability, there will be GUI developement as main focus.
I do not want to copy WinAMP, but many of its features will be found in my creation.
32bit will be Target .exe

Right now it is just an Idea / no code at all is done, just the wish to create it / improve my old Windows 7+ incompatible BassPlay Utility so final product can be run on Windows 10.

I hope you will like what i do, from time to time i will give updates in here, post early previews and collect your wishes/ideas if you tell.

What not is planned yet, since i have right now no idea on how-to, is to setup Internet Apis to Free Databases as additional Information Resource and Music Broadcasts.
Those two things, if at all, are planned when everything else works cool for you and me.

What is planned:
Several Windows to split everything nice up with visible on/off feature.
Main Window will get Graphical Audio Analyzer, small Audio Info, VU-Meters, HiFi-Rack like Buttons.
Other planned Windows are, 10-Band Equalizer, Audio Spectral Scan, DSP-Effects, Filebrowser, Playlist and Configuration.
When those all running good, encoding function will be implemented and ID3-Tag Editing plus extra ID3 stuff like rename files etc...

In a few days i will present first pictures to give you an idea. For now heres a overblown Image from my old Player Tool.Screenshot - 15_09.png

I havent checked out the link from Ath, when using Delphi to capture console, we work with pipes.
I show you how i do it that the output do not lag / it display everything like console would display it, and not just the final result.
FYI: In Delphi, a TMemo is a control that can contain Text.
Code: Delphi [Select]
  1. procedure CaptureConsoleOutput(const ACommand, AParameters: String; AMemo: TMemo);
  2.  const
  3.    CReadBuffer = 2400;
  4.  var
  5.    saSecurity: TSecurityAttributes;
  6.    hRead: THandle;
  7.    hWrite: THandle;
  8.    suiStartup: TStartupInfo;
  9.    piProcess: TProcessInformation;
  10.    pBuffer: array[0..CReadBuffer] of Char;
  11.    dRead: DWord;
  12.    dRunning: DWord;
  13.  begin
  14.    saSecurity.nLength := SizeOf(TSecurityAttributes);
  15.    saSecurity.bInheritHandle := True;
  16.    saSecurity.lpSecurityDescriptor := nil;
  17.
  18.    if CreatePipe(hRead, hWrite, @saSecurity, 0) then
  19.    begin
  20.      FillChar(suiStartup, SizeOf(TStartupInfo), #0);
  21.      suiStartup.cb := SizeOf(TStartupInfo);
  22.      suiStartup.hStdInput := hRead;
  23.      suiStartup.hStdOutput := hWrite;
  24.      suiStartup.hStdError := hWrite;
  25.      suiStartup.dwFlags := STARTF_USESTDHANDLES or STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW;
  26.      suiStartup.wShowWindow := SW_HIDE;
  27.
  28.      if CreateProcess(nil, PChar(ACommand + ' ' + AParameters), @saSecurity,
  29.        @saSecurity, True, NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS, nil, nil, suiStartup, piProcess)
  30.        then
  31.      begin
  32.        repeat
  33.          dRunning  := WaitForSingleObject(piProcess.hProcess, 100);
  34.          Application.ProcessMessages();
  35.          repeat
  36.            dRead := 0;
  37.            ReadFile(hRead, pBuffer[0], CReadBuffer, dRead, nil);
  38.            pBuffer[dRead] := #0;
  39.
  40.            OemToAnsi(pBuffer, pBuffer);
  41.            AMemo.Lines.Add(String(pBuffer));
  42.          until (dRead < CReadBuffer);
  43.        until (dRunning <> WAIT_TIMEOUT);
  44.        CloseHandle(piProcess.hProcess);
  45.        CloseHandle(piProcess.hThread);
  46.      end;
  47.
  48.      CloseHandle(hRead);
  49.      CloseHandle(hWrite);
  50.    end;
  51. end;
I hope it helps.

If your vision tells you to save one extra file to your video file, where some sort of hash is stored, why not just save in there the current filename?

N.A.N.Y. 2019 / Re: This is an entry for NANY 2019 - SCrypt
« Last post by KodeZwerg on September 01, 2018, 02:15 PM »
For the type of how it is used here, it is more than good enough. Intention was to (client side) crypt on the fly, send data via udp or tcp/ip, (server side) decrypt on the fly, done. Imagine a crypted Chat-Session for example. What i wrote in Post #1 should match. I am no expert but have experience and always interested in other ways to reach goal. My goal was to quick de-/crypt data, nothing more nothing less.

For a crypto competion i have talent enough to create something way better, but that was not focus of this project, just speed.

A NoSql Variant could be MongoDB. It can be used by many programming Languages.
Hm, but it doesn't quite match the OP's requirements of being lightweight, simple and portable, AFAICS.
In one of my applications i've included a few lines php, more not needed to interact with mDB, MongoDB works over Cloud, how much more portabilty exists? Anyway, OP goes SQLite, so thread is done i guess  :D

Best wishes! (i did not wanted to tell that sql is bad, no misunderstanding please, i just wanted to give another option a slight chance of being known.)

I found something that could help you to correct angle and, if i read correct, let you specify output format.

In my own creations i pop up a Window wich just have one EditBox (readonly/to Copy things to Clipboard) inside, for myself i prefer it that way instead of loading any Huge WebBrowser.

But hey, why not SubMenu to offer both?  Just my little opinion. For myself, i would use the editbox popup.

Thanks in advance!

edit
Or a Two-In-One Thing, get Info from site, if Status = "false" offer to open in browser else popup Window?
