LaunchBar Commander / Re: wrt v1.53.01 - July 24, 2006
« Last post by AbteriX on July 25, 2006, 06:15 AM »
I think i got it:
If i get in the upper half the "Save Changes"-button to be pressed
my settings with the "E:\menu\A" folder works.

i.e.
if i save my changes with the "Save"-button in the upper menu-bar
the "Root folder to display" box is cleared and the "Save Changes"-button is greyed out.

I have to use the "Save Changes"-button in the right half first!!

So i modify e.g. the hint field to get this button to work again... press it... and my settings are saved.

now back to work stefan!!!

and i have the valid settings in config dialog.

v1.53.01 - July 24, 2006

first quick impressions without longer debugging:

- the "Save" and the "Save all" - button is still dimmed,
even i do changes. But on exit my settings are saved.

- LBC didn't wanna use some of my folders,
if i click on dimmed "Save"-button, the "Root folder to display" box is cleared (or the older value is set again)
No constancy to see: "E:\iso" works, "E:\Menu\A" didn't.

It's my launch break, so i didn't have much time to debug  :(

HTH, if you have questions...

Screenshot Captor / [v2.18.03] clean up the dl-package
« Last post by AbteriX on July 21, 2006, 07:18 AM »
just FYI

1. in the download package are two *.dll.pec2bac files left

2. in the help (great work BTW) are still 'Ctrl+D' shortcuts instead of 'Ctrl+Q'
- What if I don't want to keep the capture? -> You can delete the current image by simply hitting Ctrl+D, or...
- Miscelaneous (Miscellaneous?;-) Tips and Tricks -> Hit Ctrl+D to delete the current image.

General Software Discussion / Re: Poster Printer - free (open source)
« Last post by AbteriX on July 19, 2006, 02:16 AM »
Thanks for this find!
I have search for a tool like this ~6 weeks ago.

I think "rasterbator" is a tool to load an image and print this.
"PosterPrinter" acts as printer... you can use it from any application like WORD or PDF-Reader.

I will try PP as i find same calm minutes.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Zoom Player - the all-in-one media player!
« Last post by AbteriX on July 18, 2006, 06:08 AM »
Very nice review and informations, thank you all.

Maybe one don't know this tools....

For seeing movies and DVD i use mplayer.  ~ 3-4 MB
There is a nice frontend <MPUI> to make using mplayer very easy.
I have now no codecs installed, Mplayer have them build in.
Mplayer and MPUI is stand alone (no registry access and portable)

For hearing mp3 i use <1by1 > ~ 50-100kB
He is also portable with ini file.
1by1 can use WinAmp input.dll's
Most i like that 1by1 is an "directory player" i.e. there is no play list needed....just browse your hard disc and listen.

And yes, i have an WinAmp 2.9 folder with all needed plugins too  :D

Screenshot Captor / Re: Print-out size-problem
« Last post by AbteriX on July 12, 2006, 08:31 AM »
a reasonable print? - yeah i don't know how to explain.

Maybe smtg like
"if the screen shot width and height is the half of the SC screen (maximized)
then the 'normal' print out should use the half of the paper too".

i.e. the 'normal' print out should print in a size as the 100% screenshot preview is big.
(If the screenshot is bigger than the SC screen, than 'autofit' it and print this on an paper)
{just an another idea is to print larger shots on two papers, but that's an other story}

I know there is dpi and resolution, DIN A4 and letter too, i have no glue how to code this.

wrt your hint... 'cus of the small print preview i don't see if the quality is good enough.

Is this understandable?

« Last post by AbteriX on July 12, 2006, 06:47 AM »
- i take an screen shot (300x300dpi) with v2.18.03
- i crop it
- i have a 100% preview

- i wanna print this shot

- but the size of the picture are either to small (normal)
or to big (fit to side)
or i must set the size my self to get an reasonable print out.

Do i smtg wrong ?
How can i get an reasonable print out without tweeking the settings?

Screenshot Captor / Re: Option to NOT save to file?
« Last post by AbteriX on July 12, 2006, 06:40 AM »
Feature request: I'd enjoy an option to not save my screencaps to files. ...
I second this feature wish (of course, u know :P)
"delete all images in screenshot directory"
-mouser
This is no solution for me.
I on my own didn't want to delete ALL screenshots.
To NOT save by default is an logically way to me.
564
To sort this out....
...are you using an company pc ? (policies ?)

http://dafizilla.sou...orge.net/table2clip/
What is Table2Clipboard:
Mozilla applications allow to select rows and columns from a table
simply pressing Control key and picking rows/columns with left mouse button.

The selection can be copied to clipboard but the original table disposition is lost
making ugly results when you paste the text on datasheet applications (eg excel).

If you want to paste data in Microsoft Excel on OpenOffice Calc
with correct disposition simply use Table2Clipboard

"jv16 PowerTools" or his older "RegCleaner 4.3.0.780" are better for to remove ShellNew entries.

That's clever . Remembers me to the O'Reilly books.

What's about the Epson driver/print dialog. Are the as feature rich as the Canon one we talked about last days?

I have used tools like "NaviScope" or "MyVitalAgent" (non FF tools)
to see what goes on when a side is loaded: 13 from 30 pics loaded/1,324kB to download/38% done/ wait for responce/...
or like this.

Question: is there an FF ex to see such infos too?

Thank U Carol
for the link to  http://www.scotsnews.../best_of/firefox.htm

so i found

Tab Clicking Options let's you select an action to perform
with different clicking events on the tab bar or a tab

from http://twanno.mozdev...bclicking/index.html

now i can doubleclick an tab to close it.

Edit:
Arrg, my "Tab Mix Plus" ex have this option too. I've overseen this.

Well, cleaning the registry by hand could be a long way.
You have to go to classes root, search for "ShellNew"-key unter unwanted .* extension entry
like CLASSES_ROOT\.doc\ShellNew | NullFile

A tool 4U could be
ShellMenuView
Web Site: http://www.nirsoft.net/

others are
jv16 RegCleaner
jv16 PowerTools 1.3.0.195 (last uncripped freeware)
EasyCleaner from http://personal.inet...toniarts/ecleane.htm
RegSeeker from http://www.hoverdesk.net/

all must only be unzipped, or installed once only, then copy the install folder
