Living Room / In need of video hosting
« Last post by nite_monkey on July 30, 2007, 11:54 PM »
I have been looking for a video hosting service similar to youtube.

The hosting service needs the following:
1.I would like to be able to upload any size video.
2.I would like to be able to upload as many videos as I want.
3.I would like to have the ability for people to download the video in its original format.
4.I would like the only way to be able to watch the video is by going to where ever I have it embedded(a video page on my site for example), or by downloading it.

I haven't ran across any video hosting sites that do this, so if anyone knows of a video hosting site that lets me do that, please let me know, thanks.

edit:ok, so I did some research, and found out how to download google videos in avi format, so I think I am going to use google video.

I must not be reading this right. He wants an AHK script that will make a folder for him that he can then extract his files to? If so, I haven't found an archive program yet that doesn't have the option to extract to, which makes a folder and extracts the files to it, so can someone please explain to me exactly what he is wanting?

I don't know if it's just me, but when ever I try to run your autotile program I get bombarded with the error Can't find script engine "JScript" for script "file location".

vlc suports webcams? Hmm, I'll have to try that out and see what I can do.

edit: thanks cmpm. I found a skin for vlc that separates the video window from the controls window, so now I can select my webcam, and just move the video window up to the top right of the screen to where the title bar isn't showing.

well yeah, its going to be hidden from alt+tab, it now shows up as wintabber in the alt+tab list. if you want to have access to the tabbed programs in wintabber like the alt+tab, you would use ctrl+tab.

well it is a start, but I am right now looking for a webcam program that only has the webcam video and not the title bar or the file, edit, etc. bar

I kind of decided to go a different route. All I need is either a webcam program that strictly lets me choose my video source and shows just the webcam, and not the menu area (the titlebar, the file, edit, etc area) that I can resize, or a program that will let me hide the title bar, and the file, edit, etc. area of a program of my choosing. I hope that isn't too confusing.

« Last post by nite_monkey on July 20, 2007, 11:48 PM »
I am looking for a program that I could select several video sources (webcam, portion of my desktop, video clips, etc.) and I could combine those sources into one. For example, I could put my webcam as one source, and then put a video in a small window on top of that (like picture in picture on a tv), or I could fade from one source to another. One example of this is medialooks video mixer, but I am not paying $500 for this, so I was wondering if someone could show me an alternative that is hopefully freeware, or not as expensive.
I would like to be able to select this program as an input in another program (eg. use it as my webcam source in msn), or record to an avi video.

just asking, have you ever right clicked on the taskbar? if someone has, maybe you could get an idea of how to tile the windows that way.

yes, you can add wintabber into jedi window dock, and you can add jedi window dock into wintabber, but don't try to add the program on the outside to the tabbed program

Some apps might be a bit flaky if you try to dock it like this - somebody should give winamp or other skinned stuff a go. Interesting that WinTabber can handle console windows, perhaps I should give it a go... or just remember to launch console2 instead of cmd.exe :)

skinned it is. pictured here is gom player.
The only problem with wintabber is when you release the program from wintabber, you can't add it back to wintabber again untill you reopen the program that you added to wintabber.

just tested jedi window dock, gom player works with it too. I am going to do more testing with jedi window dock now and see how good it is.

cool, another program to try!

edit: ok, does anyone have a copy of jedi window dock? I can't download the one off the site right now. When ever I try to extract it, it comes up with the damaged archive error.

edit again: ok, never mind, I finally got it to work, now I can test it out and see which is better.

General Software Discussion / Windows firefox edition... I guess
« Last post by nite_monkey on July 16, 2007, 10:00 PM »
I guess that is sort of what this program is like, anyways here goes. Ever heard of WinTabber? if not, it is a program that with it, you open a program, and then you can move it to wintabber, and the program will be removed from the task bar, and a new tab will be added to wintabber, much like firefox. let me post the link and a screenshot or two so you can understand what I am talking about.

WinTabber

notice how in the screenshot there is three servers running and a command promt running all in the same program.
(note~if you can't see the screenshot for some reason, let me know, and I will upload it to an image hosting site, I was just to lazy to do that right now)

I haven't had any keys die on my yet, but I am going to guess that the space bar will die on me first, because I sometimes forget to hit it, and I thought I did, so I hit it really hard to make sure it gets pushed.

I've downloaded it,and it isn't too bad, I haven't used it much yet, but if you want a screenshot, go find a screenshot of a real vista start menu, and you will basically have a screenshot for this program.

Wow, thats messed up! haha

I saw a.. different version of that before. This... other version isn't safe for work.
lol, I know what other version you're talking about. I've seen this video before, its kind of funny.

it wouldn't work. pouring the coke out of the bottle stops the fountain effect from happening. Mythbusters have already tried to see what would happen if you drank diet coke and swallowed a bunch of mentos.
