New beta up, would appreciate feedback:

v2.32.0 - Nov 1, 2015
  • [BugFix] Manually created notes were forcing the clip naming template in options to be replaced with "Note" (!)
  • [BugFix] Small font sizes and display anomalies when using font/dpi options in Windows.
  • [BugFix] Attempt to fix occasional altkey being seen as down if using ctrl+alt+V hotkey to paste stack items.
  • [BugFix] When using "paste clip using sendkeys" from right-click menu, the SendKeys special characters were being replace (see here); now you need to start a clip with {sendkeys} if you expect to have such replacements performed.
  • [BugFix] The Ctrl+F hotkey to go to search field, as well as default behavior of jumping to search field when toggling display was broken; this could even sometimes lead to program becoming unresponsive.
  • [BugFix] Ctrl+F hotkey to go to search field now also works when editing clip.
  • [BugFix] It was not possible to edit clips when a search filter string was specified.
  • [Improvement] Changing text in search field will now preserve the currently selected row as long as it matches the ongoing search.
  • [BugFix] A couple of formatting preset options were not being remembered when saved to modification preset files.
  • [BugFix] Options to display clip date when pasting were showing wrong dates (note that it will always show the creation date not last modification date).

Edit the ConfigDir.ini file (rename ConfigDirDefault.ini to ConfigDir.ini) in the FARR program files directory and tell it where you want it to store all user data files/settings.

Cafepress are extremely supportive when a shipment doesn't arrive -- essentially they just mail you a new one, no questions asked.
So yeah, contact them and they will send you a replacement.

Well, once you view the standalone screenshot window ONCE, it should remain as a standalone, minimizable window for the rest of the session, even as you take new screenshots.
Now just turn off that post-capture pop-up dialog completely and let it autosave and stay minimized.
Now whenever you take a screenshot it will be in the standalone window which you can move, minimize, resize, etc.
No need to use the post-capture popup or the main sc window.

2. (This one is aesthetically subjective) Can you take down and disassemble the fixture, and then reassemble it with the bulbs pointing down ... without making it look completely horrid (or electrocuting yourself for that matter)?

no this is an antique dining room chandelier with shades.. however, it's not so precious and i think the solution is to replace it with a nice big ceiling fan with normal sized LED bulbs.

Have you tried the new feature that lets you show the screenshot in a standalone window? It's in the view menu.  Maybe that will be useful for what you are trying to do?

Stoic's advice is great -- much better than trying to connect and print a page from your tablet, and the result will be more informative.
You might even look up on the web the general procedure for printing test page for an hp, epson, canon, and take those with you.  99 times out of 100 that should be enough to get a test page printed.

I love buying things at thrift stores, but i've never bought a printer, because these days printers (especially inkjet) seem to be selling at below cost new these days, because they make their money on ink. The savings in cost rarely seem worth it.
Add to that the possibility of printer not working as well as new due to clogged heads, etc. and it really becomes hard to justify.

For the same reason I would avoid an extended warranty -- the printers themselves are near disposable, might as well buy a new one when the current one dies -- it's the ink that costs you.

Welcome to the site, Peter -- please make sure you don't make multiple posts saying the same thing.  Just one post is good enough.

Can you explain a bit why you want items removed from the menu?

As for %num% not increasing -- the %num% field will only change if it is needed to make the filename unique.  So if there are other things in the filename like date which changes, the number will go back to 001 (or be left out entirely).

However, if you want to have a number in your filenames which ALWAYS increases, you can use %numinc%.

Screenshot Captor / Re: ScreenShot Captor v13 - Paste into Text Box?
« Last post by mouser on October 29, 2015, 05:43 PM »
BretMan, You should be able to paste into a text box with Ctrl+V without any difficulty.  There is no right-click paste menu, but Ctrl+V should work.
If it's a text box that you previously created you may need to double-click on it first to activate the text editing, which should be indicated with a flashing cursor.

I have not had great experience with candelabra LEDs.

The biggest problem is if you have a candelabra fixture where the bulbs are mounted facing upwards.  A traditional incandescent candelabra shines a ton of light downward, but this is not the case with ANY LED i have come across, and it's much worse with candelabra LEDs where the base inevitably blocks most of the light.
