I had this issue on upgrade before version 6. I cleared the cookies, cache, removed add-ons and restarted. Worked for me.

Dunno... I just think the world is better when we don't automatically assume that terrorists and child molesters are stalking us on every street corner.

I have to disagree. Many girls who share their pics on facebook with friends and in turn public (thanks to zuckerberg for making every profile public by default) are not even aware of this type of abuse. It's not media created paranoia. Many European and Russian girls who got their profiles open to public are ending up in some CPA ad or inside some adult social network as fake profile picture (even though they have nothing adult in the picture, random simple picture with family lands some of them in such fake profile). It's not surprising if anyone says - EU and russian girls often fall to most of the identity theft issues because of their looks. I'm damn sure that due to their thinking speed, they're not even aware of the abuse. No gender offense but some teen gals are simply dumb to keep profile open or maybe that could be popularity contest for them in school or university. Maybe most of you are not aware of this fact that people in united states(or any country with large internet shopping population) instantly click on CPA ad with girl featured in it,irrespective of the offer. It roots to the conversion and for the same reason many EU/zec gals are in fiver these days doing promotional gigs. Many forums are running with gigs of creating 100's of fake profile on adult network with pictures stolen from facebook or any open social network. This is one of the reason i hate google and facebook for their open-ness. We can't change dumb people but we can surely voice against corporations who are responsible for this type of situation.

I agree on that part, for which i do have respect for this guy as his post made it up on CNN today. I can't imagine MS, Oracle, Dell and other Fortune 500 company employees ranting at cafeteria like this , let alone blog post or social media post. There are very few companies out their offering creativity space and freedom to employees. Google and yahoo are one of them. Rest of the other companies seem to have policies to treat their workers as "corporate whores slaves".

If you look at it from non-techie angle, that google employee's rant looks similar to cheerleader complaining about her work and not getting noticed. I mean seriously this looks like cry for attention.

1) Oh look facebook is leader in market, let's beat them with G+. what ? no one is looking at G+ ? ..... cry sob sob sob...

2) Hey amazon is capturing internet with their shop and products, that's bad we have to stop them, we are the good guys in privacy and user caring so lets beat them by being leader in their domain, let's copy them. what ? not working ? ..... cry sob sob sob...

3) MS and apple are leader in OS wars ? that's bad, let's beat them... copy linux, add web only features and sell... what ? not working...? ..... cry sob sob sob...

4) Tired of IE and mozzila, opera ? lets create a platform to spy on users and tie them with our products and networks... what ? not working ? screw you all... Eff all of you... cry sob sob sob...

Nothing is working except adwords ? cry..sob sob sob.

We need to be leader to control the internet or else our employees (which are fanbois at it's best) are going to cry like cheerleaders. We need platform. Cry...sob sob.

Internet is much better if no single brand manipulates it in one profitable direction. Dominance makes internet experience monotonous no matter how good they offer services. If you look at their *new* minimalistic layouts for every product (blogger, adsense and other sites) you'll realize that they suck at minimalistic interface and usability these days. Google fonts and blogger for example are big FAIL and not just that take a look at google adsense mobile interface, it sucks badly in reporting.

I think only way i can sum this up - stop pleasing everyone. Stop being perfect for everyone. Stop competing for market share by creating clone of every popular service out there. They're acting like amateurs these days. Closing google labs was a bad move. When you stop innovating, you end up emulating. Good luck google for such deceptive vision.

I think it's just the matter of time fanbois will pick this up like they did with AIR(different tech but same method of market penetration). Google knows how to play with standards and open source world, so forcing any technology using brand and the popularity is not that hard. Point is - "What's in it for me and the users" or is it just another shiny stuff ?

I don't think this is because of manufacturers pricing, but more of custom tax and other taxes applicable in respective country, for which US or any other manufacturing countries are not responsible for the price hike.

Ehtyar, host1plus has VPS where you can get PHP 5.3. In fact any host offering VPS and Dedicated plans will allow you to use php 5.3 or any other script depending on your needs.

I think sign of success is that you get love and rotten tomatoes (hate) for what you do in life. I also think that Steve is lucky guy for getting that much attention and was never ignored. Most of us spend our days and nights making big corps more rich but will never get the attention (it's not needed either for many introverts). I'm not going to make any personal comments on his death with relation to charity and his religion.

Only thing i can say about charity and these big CEO's is that bill gates and buffets are ignored by media even though we all know their contribution back to society. Bill is very active for AIDS awareness and other health related cause but people simply ignore that and this proves the theory of "what's in it for me". Rich and upper middle class mourning on his death were apple users and so it's obvious that their voices will be heard on social media. Ask any lower middle class computer user or person below that about steve jobs, answer will surprise you.I feel sad because he inspired many small business in and out of united states. That's all. As for people comparing Steve jobs with Edison, he selected the class of people for his products, edisons innovations were not based on any particular part of the food chain. That answers everything. So i'm not going to give that guy any more attention that he deserves.

I find this very interesting:
"Steve spoke to me of the illness more recently than a few months ago as something that really did bother him, that he did not like the fact that he had been close to death, and sort of survived," Wozniak told "The Early Show" from his home in Los Gatos, California.

"It kind of surprised," said Wozniak. "He's got a logical mind that understands, you know, as he is quoted as saying, that death is really an affirmation of life as part of the circle, and, you know, once you have a healthy thinking like that, you aren't necessarily bothered by that. But he spoke like he was very bothered by it."
I remember Dell making a shot on apple's worst future before 2011. But Steve changed it in a way that company is really doing good with ipad and other sales last two years. It'll surely disturb anyone who is aiming for the success, not because of the death but timing of it.

We have some recruiters here who check facebook or other social media profiles of the candidates before calling them, it's not restricted to linkedin anymore. So if you're sharing something public which doesn't go in line of thought with the recruiter or the employed company, or even family and friends it can go against you. Google admitting not to spy on web users is like US army saying - theyhave no interest in middle east politics. FOX reporters found spying for the sake of information and news. Same can be said for the other government stuff. Paranoia ? so be it.

Letter from Jeff Bezos on amazon front page.

Kindle Fire has a radical new web browser called Amazon Silk. When you use Silk – without thinking about it or doing anything explicit – you’re calling on the raw computational horsepower of Amazon EC2 to accelerate your web browsing.
;D

I just connected this and this with the bolded quote.

Here in this part of the world, we're ripped off no matter how and when you see it. Thanks to our government-price rape is beyond imagination.

Kindle Touch = 4900-RS+VAT+Import TAX+Delivery+LBT+Sellers Profit=10599/RS+*   =220$
Kindle Fire = 9744-RS+VAT+Import TAX+Delivery+LBT+Sellers Profit=19,208RS+*      =400$

+ Payment processor charges and other charges additional (Paypal is worst when it comes to currency conversion, we lose money here no matter how we do it). No fixed price for any electronic gadget.
