For the record, I've sold zip on Lulu, payhip, Scribd. Still awaiting quarterly earnings to be reported back to Smashwords from KoboBooks, Diesel ebookstore, Page Foundry, Baker & Taylor Blio, LibraryDirect, and Baker & Taylor Axis 360, so I may have made a few sales in those channels that I don't yet know about.

I released the ebook first on Smashwords, on July 21st. So, it's been almost one month, and here's my profits for that ~4 week period:

bookProfitsPie.png

Note: Although the shown profits total $114.98, I've spent $6.82 in 6x9" bubble-lined mailing envelopes and donated two copies (one to a librarian, to increase exposure, one to my wife). Subtracting those "expenses", I've netted $95.80 in 3.5 weeks.

I've been distracted by personal issues involving ex-wife/kids/work, but I think I need to get my head back in the game and go ahead and knock out book 2. From everything I read, multiple books, especially those in a series, help sell each other.

I've been laboring to increase discovery of my work. Joined AuthorsDB, Independent Author Network (man, do they retweet a bunch about my book!), Author's Den, Koobug, multiple Google+ writing groups, featured on Top Indie Authors and Featured Author on eBookOnFire, and have had a DC member blog an interview with me, and have a blog tour in the works for December. So, I'm continuing to roll the snowball...

Got internet back up. Neighbors too.
529
Without Internet past 24 hours (neighbors on same ISP also without). Hope to be back soon.

I also had to fill out a customs form for each of the two books that shipped to Canada. Geesh.
531
Postage to Canada was $11.95 USD. We're good.
532
Also, I would really appreciate it if you guys who have ordered books would post your honest review, after reading it, to Smashwords, Goodreads, and Amazon. Thanks :)
533
When you receive your book, please post pictures of it (a) on your bookshelf, (b) you holding it, (c) spouse reading it, etc  :D

Two others have paid $23.00 in total, which I think will be too much.
541
Not precisely. About $5 is covering media shipping in the US. Might be a bit more to ship to Canada. Anyone who overpays I can PayPal back the difference, or make it up to them in DonationCredits.

Living Room / The town where WiFi, TV, radio, and cellphones are banned
« Last post by kyrathaba on August 12, 2013, 11:36 AM »

The town of Bomont outlawed dancing in the movie Footloose, but the kids in Green Bank, West Virginia live with much worse: no electronics.

That's because the small town of 149 people lies in the middle of the 13,000-square mile National Radio Quiet Zone.

Scientists use this space to project satellites into space for research, and they can't have waves from personal electronic devices interrupting their signals. That means no radio,  TV, WiFi, cellphones or bluetooth.
