fSekrit / Read only password support?

Hi f0dder,

have you think about to implement the option of having an r/o password too?

e.g.
i want to share a "CommonInfos.exe"
with passwords and telephone numbers not all should see
but some people who have the password for fSekrit.

If i now didn't want that the modify the content of my "CommonInfos.exe"
for not having different versions of that info circle around...
... it would be nice to give only an r/o password out to that people.

Maybe you came along a trick to do that... so please think about this feature than again.

case sorting upper and lower case is now fixed in build 1.55.02.

There are  new quote buttons:
- select text an use this as an quoting, as many as you like to use.

This is quit easy 

Maybe we can have this feature here too?

back to topic
i have a few questions to be up to state:

1. i don't like to script SC in OOP, that's sounds i have to wrote a lot of code
to e.g. put an border around an image ?
Can we have some scripting code examples for imagine please?

2. again, what means to use e.g. LUA... i would need my
SC to come with me on my USB-Stick.
I don't want/can't install a language on all PCs.....or can i use LUA 'stand alone'?
And how big would e.g. the LUA folder be?

Again, why not VBS with an captor.dll as 'API' .....(i don't know if i use the right terms)
I think WSH is on the most PCs standard?

Can't we use a portable scripting language like AHK or AutoIt?

It's just a heads up for people who want to add suggestions related to this,

I like to see a few (~3 or 5) "quick launch buttons" to execute a few preferred scripts.
Or an drop-down box: click on the arrow - hoover the mouse over an script name and click it.

  I havent decided whether to use an existing language like lua or python, or go some other route.

This is NOT related to LBC only
i have seen this from other apps too:

i have an folder with 20 shortcuts to my favored apps.
If i want to open this folder with an app like LBC
it takes several seconds (~10) to open this folder.

Perhaps you can do here smtg?

Maybe

"index" the state of the current shortcuts
in an database for an quick preview the next time
and scan the folder for newer shortcuts in the
background and display them later?

Or take this behaviour to the help if you want. Maybe
it helps others who think this is an bug of LBC.

LaunchBar Commander / v1.54.02 - minimize config dialog problem

- report FYI -

- the bar is shown
- i use context menu => Preferences
- i minimize the config dialog

The config dialog didn't minimize into the tray but very next above it in an button-size.
But into the tray there is an button too.

If i use this button to maximize the config dialog...
...the never maximize...
...but i get an "Welcome to LBC....[Configure now]"-dialog instead.

If i click on [Configure now] the old config dialog is activated....but still
minimized as an button above the tray.

I can use the maximize button of this button-sized config dialog to maximize it.

arrrggg, now it works as it should.
Now not, now i have the config dialog AND the Welcome dialog

I have set the color at the [Docking bar]-tab to transparent.

Now i have no LBC-context menu anymore if i click into the area where the bar is.
I have to right click on an item at the bar and use this context menu.

just FYI.

    - test report only -  FYI

"Auto Hide" and "Auto Slide"

a)
only works once after i set it in the dialog ... means the bar disapears.
Then it apears (by a mouse click on the border of the screen?) and disapears no more.

b)
if the bar disapears, it still reserves the place, and i can't maximize an other window

c)
if the bar apears, it's hight is too less,  i can't see the icons in full, only in half.


d)
i have set an shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+L",  but the bar doesn't apears after i press this short cut.

minor feature request (and tip):

I have an folder full of .lnk's files. This folder i have added as folder to LBC.

The items are showed as
ProcessEx.exe.lnk
Screenshot Captor.exe.lnk
... and so on.

Can we have an option to trim this .lnk part in the view?
[ ] Trim from back: [     .lnk|.exe|.cmd]


And maybe trim "Shortcut to  "   too. (but this i can do manually!)
[ ] Trim at begin: [Shortcut of  |Verknüpfung mit  ]

LBC v1.54.02 - July 26, 2006 - testings report:

1 - now the "Save Changes"-button is reactivated after i choose an folder, i press it, and it's OK
2 - if i save with the "Save"-button in the menu it's works too

3 - even if i exit with [X] it is saved .... is this good? Properly not.

4 - BUG: after i press the "Save"-button in the menu once.... it works along, but
--- it's still greyed out, even i do an change somewhere again and again.

5 - "Hint" (between Caption and Icon) is not shown. I think i see a yellow hint with my own text?
--- "Show hints" i have unchecked for to test this.
("Hints on MouseOver" on the main page under [miscelaneous] is checked)

6 - "Show hints" should called "Show item names as hint" to differ it from the "Hint" -option above

for me the white back ground is to big sometimes:


Especially when i paste the shot into word
the image is not in line with the text (yes, i can modify this)

I think an back ground as i show with the red border above would be enought.
I think further, Thomas wants this back ground size to be "set-able".

Must say again, doing a capture every second minute just now,
this auto save behaviour incommodes highly.
There is every time a short delay while saving which disturbs colossal.
(may be our favorite developer has an high end pc where this delay never happens  )

An other problem occurs
when i click on an thump on the left side...
...then my current shot is saved (ok, i set this so to do this automaticly)
but it is focused ! (i mean my current shot, i.e. it is showed again in the main window)
So i must (search and) click on the thump again a second time.
Perhaps this auto save could be done in the back ground?


Pfffttt {takeadeepbreath} sorry, just an IMHO report.
