Thanks IainB.
I have 2.4 and 3.0, so, to keep the older versions, and 3.1,
I added 3.1 to the destination directory and program group.
It activated properly, even with changing those.
Added 3.1 to the shortcut too.

N.A.N.Y. 2012 / Re: NANY 2012 - Pledge & Release: Stick A Note
« Last post by cmpm on December 26, 2011, 07:30 AM »
Nothing to be sorry about, that 's for sure!
Thanks for the screenshot.
I could have changed my dpi to see it myself, but desktop icons get messed up.
My icon saver works good sometimes and sometimes not.

I found where the notes are stored, it would be nice to have a delete button,
but doing it from inside the target folder is fine as well.

Thanks

Yes the dpi problem is a problem for me as well as TaoPhoenix.
I hope you can fix it soon, I really like this program!
Could not save any notes till after making a note, I press tab and enter and it saves it.
I don't know what else is down there for editing or deleting if I need to.

Could someone post a screenshot of the edit window, so I know what I'm tabbing to?

Thanks for a cool program anandcoral!

Yes you are correct rjbull, no tabs.
It had so much I thought it did.

Anyway here's another notepad with tabs.

http://freddy1990.co...uct&name=caderno

It's probably on this site somewhere, but to give another choice.
There it is with some coolness to it.

another notepad with tabs-Notepad With Tabs
it will not replace notepad but I'm sure it can be set to open the files you want

http://techie-buzz.c...tepad-with-tabs.html

plus there is Metapad talked about
for the more advanced user

As far as other programs, I guess you have to find them one at a time like f0dder said.

This one may be too simple, but it does have custom settings.
And claims to keep 'a proper aspect ratio'.
From their site.
FreeSizer will always use a proper aspect ratio, these values are not absolute. FreeSizer will automatically calculate the proper aspect ratio and use the values that are nearest to your desired image size.

Yes, possibly, not sure, maybe it's because the files are already on my computer
?
.avi and mp4 is vlc and use it
the others are 'always ask'
except .flv which wants to download if I let it

Need to fix my app list so it's consistent...

Along with what ghacks posted, I've found that sharing got cooler.
No need, for the one shared with, to download media files to play them.

This is new to me, maybe it's always been there, but I don't recall.

It worked on Facebook anyway...

Let me know if you can just play this video or not.

Auspex works in all programs including Word.
Make your own or let it build a list according to what you type.

Is LiteOn reading the DVD as a DVD or just a CD.
I had one LiteOn DVD that would not recognize DVDs.
It saw them as CDs only, returned it.
Strange I thought....

In IE, under tools, internet options, make sure 'Show Pictures" is checked.
Or you can click "Reset" to get IE back to it's default settings, which will reset everything.

General Software Discussion / Re: Cnet's Download.com and the installer scam
« Last post by cmpm on October 01, 2011, 08:05 PM »
From PcWinTech's Facebook Page

Brothersoft.com has gone the same path as Cnet and now has all their downloads as toolbar installers. Just like I did with Cnet I have asked them to remove every one of my programs. This is a good reason why I use majorgeeks.com as my main mirror. They treat users right.

7.0.1 is out today.

Upgrading to 7 took out my 'adblockplus',
for some reason.
Added it back in with no problem.
Then I found this which may help.

Not sure cause I fixed my problem without it.

You could try 'The Sage', it's a Dictionary and Thesaurus.
If you let it run in the tray, it is triggered by hovering the mouse over the word and using the hotkey combination.

@IainB

If I may ask, does your perception of the meaning of the Caduceus affect you in your progress through life - or your own philosophy of life?

No not really, it's just a picture or representation of what we see in our mind's eye.
There are many.

You don't have to be a "Christian" to have Christ or the Spirit.
Christ is just a word, there are many that depict the same thing.
Buddhism ,Tao, Hindu, whatever name they give the spirit we all have.

Some think some have it and others don't.
Spirit/God/Christ-whatever you want to call it.
Not me, and that doesn't make me a 'Universalist' either.
Too many folks want to label you one thing or another.
And include or exclude you for their own ego.
